De Cantera Mexican restaurant

very good Mexican food. I wanna say authentic but I am not Mexican to know lol. Service was good very friendly.

The food here is good, don't get me wrong, just not great.This is our second time trying this place and this order was MUCH better than the last!!The lady inside was friendly and the food came out fairly quick. What we ordered:- Steak Tacos- Birria Tacos (VERY greasy)- Al Pastor Tacos (my fav)This used to be an ice cream shop, and it now has fun Mexican decor around the restaurant! Avocado piñatas and fun colorful strings!

So delicious and wonderful! This was our first time and service was amazing! We had the shrimp tostadas and carnitas gorditas! Also got the churros to go! Definitely will return!

Stopped by for some chips and salsa with the family. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was great; especially the outdoor patio! Highly recommend!!

It keeps getting better! We tried the molcajete and michelada today and both were outstanding! Beer and wine are also available now. A fantastic menu has become even better with recent menu additions.

Food was delicious! Authentic tacos with homemade tortillas! Got the chorizo, shrimp, chicken, and mixed tacos. All were very delicious!

Fourth trip on the last two weeks. The beef burrito was the best we ever had--gotta add the cilantro sauce. Such complex flavors. The fries were even great.

This place just opened so hopefully it will improve over time. When we first walked in we were not sure if we should take a seat or order at the counter. Two employees sat talking in the booth across the counter and said nothing. After several minutes we picked up a paper menu & began to look at it. One of the girls finally asked if we were dinning in or takeout. We said dinning in. She said "take a seat & I'll bring you menus". She did not ask us what drinks we wanted & sat back down talking to the other employee in the booth. Another couple walked in and exact same thing happened. They stood there forever before being acknowledge, and once they grab the paper menu, they were acknowledge. The lady finally came over and asked us what we wanted to drink. We told her we were also ready to order. Several other couples came in all ignored at first, and not knowing what to do, or how to order because the set up is a little strange. The other employee finally got out of the booth & went to the back(it only took 10 customers)They do not provide you with chips and salsa, but you can order them I think for $2.50. The tacos are all à la carte and the burrito came with fries. They seemed to be out of a lot of meat choices saying they weren't ready yet. it was 5:30p so you think they would be ready for the dinner rush. Everything was tasty; however, this was the first time in my life the corn tacos were not double wrapped so as you can imagine they fell apart. The refried beans were black beans versus pinto, but that's not a deal breaker & the beef is steak so that's a good sign no ground beef. Overall happy with the food, but the service needs a lot of work. Also the drive thru was closed which is probably a good thing with the staff that was working the day we went they wouldn't be able to multitask & I would think you would wait forever in your car for this type of food. Will definitely try it again.

Mexican American here. Tried the red pozole. It was really good, just like homemade and they didn't skimp on the ingredients. I left feeling full. I will definitely have this again.

I just moved to the area and looking for authentic Mexican food. I gave De Cantera a try and was not disappointed. I got the chicken enchilada and it was excellent. I'll definitely be eating at De Cantera again. Glad I found it.
