Da Jerk House: Oxtail Revelation!Yesterday, a spontaneous detour led me to Da Jerk House, a spot I'd passed countless times. Let me tell you, that detour was one of the best decisions I've made in a while. I went in with a simple hunger, and walked out a devoted fan.Let's talk about the oxtails. Oh. My. Goodness. Tender, flavorful, fall-off-the-bone oxtails that were clearly cooked with love and expertise. They were the star of the show, and rightfully so. But the supporting cast was equally impressive. The rice and peas were perfectly cooked, fluffy and seasoned just right. The cabbage was fresh and vibrant, a delightful counterpoint to the richness of the oxtails. And the sweet plantains? Caramelized perfection.Everything tasted incredibly fresh. You could tell that the ingredients were high quality and that the food was prepared with care. This wasn't just a quick meal; it was a culinary experience.Beyond the incredible food, the customer service was truly exceptional. The ladies working there were warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to serve. They made me feel like a regular, even on my first visit. It's rare to find such genuine hospitality these days, and it made the entire experience even more enjoyable. And let's not forget the portions! For a very reasonable price, I received a generous amount of food. I left feeling completely satisfied, and with enough leftovers for another delicious meal.Da Jerk House has earned a loyal customer in me. I'm already planning my next visit, and I'm bringing reinforcements! If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Caribbean food with outstanding customer service, look no further.Da Jerk House is a must-try.

This is my third time going. The first time I went about 15mins before closing and ordered the jerk chicken. The guy in the back is making my food, and now he comes towards the front and stops and after about 30 seconds of him staring in space, I asked what he was doing. He said well we're about to close and I can't give you cold food. He was warming the food in the microwave!!! What?! I tasted the potential so I gave them a second chance and go way before closing and the jerk was good! Get the sauce on the side!! Not that it's needed. Also, I think they use basmati rice, which I don't care for. This last time I got jerk and oxtail. Why was the oxtail BURNT!! And I mean BURNT!! Mind you, he told me ahead of time I'd have to wait 30mins for the oxtail. Which I willingly did because it was a nice day out and had no plans. So you made me wait for 30mins to serve me BURNT food??!

As we all know, Jamaican food can be pretty pricey, but I have to say, it was worth every penny! I ordered a oxtail and jerk, chicken platter, and it was a delightful surprise to find that it could easily be shared among three of us--all while everyone got plenty to eat! My whole family was over the moon with the delicious food we enjoyed. What a fantastic dining experience!

They give you a heaping amount of food. They give you that love platter to go home with. Their jerk is less spice and a little more sweet saucy. Good portions of meat, the cabbage is fresh, plantains too. Small little place, good vibes.

So good. Food definitely hit the spot. I live in VA but was driving out Maryland and saw the place. Hadn't had Jamaican food in a while. Glad I stopped. It was really good... staff was very nice and my order came out quickly.

It's a Jamaican restaurant run by actual Jamaicans so some things are gonna be off....but that's how you know the food is good. I called to place an order and the guy was a little snippy over the phone. That's when I knew the food was gonna be good. Then when I drove up there there was music playing from a large speaker in front of the store and some older men hanging out in lawn chairs by the parking lot. I thought "this food is about to hit!" And when I saw the cook wipe his hands with the gloves on instead of just putting new gloves on, I thought about cancelling my order but I also knew he's probably the best cook in his family. So, if you don't mind any of that, you get to have some amazing food! I got the curry shrimp, a veggie patty and a bottle of soursop juice. Everything hit! I give the food itself a 6/5 stars. Happy eating!

This was my first time visiting this place. Service was on point and the food was great! This location is carry out only, but it's a cute hidden spot. The only thing I can say is the Mac n cheese was only noodles with a bunch of cheese. I like cheese, but it was a lot for me. Now, the jerk salmon was Babe!!! The sauce was great and I loved the peas and rice! It reminded me of a place I visited in the Bahamas. I will definitely be back!!

Food 10/10 The chicken was delicious. The beef patty was flakey on the outside but savory with the perfect amount of heat!Service 10/10 there were 4 people with orders and one person behind the counter. There was no long wait after I made my order.Ambiance 10/10 there are several benches with tables outside. There are no tables inside. There are bars (against the wall) if you don't mind standing while you eat. The reggae music playing outside will definitely have the party lit. Everyone seemed happy to be there. I understood why after I finished my plate. I am so happy Da Jerk House is here! I plan eating my way through the menu! Won't you join me?

So I went here today because I tried once before and the food was pretty good so I just assumed I would get the same results, but I didn't. First thing I saw the lunch special say $10 for curry chicken and brown stew chicken from 11-2 I believe. I went around 1 so before two. I assumed since brown stew was on the lunch special I didn't have to specific about I wanted the lunch special, but I clearly had to because I ended up pay regular price $15. I didn't pay attention to my totally until I left and it was $24.38. I also got the Mac and cheese and it something about it I can't pin point, but I give it a 5/10. I'm a big cheese person and it doesn't taste like the Caribbean Mac and cheese I've had plenty of times before. I say Caribbean because there definitely taste different from American Mac and cheese. So when I called and asked I was told I was supposed to specific that wanted the lunch special even though it was lunch time. As well as I asked for gravy on my rice and asked again before I left to make sure and lo and behold when I get home there no gravy on my rice. I did like the music playing outside as I pulled up nice vibe.
