Crab Plug

The customer service we received here left a bad taste in our mouths but thankfully the food did not. No cocktails were ordered - since we had to ask for menus, ask for water and ask for utensils it kind of felt like it would be a hassle to get a drink made right and worth the price listed. The menu is limited and for people who aren't from the area (like the crew I was with) it would be nice to have descriptions/pictures so they can understand the references. We had to be clear on what was in the food we were eating and when we asked, the server had an attitude. And we barely knew who the servers were vs customers so some sort of distinction would be nice - name tag/uniform-all black or something/a smile, something. It's never a good feeling for an establishment to set the tone for the customer to feel like they aren't welcomed or that the staff isn't prepared or doesn't want to engage with simple questions about the menu. We ordered the Ruff and Ready Crab Egg-rolls, Treasure Boil, multiple orders of the Buss Down Crabs, chicken wings and onion rings. Based on the atmosphere and subpar customer service we had very low expectations for the food but remained hopeful. Turns out that all the food was good. The egg rolls are full of crab meat and were seasoned nicely - pretty good overall. Now I have to say that the "medium" buss down crabs were TINY. More like a small size, it was giving jumbo crawfish lol. The body of one crab was the same size as one of the shrimp from the boil (pictured) - the buss-down sauce was delicious. I see why they are listed as an appetizer but the crabs we received were the size of our pinky fingers. A few of the crabs weren't fully cleaned out and I know some people don't mind that, but we do. The wings were cooked to perfection with the flavor described as a lemon pepper and honey combination - they were thoroughly enjoyed. The onion rings were great too - large size and the batter seasoned well. The treasure boil was hot, was an ok single serve portion, a few more shrimp wouldn't hurt but it was enjoyed. In the future would we dine in again, no, but would we order food to-go, maybe.

DISCLAIMER: I came here twice before offering an official review. I'm completing my review from the safety of the lavatory. I always want to give BOBs the most credit. I returned to this establishment because they advertised a $15 all-you-can-drink happy hour. What they didn't clarify was that this offer is solely on pre-batched lemon drops and green teas. It would be appreciated if they were transparent about the limited selection. It is also imperative that you note the PRE-BATCHED lemon drop is giving VERY LEMONADE. FOOD: I ordered the buss-downs in my first visit. I was throwing up before I left. In short, they use old seafood and put an amazing sauce on it. During visit 2 my +1 knew better and ordered Lamb Chops (requested medium: arrived well, well,well done). They came out well done and a half. The presentation was insulting. The spice level was not clearly articulated on the menu. It's a boo-hoo. Which far surpasses a boo. He left after paying and tipping because this is a BoB that I recommended. Service: I love the personality of the staff. However, you may never see the food and drinks you've requested. You may never be asked what you are drinking or eating. I hate that for this establishment with so much potential. Briscoe deserves a raise for finding a security vest to settle things. Meanwhile it was clear he was was hired to bartend. That means he's earned two different checks. Ambiance: can you fight? Can you observe when a fight is forthcoming? If not, this ain't for you, Pooh. Respectfully Ambiance: It's a nice look. It's great music. However, you will be irritated as hell awaiting your drink, napkin, straw, food. Overall, they ascribe to every Black business stereotype. I hate that but I feel pulled to keep coming back in hopes they get it right. They haven't. So I remain distraught and disappointed. Please come and tell me if your experience proves me wrong. P.S. Their Ultimate Seafood Pasta ($42 with shrimp, salmon, lobster, & seafood sauces noodles). Creamy sauce, thick salmon, & buttery lobster!!STAMP!! Their Hush Puppies ($7). Second time coming here I'm not sure why this place has anything under 5 stars. The manager is a wonderful person. And the staff wonderful people. The playlist is always on point. I come for the all you can drink happy hour from 3-8pm. We got the lemon drops which were strong and sweet. They keep them coming. I order some wings which were well seasoned and crispy. The mash potato's are one of my favorites. They're cheesy and full of garlic. The hush puppies were crispy with bits of the corn. The onion rings were nicely fried. Lamb chops were a bit small but tender. The meal came with two sides. I love this place, the people and the ambiance. One of the best happy hours in DC I fully recommend.

The food and drinks is always a hit. I came here on a Wednesday for the lamb chops and lemon drops the service from kash & Driscoe was amazing, he was attentive and the drinks was bomb! The music and overall ambience was great. I will definitely be returning.

I honestly don't know where to start! I visited this restaurant for the first time ever last night because IG had me geeked and let me just say I was not impressed!!!!!!!! On top of that an employee took something while at work and passed out. Since I'm in the medicalField I sprung into action and helped. Ambulance was called and more! On top of that a lot of stuff that was promoted on IG no longer existed . $1 hookah for HH was just posted on IG but nope!! No free crab with drinks or anything !!!! Lawddd while eating a group of girls came in and dined and dashed which was crazy cause like what y'all it's 2024!!! I can say TANISHA THE BARTENDER AND WAITRESS AND FOOD RUNNER WAS AMAZING. So much happened and this place tonight ok so let's get into the food ... deep fried deviled egg was ok it was giving sketchy at first because the shrimp didn't look cooked. Plug wings were good! Drinks were good definitely go at HH.. my boil came as a platter which I didn't like and it wasn't saucy !! Idk yall this place was cool but not hell idk but shit !! lol

The lamb chop lemon drop happy hour combo is on point!! Shrimp boil The perfectly seasoned lamb chops melt in your mouth. Drinks on point! Seafood boil

Me and my lady came for the valentine's day $15 all you can drink. We had a great time and good food. Service was good and music was going crazy.

MY FAVORITE PLACE!! It's such a loving and fun atmosphere and the food is AMAZING!! Def a hidden gem in DC
