Cool Runnings Eatery

Came here on a whim after a Dr Appointment. It was in a quiet area and I felt safe and comfortable. There was 1 employee when we got there and she let us know our curry shrimp would be at least 30 minutes. No problem it was fresh made that's a plus .They only have Spicy Beef Patties and they didn't disappoint on the spicy! It was very tasty the flaky crust was delicious unfortunately I couldn't eat it after one bite (my acid reflux was saying no) but my husband happily took it and devoured it! He doesn't even care for Beef Patties so that's telling a lot on how delicious it was!!! Curry Chicken and Shrimp also delicious. We got the coco bread and because the Curry was also spicy it helped taking a bite of the bread to cut the spice for me. The cabbage was unlike any other I've ever had and very very fresh. A plus! We enjoyed our food and would definitely go back!

I was really looking forward to trying Cool Runnings Jamaican Restaurant in White Plains, as I had heard great things about their food. However, after calling to place an order, I was immediately put off by the outrageous prices. I ordered jerk salmon, rice, and cabbage, and was told my total would be $37.00--that's highway robbery!At that price, I expected a meal plated in gold! Needless to say, I canceled my order because while I don't mind paying for quality food, there's a limit to what's reasonable. From what I've heard, the food might be good, but not "take-all-my-money" good.For now, I'll just stick with making the drive to Just Jerk when I want authentic Jamaican cuisine at a decent price. I really hope Cool Runnings reconsiders their pricing because I would love to give them a try--just not at those rates! Rating: N/A (Did Not Try the Food, But Prices Are Wild!)

Oooweee these wingettes got me on fire! They are so good. Cabbage, rice and peas hit just right.

I visited this morning establishment today, I clearly ordered two dinners both with extra meat those being an Oxtail dinner w/extra meat and a Curry Goat w/extra meat..the owner took my order . I then went and sat down and something did not seem right after doing the math I found out she totally over charge me by $22.00... she told me that there is a charge for using a credit card , I then ask her how much was the charge she said that she had no idea..: I'm certain that charge was not $22.. I was warned by a few people to stay away from that place .. I never got to taste the food but the service was horrible. She was hoping that me I would not notice what she was trying to do.. she was extremely rude and non apologetic, I will not be returning

Hubby wanted Jamaican tonight. Tried giving them a call, despite my reservations and sure enough the phone rings someone answers. Then, I'm placed you on hold but no one says anything. So that's it! I'm really good not eating here. Smh, such a disappointment.

The owner/chef was very nice and welcoming. It was my first time and the food was hot when I got there! I ordered ahead due to the food being cooked to order. I also had a rum punch which was great also. I will be back!

It saddens me to write this review for a local non chain restaurant. However, I hope the owner sees this review. Today, 8.19.24, approximately 7:10 p.m., my husband and I visited wanting some oxtails and curry chicken. Our regular spot is closed on Mon. So we decided to check this place out after reading some glowing reviews about the warm service and good food. You get one chance to make a first impression. I want to say wonderful things about the food and how the place looked clean and all the rest, but upon walking in the door, the young lady behind the counter who didn't greet us. Appeared not to be interested in very much of anything, let alone waiting on us. The vibe was so off-putting that we decided to leave without ordering anything. This is sad, and like I said, I hope the owner sees this review and makes the necessary adjustments so they won't lose another customer.

If I could leave zero stars, I would I really wanted to support this place and I love supporting my community. I had an amazing experience at her daughter's restaurant in Baltimore. kitchen klassifieds Café. so she referred me to come and try her mom's restaurant that was closer to me upon showing up to the restaurant where the door said they close at 10 o'clock and the light was on. I showed up around 8:40 to a rude young lady whoI find out later was owners daughter saying that we're closed and we're not taking any more orders, but the door clearly said 10 and the website says 9 I even tried to call ahead of time because I was coming from 30 minutes away and when I said something about it, not even being a 9 o'clock, she turned off the sign and continue to close up . If one thing I will tell the owner is to get your daughter out of your business fast and in a hurry, family will bring your business down because she truly doesn't care about professionalism..

Don't know if the food is good, I couldn't getpast the rude person taking my order. Why must the attitude be apart of the experience... ijs

I've been on the hunt for some official curry goat since I moved to Waldorf 5 years ago. The closest place that i had found was Sapodillas in Ft Washington MD..any other place I've tried in Charles county had not hit the mark....Well, I think I've found a winner! COOOOOL RUNNINGS!! The staff was really friendly (despite some reviews that I read). The lady at the front (which I think was the owner) greeted me very kindly and promptly took my order. The portions were plentiful, and the taste was incredible. Just the right amount of curry flavor and spice. The rice and peas were seasoned, and the cabbage was seasoned perfectly. Had to call the store to thank them for such an incredible meal.I've been back 3 times since then, and everything (service/food) has stayed the same. Salute Cool Runnings... you have a satisfied customer! Keep pushing!!
