I've recently relocated to Hagerstown and Colonial came highly recommended. From the outside, and the inside, it looked, shall we say, rather weatherworn? But if you are looking for food and not just ambiance, this place might surprise you in a good way.The service can sometimes be spotty if they are understaffed, but generally they do a decent job serving our needs. The burgers are very good. The fish and chips were not so good...(definitely tasted from frozen) The biggest surprise though was their prime rib which I will say ranked among the best prime ribs I've enjoyed at any restaurant! perfectly medium rare and tender! oh my yes! If they have it when you go, this is their best thing on the menu. And their fried oysters are definitely worth ordering too! For locals, they do offer a rewards program where you can earn points for $10 off a future visit. Do check them out.

At first glance I was a little hesitant however upon entering it was a nice homey place to hang out. Our server did a great job and the food was really good. Plenty of parking available. I would definitely go back if I were in the area.

Kind of an older looking bar and restaurant inside. A little divey, but the drinks and food were good and the service was great. It's also an easy Uber / Lyft ride from the airport if you fly in. I'll definitely be back to try more of their food.

We are on a road trip and the hotel had the Colonial as a recommendation. We're so glad that we stopped in! As others have mentioned, the building and the Inn associated with it are comfortably Rustic. Upon entering the small foyer there are two doors that brought to mind the Red & Blue capsule choices in the movie 'Matrix' - one door lead directly into the (sports) bar and the other into the restaurant. There was a decent crowd of Locals & Regulars for a Saturday around 7PM. You can seat yourself at any table in the restaurant or bar. Both rooms have TV's and the NFL Wildcard games were playing which added to the atmosphere with each play and interception. The staff were all Great and friendly. There was a full menu and our meals were delicious, hot, and plentiful. The Drinks were perfect as well. We were in no hurry and that worked in our favor having time to chill and take it all in between courses. This is a "come as you are"/casual place where leaving your ball-cap on is perfectly acceptable.If we lived local this would be one of our Go-To places for a meal

After driving an hour from Gettysburg apparently they have 6 things to order on weekends which is weird .. so the hamburgers are one. Had a coke an we left to find lunch somewhere else
