Do you ever get that suddenly cinco feeling? If so, you mayo need a taco. What to get: Horchata, Tacos, Tortas. What else: I Torta saw a puddy tat.Cinco De Mayo is exceptional, authentic, hole-in-wall sit down Mexican food in Baltimore. The best tacos I've had in Maryland and some of the best Horchata I've heard anywhere in the country. Oh I meant, had anywhere in the country. I haven't heard any Horchata lately. Unfortunately. There are 3 (maybe more) locations of CDM that I know about, and the Horchata is similarly excellent at all of them, as are the tacos and tortas. This may be the original (not sure), but it's not the best. The one a few blocks further West, while having less tables and being hidden in the back of a grocery store, has better, fresher, faster food and slightly better horchata. But the nuances are slight and the decor and sit-down experience here is superior, so you may wish to come here instead.By the way this is the one next door to the similarly good Sinaloa.Baltimore isn't blessed with the world's best food but there are some real stellar gems, and this is one of them. If you only come for the Horchata, it will still be worth it. Some of the best in the country.Mayo the force be with you, and mayo soon cinco your teeth into these tacos.

Don't be put off by the store front or the entryway. This place looks like a grocery store, but if you walk inside and wine your way through a couple of turns you will find a small but comfortable dining area.I ordered the three grilled chicken, Polo Asado, tacos. They were fantastic. Simple but tasty. Loaded with grilled white meat chicken. On the side there were juicy, fresh limes and grilled peppers. The chips and salsa were outstanding too.Service was fast and friendly.Only complaint, they rolled out a mop bucket filled with a very strong smelling cleaner right in the middle of my meal. It took about 10 minutes for the smell to dissipate. The chips and salsa were outstanding to.Service was fast and friendly.Only complaint, they ruled out a mop bucket filled with a very strong smelling cleaner right in the middle of my meal. It took about 10 minutes for the smell to dissipate. I am NOT hyper sensitive to smells, but this was pretty strong. But to end on a good note, I walked out stuffed to the gills and satisfied. And the price was less than $10.

Be prepared for an authentic experience down to the hole in the wall space and ordering in Spanish. I get the al pastor or carne burrito and it's hugeee. Delish!

Really good no frills Mexican food that makes me feel like I am home in Texas. I've only been here once but it will likely replace by trips to R&R Taqueria out in Elkridge/White Marsh. Like a standard tex mex restaurant they provide free chips and salsa. I had the enchiladas with salsa verde and the portion could have lasted me three meals if I had more self control. The salsa was fresh and perfectly tangy. The meat itself could have been better quality but the tortillas were so fresh.I am excited to go back and try more menu items.

I'm assuming that this restaurant is associated with the Cinco De Mayo on Central and Eastern. I've been to that one several times and the menus look similar. The difference is that this location doesn't have an attached grocery store and there's a little more seating available. I've noticed that the staff here work hard and service is great. I tried to order different things than at the other location. The taco's are cheap and good. Quesadillas are HUGE and calzone-like. Definitely a good bang for your buck. The carne asada and fajitas are also meant to feed giants. They come with fresh tortilla, avocado, lettuce, and tomatoes. The complementary chips and guacamole are also a win. The guac itself is a little more liquidy that other places. I think it's Cinco De Mayo's own recipe, but it's good nonetheless.

So I ate here yesterday and it was actually really good. Yes, there's only one server, but she is attentive and friendlier than I expected after reading the reviews. I had the chips which came with an odd yet tasty guacamole type dip. It didn't taste like any guac I've tried before. It might not have even been guacamole! If anyone wants to comment on that...I also ordered a tamale with salsa verde, which was really good. Very moist, lots of shredded pork (?). The verde sauce was ridiculously spicy! I poured it on my tamale before trying it and had the same experience with it as I do most ridiculously spicy foods - pretending I'm on Man v Food. I loved it though. I had ordered a burrito which is seriously the biggest burrito I've ever seen in my life. I ate half of a half for lunch, am stuffed, and will probably have halves of halves for the next week or so. Apart from the size, the burrito is yummy. Well seasoned rice, beans, pork, a nice salsa, crema, onion. It's much better than a Chipotle burrito and less expensive and just enormous. Glad I decided to go!

I just recently did a three day stint of eating tortas everyday...Because they are SO good! Both Cinco de Mayo and their Dos locations have delightfully mouthwatering foods. The bread is warm, meat a plenty, and sauces on point.Cheap, delicious, and homemade. Get it!

After reading the reviews we had to give it a try. What a great place. We had the Pastor Burrito which was excellent. The waitress was very friendly and provided great service.

Authentic style tacos are a little different from what Taco Bell would have us believe. I still have a fondness for the spicy beef tacos I had growing up as a kid, and I have somehow managed to inherit my mothers keen ability in burning taco shells under the broiler.Cinco de Mayo (I went to the one on Eastern Avenue next to Tortilleria Sinoloa) has authentic style tacos and tons of other menu choices. And starts everyone with some chips and this green stuff. The chips are crispy and crunchy with a nice salty fry. The green stuff - I dunno what that is - there isn't much flavor, but a thickish consistency. I say skip it.Now to the tacos - I found the tortillas perfectly golden, adding a nice touch. We went with three tacos: fish, barbacoa and carnitas; they were out of the lengua or we would have tried that too... The meat fillings were a little better on this side, than next door. The barbacoa was tender with a slight bbq char flavor. I liked the carnitas, the pork was also tender, but not oily. The fish was a little dry the day I was there, but overall - this is a go to place - all this food for $13.

Si! It's real Mexican food, although I cannot place the region. We were the only people in there but by the time we left the (small) space had filled up. There were other gringos, like us, but also men and women who you could tell were coming here because the food tasted like "home" to them. And I really admire that about a restaurant. They served veggies (as in veggie tacos and burritos) but you have to ask for them because they aren't on the menu. The creamy avocado dip was really good and the chips were homemade. My wife got a huge plates of enchiladas with rojo sauce that she overall enjoyed although it looked a bit thick compared to the others she's ordered in NM and AZ. They served Mexican sodas and I got a grapefruit one, because, why not drink 300 calories of sugar!? I'm pretty sure they don't sell booze here, we didn't see it in the fridge or on the menu, although I could be wrong because we also didn't ask for any.Our waitress's English was great, so don't be afraid to try here based off lack of knowledge of espanol!
