This place rocks, not only does it have a great bar for a couple of night caps it also has a great little menu for a late night snack, or some desert, which was what my party came in for.We came in just about five minutes before the food part closed, and Cathy the server could not have been nicer. She took our order for fries, strawberry cheese cake, and this warm chocolate cookie (which I had) with vanila ice cream, chocolate, and caramel sauce, with whipped cream on top, it was decadently good.It was the perfect ending for a great day at the Maryland Renaissance Faire.

I've stayed in the Comfort Inn a couple times and have eaten in the restaurant each time. As others have pointed out, breakfast is a buffet style and the food is okay at best. It is included with the price of the room, so I can't complain. The restaurant is much better for dinner. The burgers are incredibly good and are relatively cheap. The crab cakes aren't the best I've had, but are good for a low end hotel chain restaurant. The bartenders and wait staff are always pleasant and attentive. If you are staying at this hotel, do yourself a favor and have dinner at Chessie's.

To be honest up front, we didn't eat here but I have reasons...First this place was harder to find than originally thought. There is some signage out front but it is at the road not on the building. Don't be fooled, this is the breakfast bar in the morning and the lunch buffet and diner for the hotel. Go in the main entrance and it is immediately on your left. That's right, I said buffet. Normally I wouldn't shy away from a buffet but this one looked and smelled too off. As we were leaving, my wife hit it on the button by saying it reminded her of hospital food. A positive for the buffet, it was cheap. You can guess why for yourself....If you're staying in this hotel or are there for a conference, I'd say give it a try. There isn't too much around to walk to so you're stuck there. And who knows, maybe the kitchen and bar at night are good. Best of luck, we won't be back.

The past week saw us on the road and the Comfort Inn and Conference Center this restaurant resides in was our last stop on our way home.I never have any great expectations when it comes to hotel restaurants, usually opting for them out of shear road weariness, but in the past I admit I have been pleasantly surprised on more than one occasion. Such is the case with Chessie's Chesapeake Grille. We had been eating seafood on our trip and hoped to continue our streak given the hotel's proximity to Annapolis, MD and the Chesapeake Bay. We were in luck... prominently featured on the menu were crab cakes so we ordered. I had the sandwich with fries and Beverly had the two crab cake dinner with saute'd veggies and a black bean and corn salsa. The crab cakes were advertised a lump meat and they were. They were MD style, light on the breading and with a sprinkle of Old Bay seasoning and done just right. I'm tough when it comes to crab cakes, these passed my taste test and Beverly's too!As with most hotels in or near major urban areas, this hotel is surrounded by chain restaurants. Unless you're just looking for a cheap burger or taco, take my advise and stay in and enjoy a meal and drink at Chessie's.

Went in for a burger night it was a new event they are doing on Mondays. I didn't even realize this restaurant was here but what a hidden gem! Went in sat at the bar with Amanda(bartender) and she was upbeat, friendly, and funny. She talked me into a BBQ Burger. It was a hand made burger on a toasted bun with ham, cheddar cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce, and an onion ring! I went with the house fries for a side and it was absolutely delicious! The fries were fresh. The meat was fresh. The taste was excellent. The best part was the price I think I paid $6-$7 for that giant burger. Even the chef came out to interact with us as well as the servers(Carmen) it was just a great experience overall. Amanda made me a few margaritas(also excellent) and the price was pretty good for drinks as well. Now that I know it's here I will definitely be back! I read over the regular menu and I can't wait to try more of their cooking. Keep up to great work guys!! If you're in Bowie skip the chains and go have a drink and real meal at this little restaurant. It may not be known now but I'm sure the good word will spread.

Surprisingly good crab cakes. Service was excellent. Tami was covering the bar and the restaurant, yet everyone was well attended. Not what I expected from a Comfort Inn restaurant. Nothing fancy but a good experience overall.
