Char'd Barbecue

I like bbq places that actually have real smoke flavor! Add in some homemade sauces and sides and we're on to something!!Staff were very friendly, and patient, as we considered what we wanted to sample. We went with a three meat platter so we could try a bunch. Brisket was moist and flavorful. Pork was smoky and tender. Sausage was a tad on the dry side but with a gentle dip in their homemade sauce and it was great.Sides were good and there was a nice little tree covered area with picnic tables to enjoy lunch. AND, there happens to be an awesome ice cream place right on the other side of the parking lot, if you have room for dessert.

I had visited the snowball place across the parking lot recently and saw this great barbecue place. I wasn't hungry for barbecue that day so I figured I would come back on another day. That happened to be just yesterday and we started off with snowballs and then moved over to this barbecue place to get a two meat platter. I opted to get the pulled pork and the pit beef. For my sides I decided to try the macaroni and cheese with chopped brisket and the apple sauce. It came with a choice of cornbread or a roll and I opted for the cornbread and made sure that they heard it because I love cornbread. What I didn't realize was that it automatically came with cornbread and my specifying. I ordered a separate order of it which came with this unbelievably delicious sweet honey butter that was already melted. Starting with the cornbread it was fantastic. It had almost like a honey butter crust to it which just made it amazing. It was flavorful and didn't even need any melted butter. The meat itself was good, but it definitely needed some type of sauce. The pit beef especially was very bland by itself and needed a kick to it. I had ordered the original barbecue sauce and it came in a small cup which was barely enough for half of the meat. Having not been here before I would have gotten multiple cups of sauce but since we took the barbecue to go I didn't realize it until we got home. The mac and cheese with chopped brisket was on point. The mac and cheese was just right. The brisket in the mac and cheese was flavorful. It wasn't too salty and it just made for a delicious side. The applesauce was homemade from Baughers, which is a local restaurant nearby. It was quite delicious and I would have loved to have had more of it. Others in my party had similar experiences with the meat. They would have loved to have had more sauce because it was bland to them as well. The only thing that differed in terms of their sides is that they got beans and they really didn't like them. They weren't sure what type of beans were used and it wasn't your standard type of big themes. As they were in more of a vinegar type sauce. They also had coleslaw which I don't care for but they said that was very good and a good addition as a side to their meal.So for those of you reading this review, I would highly recommend to get a couple one more containers of sauce.All in all this was a good find right next to an amazing snowball and ice cream stand. Always have great food and an experience here. Great location and lots to do. The combination of the animals, the concert venue, the rotating breweries, the animal farm, and the nursery - I'm here quite a bit

Both the food and the service are always top notch. The o my down side they're only open Friday-Sunday.

Best pit turkey around. Love how they have special sandwiches occasionally. The collard greens are great too!

This barbecue place is surprisingly good. The brisket was nice and tender. Very enjoyable to eat. The pit turkey was good as well. For my sides I had Mac and cheese mix with brisket and cheesy potato. Both were excellent. The cornbread was great. I haven't had a good tasty cornbread in a very long time. It was moist and sweet. I will definitely be back to this barbecue joint.

If you find yourself in Uppercoe, leave some meal space to stop at Char'd Barbecue! The brisket was amazing, the pull pork delicious, and one in our party got the Cubano which he said "That's the best, damn sandwich I've ever had!" A plethora of sides for every preference, but my favorite was the brisket Mac n cheese and the collard greens - fantastic! Enjoy! We sure did!

The best BBQ spot in the entire state of Maryland! I only wish that it was closer to the city of Baltimore. The outdoor setting for their tables is pleasant but it always seems windy whenever I head up there. Their baked beans are excellent. The Mac n' Cheese is okay enough. Love their cornbread. Their prices are right for the high quality of food they serve.

Great place to get bbq and support local business. I love the pastrami but the other meats are good, too. I also like collards when they are available. This place has outdoor seating on benches so if weather is bad that is an issue if you want to eat at the place. You can get your food to go so problem solved!Enjoy!

We go all the time. Sometimes you'll get lucky and get a free concert. The music is loud enough you can hear it from the tables. Brisket is excellent and so is the Mac and cheese. Wasn't a huge fan of the beans but that's just my preference. You can't go wrong here.
