Charcoal Grill

I don't know why it's taken me so long to review Charcoal Grill. This is my local favorite and I think I'm here at least every other week. Their fries are the perfect boardwalk fry and in the summer the sandwiches are perfect to avoid cooking lol! This is the second time I've tried the fried dough and my son loved it. The Melba sauce was perfect! If you haven't been to Charcoal Grill this summer add it to your list!! Plus they have a points system and send coupons. I think the also have coupons in the Valu Packs.

I grew up in the area and was looking forward to a pit beef sandwich. I was taken back at the woman taking my order. I mean the personality of cardboard. Really made me think twice if I wanted to order food. I remember staff being so nice and asking if they could help. I ordered the value meal. I was shocked that the price listed didn't include the sandwich. So 2 value meals cost me $30. Not sure how much of a value I really got. Anyways, the pit bees was very tasty. I am not sure about that bun. It was gummy when eat not to mention it was cold. What ever happened to a warm káiser roll, like it was served in the past? The fries were a generous portion. I really could have bought one value meal and divided the fries for 2-3 people. I gave a 4 star only because the beef was very tasty and a great portion. I wish the service was better. I guess I should have taken note that no one else was in the parking lot. I remember when this place was always packed.

I've been coming here for 20 years now with my family. Even when we moved from Parkville to Louisville of all places, we'd come back to the Charcoal Grill when we'd visit just to get a meal. It's really easy going, good, fried and open flamed food. Nothing gets better than that during a Ravens or O's game. Known as a local staple, I'd highly recommend the pit beef or honestly, the chicken tenders are the most underrated item in the menu. Kids menu is great too for a snack!Prices are still beyond fair considering the times we're in. They get you in and out in less than 10 minutes every single time for 20 years.It's also in the parking lot of a liquor store so there's a benefit/ conflict there. Benefit being, gameday is made easy, conflict is, no parking. But that's okay! Hang the first right out of the parking lot and then another immediate right and there is an enormous empty parking lot! 1/15/22-This place has went downhill. I foolishly ordered the 1/2 rack rib dinner. I knew I was in for disappointment when I felt the lightness of the bag( not even 10 0z is my guess) in which this fake rib dinner came in. Next I laughed at the fake mini prepackaged cornbread and the smallest 1/2 rack of ribs I've ever seen( Applebees' riblets would put these infant sized ribs to shame). To say I was underwhelmed would be an overstatement. To top it off my ribs were ice cold ten minutes after I picked up my meal and the baked beans were straight out of the can with no seasoning or taste. Don't even get me started about the bland potato salad.Besides the small serving size and cold meat..... Nothing had any flavor. In addition my Wife ordered a pit turkey sandwich that she said tasted like a cheap deli meat sandwich. I will not be returning to this restaurant ever again as it was highly disappointing.

Service was good. Ordering not a problem, but menu hard to comprehend. Prices were not too bad, but I spent over $20 for 2 sandwiches and plus 2 fries and drink combos. No line at the time. Cash/credit is accepted. Once I was home, I thought the size of the fries were bigger I will say we enjoyed our sandwiches. The sauce on my pit beef was tangy and hit the spot. This place is just as good as Chaps. We will be back for more. We do get coupons in the pennysaver.

Recently moved to the area and went here on two occasions I was very underwhelmed by the hot dogs and the pit beef w Cheddar was lukewarm and slimy. The only thing I liked was the fries.

I have been going there for 15 years and the food has always been very good. The wait for food is lightning quick and the service is fast and friendly. Mike is a real 5 star chef with the Pit Beef. The fries are really tasty and not greasy. I have to purchase the large order because I have to share them with my dogs. Everyone know that dogs love french fries. The BBQ chicken is a the best meal you will every eat. The well-done BBQ chicken is so tender, it is falling off of the bone. And the BBQ sauce is so good, I buy it by the pint and use it at home.

That was my third visit in that place and I think the last one the first time I order a sandwich and the fries wait approximately 10 minutes for a simple sandwich which was nothing special really blends in those spices and pretty dry the second time how far when I order on the fries they'll be like a minute nope wait another 10 minutes for large fries and the third time I order Italian sausage that was seven bucks not worth the money sausage was just Sam's Club sausage with enormous bun

Well in the 2 years since my review I moved. I had the opportunity to get my favorite wings again last night. Terrible...they wernt crispy the way the used to be. They looked raw then covered in sauce, they were hot so I started eating and gave up after 2-3 wings figuring id rather not take a chance. My wifes turkey sandwich was dry and bland. No thanks, Ill take my fond memories and move on.

Placed a rather large on-line order. The ordering process was impossible without the app. There was no place to indicate that I wanted to have all the sauces. With 6 sandwiches that shouldn't have been difficult. When we went to pick up the food the person taking the orders was rude and snarky. "We are going to charge you for all those extra sauces" is how I welcomed. What? I didn't order every sauce for every sandwich. I realized I forgot to order fries and she again took attitude with the fact that she had to walk 3 steps to let the servers know. Eye rolls and everything The food- It was all fairly good. Quite frankly not the best and the poor attitudes of the employee I will choose to go elsewhere.
