I'm in love with Catonsville Gourmet. Both the cocktail and food menus are extensive. So many delicious options for drinks, appetizers, main courses and desserts! I was able to snag a cozy booth, which is my preference. We ordered Crab and Lobster Dip and Baltimore Crispy Shrimp Bites as appetizers for the table. Both were delivered fresh and hot. The bread for the dip is perfectly crispy, dip is filled with chunks of crab. Not sure how much lobster is in there, it was wolfed down before we took a survey! Our main courses were single and double crabcakes, Today's Fresh Catch (rockfish) served blackened for one dish, blackened in a pasta for the other. All the drinks were on point. My Mai Tai was worth a return trip! Finally, I really wanted the Smith Island Lemon Coconut cake which they didn't have. I tried the chocolate (peanut butter?) Wouldn't order again. We arrived around 5:15pm. There were lines in 2 directions when we left. Our hostess was polite, our server was joyfully outstanding. If Catonsville Gourmet isn't on your dinner rotation list, add it. Thank me later!

I sat at the sushi bar with sat friends for a quick lunch. I ordered the oysters as a little snack. They were a bit small, but fresh. The French Onion soup was good, but I felt it was a bit salty and lacked depth in the flavor. I enjoyed it, but it needed a little something. The Ahi Tuna Nachos were my favorite and the seaweed salad in the middle was great, as well. Catonsville Gourmet has a calm vibe that's great for a lunch or dinner to catch up with family or friends. The service was good too.

They have wonderful specials! Their crab and lobster dip was also very good. The building used to be a hardware store and I love that you can still see some saved remnants of that in the back of the restaurant. They don't do reservations, but a 30 minute call ahead is allowed. We went on a Saturday evening and it wasn't too packed. For our table of 4, I don't think we needed the call ahead.

This place is such a classic Catonsville stop, and one of my favorites. From the service to the wine list and bread fresh to your table, to the entrees (my husband loves the rockfish) and people watching you can do from the front windows, this restaurant always puts a smile on my face. If we're going to Catonsville Gourmet, I can rely on being satisfied.

I've been to the sister restaurants in Towson. The menu looks similar. We visited at lunchtime on a Friday and the restaurant was packed. The ambiance at the Catonsville location isn't as modern as the one in Towson but has some charm. This time I orders the Hutzlers sandwich which is the shrimp salad sandwich. It was good. I didn't like that the bread got soggy so I decided to just eat the shrimp. I like that there wasn't a lot of mayo. The potato chips were okay, although I got some stale ones. My dining mates ordered the Angry Bayou mussels and fried oyster salad, which I've had in the past in Towson. Our server was good and kept checking in on us.

This restaurant earns the right to call itself gourmet. My friends and I have been here a few times and enjoyed the food ever time. It specializes in seafood though does offer a good menu of beef and chicken dishes as well. On our recent trip I ordered their crabcake entree which came with fresh beans and a tasty diced potato hash. You have the choice of ordering one or two crab cakes. I was satisfied with just one though if I was especially hungry in sure I would have wanted two. The crab cake used only the bear minimum of filler to hold it together, which is to say is mostly fresh, flavorful and moist crab meet! Lightly seasoned, so that the crab meat could really stand out. My friend ordered the grilled fresh Tuna steak which was seasoned with a light teriyaki sauce and on a bed of Asian seasoned rice. The seared tuna was done perfectly with a warm red center. The platter was generous...guaranteeing the need for a takeout box! Service was friendly and courteous, attentive without being intrusive. Ambiance was pleasant, raw bar atmosphere... which is also one of this restaurant's specialties. Parking is behind the building and can achallenge to find a space at peak service hours.

I went during lunch time, very quiet on a Monday. The service was quick! The music was chill and my food was absolutely delicious! It was the perfect amount of food too I only took a little bit back home with me. The only annoying thing were the gnats flying around. Otherwise everything was pretty nice!I I'd probably come back again.

Great atmosphere, heavy on the fish options, had to send one of ours back undercooked (flakey fish that didn't t flake) but they made it right. Solid apps, prompt seating, friendly service.
