My partner and I had seen this place when we first moved in and for some reason got very curious about it. We vowed that once we were vaccinated it would be the first place we ate at in person, and though we didn't have very high expectations, we were blown away! The bartender was incredibly friendly and made us a couple of margs. We ordered the Plato Tipico as well as some sort of shrimp in creamy sauce. Both were off the salvadoran portion of the menu, and both were unbelievably good. The portions were big enough for both of us to bring home seconds for later (that we ended up devouring only a few hours after getting home) and both had a great amount of variety in what was on the plate. Best Mexican/Salvadoran food in Baltimore by far, and top 5 that we have ever had in general. Cannot wait to return

The Plato tipico... Salvadorian treats harmonizing perfectly on a platter! I have cone here for 3 years and always get the bistec mexicano or the cajun chkn n shrimp pasta which are both 5 out of 5 (tho the pasta is a bit greasy). I branched out n got the plato tipico which had some steak, beans, a pork n cheese pupusa, corn tamale, plantains, and maybe rice. Everything was cooked to perfection. Everything bursting with flavor. My bf told me he had never heard me moan so much eating a meal. If i had to choose a last meal on earth this just might be it! Hands down orgasmic food lol

If i could give this place Zero Stars i would. I used to come here with friends & family & it was great, but i recently took my family here telling them how great i thought they were just to be disappointed. First the waitress asked for ID but seemed like she didn't know what year to start counting from so she asked for our age anyways, Then our alcoholic drinks were Hot. After we ordered our food i had to get up probably around 5 times and walk towards her to ask for things because she wouldn't come around to check on us btw we were her only table because place was empty she was on her phone & last but not least Food was TERRIBLE i asked my Steak & it was BURNT when i told her about it she brushed it off, then when the bill came around i said i wouldn't pay for it because i only had one bite & i could taste burnt meat! She said it was well done which it wasn't it was BURNT after going back & forth about it she took it out of my bill, but still i will NEVER be coming back to this place or recommending any of my friends anymore. Carlos OCharlies needs to do better with Staff!!! BTW Gratuity was included in check almost $20 and tbh she did NOT deserve that tip at all!

I came here for a company meeting. I had never heard of this place so I had no expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. We had an open bar (no more needs to be said about that :) Our menu consisted of Caesar salad, salmon, pasta with shrimp, chicken, and veggies, rice, and steak. Everything was perfectly seasoned. The salmon (which is easily overcooked) was expertly baked in a savory butter sauce. The steak was marinated and cooked medium-medium well and the pasta was creamy, but different from Alfredo and it kept well (I took some leftovers and ate them a couple days later). All in all great experience! The space is large so if you're looking for somewhere to hold an event this place is a great option. Plus the parking is free after 6!

First!OK, So I was in the neighborhood on foot last Sunday and need to get some dinner before I went grocery shopping otherwise I'd come home with Snickers ice cream bars and a whole cooked chicken. I hear this is a good place to watch an O's game. Maybe in the spring that will be something to do. Carlos O'Charlies is a mix of Salvadorean, Mexican and American food. The bar is a decent size and beers are modestly priced. I really wanted a burger but I figured this place probably didn't specialize in gringo food even though they had it on the menu. What the hell. Ordered up a Charlie Burger and a pork pupussa. Burger was ok. Nothing to cause for a repeat in the future though. Pupussa was big and cheap $2 for a nice size pupussa that wasn't too greasy. The place was a bit slow and I was the only pale face in the house but service was nice if slow. I'd come here again to do some more exploring because it's close but It's not a place I will rave about right now. I could be surprised in the future though.

I ventured into this place as a part of the Morgan State Homecoming activities. I got a couple of white wines. I used my Visa to pay for it. I woke up the next morning at 9:45 am with my phone ringing off the hook. It was Visa fraud prevention. The person on the line was asking me if I'd used my credit card at the Detroit Red Wings store...or if I was trying to check into a Trump property in Joliet Illinois. Um...no. I am in Baltimore. Now I am not saying the purchase of the white wine via credit card at Carlos O'charlies is connected to the telephone call. But it is the only place I used my Visa that weekend. Only used it because they do not take AmEx.

ambiance is dry AF. it's dark and the music is super loud you can't even hear the 4 television that are all showing the same channel at the bar. bartender was also not very customer centric. I haven't had the food but I got full with just the amount of dryness this place has. they have a "happy hour" from 4-7pm that when asked about they say they don't have any specials haha. so thats that..all in all, I don't think it's the best place to come and sit for lunch or dinner..take out might be good..as far as dine-in ..AVOID AVOID AVOID
