Captain Joe's Crabs and Seafood

Okay so, compared to the crab cakes in the area, this place is not even close BUT for the price and quick order, it's perfect. Some of these reviews made me nervous, especially when talking about the rude ermployees but the person that helped us at the register was super friendly. He even told us what he prefers to eat from the menu himself. Overall, if I was craving a real crabcake, this place wouldn't be my choice but if I wanted some quick and easy delicious fried foods, I would definitely place an order.

Well i'll take responsibility for not reading these reviews before we stop past this spot just to get some fresh/hot 2lbs of Spice Shrimp.. We were in the area getting ice cream from a different store in the parking lot and remember Captain Joe's used to be decent.. However, that's then and this is now.. I mean I should've been alarmed when I seen how it looked from the outside and the smells that were coming from this establishment.. But see I tried to look past it..smhBottom line is everyone knows your spice shrimp is supposed to be fresh-fresh and hot. Listen, I got half way down 301 and tried to sample my order and was extremely disappointed..First of off my 2lbs looked and felt light?? Maybe 4 pieces of the 2lbs of the shrimp was warm. Yes I said warm, those pieces wasn't even hot.. I felt bamboozled and deceived! My $40 gone down the drain, and while I'm headed half way down the road..I guessed they figured I wouldn't try it in the car on the way home huh, for me to discover they worked me.. They got over on me yesterday and I don't appreciate it..I won't be going back. They just lost a customer with a large family who frequent restaurants in the area regularly doing the week and weekends.. We certified! Just check my reviews l..Basically, yesterday horrible experience lead me here with this 1 star review..Absolutely not,I don't recommend this spot!!

Best fried fish in the whole St. Charles area! I have purchased fish here since 2008. Capt. Joe and his wife are super friendly. They would even bring food out to my car when I was sick and could not make it into the restaurant. Good people, good food, excellent place!

Everytime I visit Maryland I always look for a good crab place. Since crabs are out of season it took awhile to find this location. I ordered a mix of the medium female and male crabs extra spicy. They were definitely fresh and well seasoned. The size was exactly how they described it in the picture and it was worth the price. The restaurant is small and they have seats where you can sit while you wait for your order. Basically this is a takeout location.The best thing about this restaurant is they are open seven days and they offer freshly prepared crabs throughout the year. I would definitely come back again.

In town for just a day and stumbled across this wonder! Lettuce first state that I'm French Fries Number One Fan! Man do I love a nice French Fry and boy was I served the best of them! This review is a 4star simply from the love I felt eating eat one! My combination platter came with 2 Whiting Fish, 6 House Jumbo Shrimp, 6 House Hush Pups, two hands full of those lovely French Fries, and 3 House Sauces! (I ate more than half of my meal before thinking to stop to take photos; but even with what I had remaining leftovers shall be delightful!)My total was only $13.78 and the Snapple drinking was $1.69! All was enjoyed and was worthy of each cent spent. When in the White Plains MD area I shall return!

I got shrimp and crab balls and both were very oily and yucky. The crab balls were extremely salty. Did not feel good after eating.

The worst don't waste your time or money!!!Now normally I like to wait at least 2-3 times before I write a negative review. But this place most definitely won't get the chance to disappoint me twice...Now let's start off by saying I LOVE CRABS!!! I'm from Mississippi Hell It's Crab Season Year Round! I got off work late and knew I wouldn't make it to one of my two goto spots here in the Waldorf area!!! But I just had to have some crabs. My coworker reminded of this little spot located right next to her bank. I was extremely ex it's because it was directly on my way home. I called ahead and placed my order for 2dozen to go I was told 20 minutes and they'd be ready...1st off I made a few stops to waste time and still ended waiting 45 minutes for my crabs... (that wasn't too bad however you'll know why soon)Fast forward I get home melt my butter it my paper out and prepare myself for a feast. I grab 7 crabs out the bag!!! They are nice and heavy I'm excited I break the 1st one open... MUSH!!! Mushy mush the worst thing in the world is an old Crab... im hoping that this was a one time thing but to my dismay I opened up 16 more and they all were the same I shook my head and said I KNEW IT!!! There was no sense in calling to complain because was I read reviews they were all the same saying they were rude and didn't give refunds on crabs... needless to say Moe's in Accokeek or Moe's in White Plains is the only place I will get crabs in Southern MD.

Yesterday was my 63 birthday and I wanted seafood. We tried Captain Joe's for the first time. I got the perch, favorite fish. I was excited but OMG the perch fish was transparent, meaning not cooked properly. I Put it in oven no change, it's was still mushy and under cooked. I was very disappointed

Very good service, and also quicker than I would have expected. The person servicing us was very nice and welcoming. The food was also better than I thought it would be, given the reviews. It's just a waiting room, no place to sit and eat, but we knew that going in. Overall, I'd come back here again.

The food is good but the attitudes of the owners are nasty I've gotten food from here before and it was really good it's just the attitude of the owner
