Callahan's Seafood Bar & Grill

Several of us ate here last night. It was very good. The fried shrimp and the crab imperial were delicious. The cheeseburger was also very good. The Caesar and Hiuse salads (blue cheese dressing) were very good. The house salad could of had a little less cheese! Our server was excellent and seemed to really care about his role. I will say the French fries were not very good (not hot and tough). The ambiance was OK; but the place needs a some cleaning in the dining area (dusty ships in window and windows need cleaned). We enjoyed our meal and it's a very fair price!

Wha there mid-Afternoon recently. Enter into Bar area, for a carry out.I waited 20 minutes at the bar, instead of taking my carry out, bartender was more interested in serving drinks. I don't drink so when I finally got my food which was a Crab cake that should've had Cold slaw and normally cooked fry's. What I got was a meager Crab cake with yellow lettuce and burned up fry's. The Carry out was cold as I lived close by. The whole order was lousy at a cost of $25.

This is a great place to stop in for a cool beverage while waiting on a Take Out Order! Strangely enough they make the BEST Reuben Sandwich I have had in a long time. SUPER crispy, all the right amounts of Corned Beef/Sauerkraut/Thousand Island Dressing on lovely Marbled Rye. I just keep ordering it. Consistent, which is rare. OH!!!! They MAKE THEIR OWN POTATO CHIPS, in numerous flavors. Delicious! Comes with the sandwiches. Or as a stand alone order which I have done LOL!The bar staff are a blast, they have darts and Keno, and just plain fun to stop in after work.We have also tried some of their seafood items, and while a little pricey, my husband loves their Crab Cake Sandwich!Give them a try, it will be worth your while!

We went because of the positive reviews on Yelp. However, our dining experience on a date night here was terrible. We asked about the freshness of the lobsters - and the waitress assured us that they were fresh. 45 minutes later, we inquired about the delay of our meals. Waitress explained that they were thawing the lobsters. So, frozen, not fresh. Misrepresented information. To add to that, when dinner finally arrived, the outer parts of the lobsters were tough and rubbery from being overcooked, and the insides were raw and inedible. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she offered to pack us one free lobster to go. We declined. They ended up giving us a 35% discount. .

The food was a little greasy, I got the seafood. The service was excellent. They were on it the entire time. It is a bar scene. There was an argument between 2 patrons while I was there. They were yelling and threatening each other across the bar. Im sure that's not the norm. I haven't been back yet.

I went to Callahan for Friday night karaoke. It was starting very chilled and then quickly turned into busy around 10-11ish (only bar area). I only got drinks, it was very affordable overall. I like the bartender, he was very friendly. I'd go back for some food, and maybe more karaoke nights!

Wonderful staff - very friendly & jovial. You feel like a part of the family there. The bartenders are so nice. I enjoy the karaoke night & watching folks play darts. It's just a laid back atmosphere with no pretense. :)

Thursday night stopped by for some beer and to catch the O's game. Friendly crowd and bartender. Maybe 25 people at most in the bar. Asked for a menu at 9:01 and was told kitchen closed at 9. It's 9:26 and kitchen is bringing out food to other tables. Yea, they ordered before 9:01 but come on.... I was offered soup or salad. I've had food here before and it was decent, if not good. Crab imperial was on point, wings, apps etc very good. But come on..... this place is dead for a Thursday and they must want me to go somewhere else. I would if the game wasn't almost over. They must make a ton of money to roll this way on a Thursday, while the O's game is on and the NFL draft. Do better!

I came for lunch on a Friday and the place was empty so I was seated and served very quickly. I ordered 2 dishes from the 'small plate' section and couldn't finish it all but it rewarmed well for dinner. I sometimes don't need the lemon for my seafood but I highly recommend it here the citrus from the lemon aided in creating the perfect balance.

Food was really good and they have a lot of beer on tap. Had the crab pretzel for an appetizer and the crab imperial for dinner. Both were delicious. Service was fine and I didn't mind the atmosphere. But I did feel like this place was more of a bar than a restaurant. I would definitely recommend seafood lovers to try Callahan's!
