Cafe Sado

The reviews here are pretty mixed and I can see why. I visited on a Sunday after hanging out in the area earlier in the day. The inside is nicely decorated and seemed pretty clean. There were quite a few people enjoying dinner by the time we got there - you can tell it must be a local favorite. I heard that this place does a special on sushi where if you order a certain number of rolls, you get one free (I think it was BOGO or maybe buy two get one free??) Pretty solid deal. Everything was tasting pretty good up until I began chewing something hard. Crab shell? No. It was a small piece of plastic. Super weird. I guess they must have not been careful when removing the fish from whatever packaging they received it in and it got tossed into the sushi roll somehow. Wish I could provide more detail but I was too bewildered to write down the names of the rolls and I lost my appetite after that.

This place was a little hard to find. It is in a neighborhood and next to a pub next to a marina dock. I am kind of basic when it comes to Thai food. More often than not I typically order the fried tofu appetizer and pad Thai, which is what I did here. The fried tofu was great. The dipping sauce was a sweet chili sauce with a bunch of peanut bits on top. So it was perfect. The duck with the pad Thai was a little over done for my taste but it was not oily. The pad Thai tasted just like it should. Was a great experience. I do want to try a few other things in the menu. I heard from coworkers that the sushi is great and I saw a mango glazed sea bass that is calling my name. I am going to go back!

Delicious. The chasu pork on a bun appetizer is delicious. It is worth sitting in traffic for on any day. The staff is attentive and friendly. The pad Thai is also as delicious as the sliders. You don't go away hungry! Its atLeast a every 2 week visit for me.

Usually we have a pretty good meal here, but there's been a time or two items felt off. I'm not sure why it's inconsistent, but the last experience left my sister and I slightly unsettled. We love sushi, and previously had good sushi from here; however, when we ordered a few weeks ago, it definitely didn't taste fresh. There was a strong fish smell, and it also smelled of a sour/ ammonia scent as well. Taste was also off, only 1 piece was tried, and was spit out, and thrown. I'd like to hope this was a 1 time fluke, as other times we've had great meals. My husband and I used to go more often, but neither my sister and I nor my husband and I have been back since the last time. I suspect we'll try it once more before completely shying away. My family loves the beef in oyster sauce. The service is great, quick, and knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant is clean, and parking is easy! Nice, calm ambience is felt throughout the restaurant.

Thai what?I can't believe this was recommended by many people. I'm ethnic so maybe our palettes are different. Everything was terrible. When I talked to the hostess about the food and my disservice she said the food was Thai inspired and the cook went once and liked.I had pad Thai and sushi

I do not eat sushi, but I love Thai food. They have a good selection off the menu, and serve good portions. Staff was really helpful and attentive. We are returning often.

Great food and staff. Sushi is fresh, and fresh made to order. Friendly service and staff. Great family atmosphere with great views of the marina. Easy reservation process.

Quick service, fish very good, BUT my sushi order came as sashimi. More fish but higher $ which manager mitigated to an extent

Was in town and ordered for pickup. I ordered the Mochi special with peanut brittle and strawberry reduction. When I got there they brought me a couple mochi in a bed of whipped cream. I told them I ordered the special, and that it also didnt mention coming with any cream because I cant have dairy. They told me the special was a one night thing that was over and it was an outdated menu. Wish that was communicated before they accepted my order, I drove over there and they charged me. After already waiting there I settled on plain mochi. When I got home I cut into one and it had ice cream inside. They had charged me for a special that didnt exist and then after coming and telling them I can't have dairy they failed to mention the plain mochi without whipped cream still have ice cream inside. Mochi are classically rice dough balls. Ive eaten countless mochi in my 30 years and theyve always been advertised as either "Mochi" and been plain dough balls or "Mochi ice cream" with the filling inside. Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and feel duped into a purchase. $15 just to go home and throw it in the trash.
