If visiting the Spring Grove grounds isn't weird enough, then try being served by and dining with the residents. Cafe on the Grove is a true gem. I didn't find out about it until a friend suggested we eat there as an alternative to the world famous Double T Diner on Route 40. It is much cheaper than TT and the clientele is just as questionable. The hours are limited but the food is homemade, fresh, and cheaply priced. There is parking adjacent to the cafe and plenty of seating inside. Although I normally get an egg sandwich for breakfast, I highly recommend the pancakes or grits.

Went there for breakfast with my grandson. Between us we got scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, biscuits, yogurt, coffee, and soda. The eggs and home fries were not only home cooked tasting and quite delicious but the portions were more than generous. This is a cafeteria style place that has many breakfast dishes prepped in steamers and ready to serve, but will also make pancakes, French toast, and eggs cooked to order upon request. The coffee was quite good, although I had to wait a few minutes because all they had ready in the air pot was decaf. By the way, our total only came to $7.90. That was quite the meal for quite the price. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast. I look forward to returning to give their lunch a try!

good people, good food, I work at the Grove, but people come from all around. The staff are real people, not snotty teenagers, Get to know them.

The staff was friendly and the tuna salad sandwich with a side of crab soup was good. Can't get over the low pricing!! Look forward to being able to eat in, rather than take-out. I'll be back.

I eat at the Spring Grove Café quite a few times per week, and I must say, "the soup is so good" But my review today is about customer service. There are 3 ladies there that have provided excellent customer service to me for the past few years and I give them 5 stars. Shay, Muriel and Meagan are top notch professional staff at the Café, they are one of the main reasons a few of our BHA staff have become regulars. Thank you Shay, Muriel and Meagan!!!!

Carefully prepared, inexpensive but always tasty, lunch at Café on the Grove is a real find for Catonsville bargain seekers and a tremendous convenience for the patients and employees of Spring Grove Hospital Grounds. While the kitchen staff is always helpful, the café is currently being held hostage by a mean spirited and discourteous cashier who takes pleasure in ensuring that your visit will be a memorable one. If expense is your only priority and you're accustom to dealing with prison matrons - bon appetite. Otherwise, brace yourself or go elsewhere.

Prices are dirt cheap. Food is made fresh. For breakfast, the oatmeal is on point and the sausage gravy and cream chipped beef are not to be beat. Lunch hosts your standard American fare. Fridays usually host Maryland Crab and Cream of Crab soup, both outstanding, with the kicker of a hard to beat crab cake, and assuredly not at a better price! The kitchen is open through two windows, which can provide some colorful exchanges between kitchen and dining room staff. And you probably shouldn't go for lunch much after 1:30, when the breakdown seems to start. My largest problem is the occasion when the coffee is out. Overall, can't be beat for price and quality of food.
