Cafe 1137

I have mixed feelings about this place. I'm not a fan of the rice with corn. My husband loves it though. The other day we tried the Chicken N ShrimpCheesesteak, Grilled Tilapia 1137 Platter and Fried Chicken Platter with fried shrimp added on. The food is expensive compared to the other places in the area. Our meal was almost $90. I was not impressed with the grilled tilapia. It looked like it had a lot of seasoning but once you bit into the actual fish, it was bland. For some reason I was thinking the fried chicken platter was whole pieces of chicken but they were more like small fried pieces of bones less chicken breast. They were actually tender and cooked well. My husband liked the cheesesteak. We had a not so great experience when picking up the food. I placed an order online and my husband went to pick up the food. It said the order would be ready in 45-60 minutes. Thankfully he double checked the bag. He went in and asked for our order and was given one bag with 2 containers. He asked the lady if that was all because we ordered 3 different things. She said yes, he asked if she was sure. She said hold on and another guy came from the back and told her no, he has another bag with food. Also, by the time my husband got home (we live less than 10 minutes from there), all of the food was cold, not even warm but outright cold. That leads me to believe our order was ready a while before we actually received the text saying "it was ready". My husband may try them again because he works in the area, I won't be.

My daughter decided to grab me lunch and it was delicious. I ordered the salmon wrap with extra Caesar dressing on the side. The throwback rap chips was pretty nostalgic. The salmon and rice platter with cream sauce was delicious and definitely a must try when I return. I will definitely be back to support this black owned business.

Omg the chicken and the shrimp was so well seasoned. I enjoyed each of the meals. You can tell that they took their time when making this. The only thing I would have to say is if you're going to charge for onions, you should just tell me instead of me, just getting the Bill when I get there, but other than that, I have no complaints about the food. I will be back to try the other options very very soon. It's in a very small location and they only have carry out. You cannot sit down and eat.

If someone told me the wait time I would probably never try it but since I sat 47 minutes you're about to hear what I have to say . I wanted to try something that Baltimore was chatting about and this happen to be the spot . The parking lot is tight so I parked and walked up and when u walk in you walk to a counter and place a order so I did and order a few items , a fish meal , lemonade , wings and garlic rice . I place my order at 3:07 and waited 45 minutes to get my order and boy was I upset and they also was dealing with a customer who wanted to make their own meal but I was patient as ever for a new spot . But I was upset also because when I got it they don't come with fries but chips and that really sucks , who wants fish and potato chips for 16.00 but I went with it and I took a bite and I can't even front that bite was so good i forgot why I was mad. . Sooooo go get it and wait it's worth it Probably need to expand already and have an additional chef and others to push it so it can be greater than it already is .

I feel like I waited a bit too long, and I feel like what I paid for my meal was a bit too much. But then that first bite shut me right on up! Was I hangry? Probably. But, even if I weren't, I think would still have the same complaints. but again, the food was a 10/10. I got the catfish fish po' boy with fries on the side. but all in all, this is certainly a "treat yourself" kind of carryout and certainly not a waste of money!

Okay, They open on time and services was good. I spent 69.00 + tip. The drinks was good, couldn't get the shrimp cheesesteak because they didn't have the steak. Got the shrimp saland for 18.99 that came with 6 large shrimp, no dressing. the herb rice was spicy and good. The Honey Hot wings were average, the tasted like plain wings. The bananna pudding did have any banannas let allow the taste of banannas. The strewberry short cake was good. Don't believe the hype on social media. This place was not worth the high prices they charge.

I finally tried this spot and was sadly let down. For starters, the platters are a bit overpriced IMO for what is essentially a container full of rice and sauce. The sauce has a sweetness to it which I think does a disservice to the savory aspect of the dish. I got the catfish platter and it was wayyyyy too salty. I can't speak to the other food but I was disappointed. I will say that the lemonade and cheesecake were a hit but overall it's probably a first and last time thing for me, unfortunately

Banana pudding cheesecake with chessman cookies as delicious and very rich to taste . Stuffed salmon was delicious.

Just ordered salmon platter and five honey obay wings I have ordered from there before . I'm assuming under new management because the food I got today was horrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I'm not looking for no half price on food. I'm not looking for no discount this place is horrible.
