"Picked up a dozen crabs here on my way home from the airport. They were great and lots of seasoning."
"The best, fullest, most delicious crabs in Baltimore? Coveside!Keep in mind, this is for live, uncooked crabs only. If you want them steamed, it's DIY at home. We picked up 6 soft crabs this weekend and they were not only perfect, but very affordable. Lee gave us the full rundown on how to clean them and cook them perfectly! Honestly, these were the best softies I've ever had- better than some high-end restaurants. We will be back for hard crabs later this summer for sure and will tell all of our friends that if they want to BEST crabs in Baltimore, this is the ONLY way to go! They take great pride in selling only the best crabs available and their sizing system (#1, #2, #3) is perfectly easy to understand unlike all the seafood places that have a hundred sizes separated by 1/8" difference (large, x-large, super, super-XL, jumbo) You want seafood from the very people who fish the Bay every day right? This is the place. Does not get any better than Coveside. PERIOD!"
"First time ordering from Pete's, we ordered 2 1/2 dozen LARGE females for $75. What we got was TOTALLY different! Upon picking them up we inspected them, as usual, before leaving and asked if they were actually LARGES. "6 inches" he said. Not sure how he said that with a straight face. Context: If these little ones were sold as small or even mediums I would find no fault. However, if you charge me for something that you didn't deliver, as a proud, cradle Marylander, I take issue. Some of these babies should have been thrown back! Don't rob me!As children growing up in Maryland we are taught the following: Large - Hard crab measures 5 1/2 to 6 inches in size. Medium - Hard crab measures 5 to 5 1/2 inches in size. Small - Hard crab measures 4 1/2 to 5 inches in size, usually females. We know our crabs, we are connoisseurs . We are taught that the Females, #3, also known as "Sook" can range up to 6 inches. They are typically sweet and usually have egg roe inside the crab. Sooks usually have denser meat. Were they dense? Yes. Were they well seasoned? Yes. Did we feel a bit guilty for eating babies? Yes and No. Will I go back? NO. Three words... Truth in advertising."
"Bakers dozen was really good.I almost missed the building.Friendly guys in window. We found a new close crab place."
"Crab legs and shrimp were steamed to perfection! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Best fresh seafood I've found in the area. Nothing fancy, just a nice small local spot that has a family vibe. Highly recommended, A++Don't sleep on this hidden gem!!!!!"
"Last minute crab purchase on July 4th! I was on that side of town & called them. They saved 1/2 dozen jumbo steamed crabs for me and had them ready when promised. Awesome! Big, heavy & cooked to perfection!!! Delicious crabs! We will return!"
"I like the way they handle phone orders and specified pick up times. Have enjoyed tasty crabs three times this summer. Would love to try the jumbo males which they have not had lately, but the #1 males are good."
"This seafood market is a gem. It has huge selection of fresh seafoods, cooked and frozen to choose from. They have crabs all season and this establishment had been in the business for more than a hundred years. Very good customer service as we were waiting for our steamed crabs and fresh fishes being prepared. Place is clean and orderly with the prices being displayed. We had a wonderful experience in visiting this place."
"Stopped by in my way to pick up some fresh carbs. It's a small shack with a variety of seafood. I called ahead for a dozen medium crabs. It was packed on ice, just what I need for the long drive home.Friendly people! Next time I'll stop by for the steamed crabs"
"This is the best seafood in Maryland period! If your a crab lover like me then do yourself a favor and come here. Great family owned business"
"Of "Fa, If your thinking of Seafood, Try Maryland Blue Crab, Not Just , But a wide variety of Fresh caught Seafood. Wow, From Crabs, smalls to Jumbos, Fillet, & Maine Lobster. The picture doesn't do justice OMG. You know the saying ,A picture is worth a Thousand words. It truly is here. Try it you will Like it."
"We were out for a Saturday, zig zagging on small and large highways when wr camevupon Sag's crab and seafood. We stopped in and low and behold the were making lunch. Broiled scallops, crab cakes abd fish and chips. 15 minutes later it was ready. FANTASTIC food. Everything had its own rich flavor. Definately a Do Over for us!!"

We wanted a special treat for a BBQ we were throwing, so we decided to try this place, based on a friend's recommendation. They have only been open for around seven months, but hopefully they'll be here forever! The price for the large size male blue crabs were a little more than we wanted to spend, so we decided to go with the medium males. Fortunately, they were having a special on those, so they were even cheaper than we expected to pay. Make sure you ask about any specials when you call. The crabs were FANTASTIC! Perfectly seasoned with Old Bay, perfectly cooked, no mushy spots, and even though they were mediums, they were bursting with meat. The crabs were ready and bagged when we arrived for pickup, tasted incredible, and I think ordering crabs from here will be a new family tradition.

This place is like one of those hole-in-the wall type places. The person doing pick-up orders was not friendly and was rude. Besides the bad service, I ordered a dozen male crabs and they were pretty good. I was impressed with the crabs itself. I'll be back when I'm craving crabs in Towson!!

Great customer service, friendly staff. Crabs are delicious there female crabs where 29 a dozen. They had large crabs 79 a dozen. That was to expensive for my taste. We ask to see the mixed males they where 49 a dozen. The only down sidewas the mixed male crab was already cooked and was cold. This made me believe the crabs are cooked in advance then heated when you order. They don't take call in orders. I gave 4 stars because my crabs where tasty.

My son said he wanted crabs for his birthday. This will be our first and ONLY visit. The outside is reminiscent of a vintage eastern shore seafood shack. Lots of signs for bait, beer, seafood etc. Inside, it has the feel of an older convenience store... with, what I thought, was a separate 'dining' room. We waited for at least 10 minutes in hope of seeing an employee. Finally, a gentleman came out and I asked if we could dine indoors. He said yes, but took us to a room that looked like someones kichen. Apparently the owner is a big game hunter and proudly displays his photos on the walls. Dont visit if you cant handle seeing smiling photos of dead zebra, moose, elk, bears, etc. Bloody and sad. As it turned out, almost everything (except the crabs)on the menu is FROZEN. To make matters worse, THEY ONLY HAVE A STEAM POT, so... no soft crab sandwiches or anything that cant be steamed. The cant even make a sandwich here! The entire time there was a smell coming from behind our table (wall) that smell like burning plastic. I had to move to the end of the table because it was so strong. My son ordered large male crabs and they were small, light and not well seasoned. My (frozen) steamed shrimp had very little (if any) seasoning and tasted drab...like they were simply BOILED. However, they were a decent size...just not flavorful and again... these are frozen. Cocktail sauce was unavailable unless you purchase a TUB. Tasted like sweet ketchup. No seasoning. Crackers were also additionally priced and available only if you request them. Nothing was offered. Not so much as a glass of water...or a sink to WASH your hands. The waiter/store clerk was polite, but he was S-L-O-W. The female (owner, I'm assuming) was ambivalent from the beginning. Boastful, but definitely didnt deliver. We couldn't have felt more unwelcomed. Our bill came to the tune of 85.00.

Craving crabs over Labor Day weekend. My in-laws lives a few minutes away so decided to give them a try. Market price for the day was $52 a dozen for mediums and $62 a dozen for larges, they had run out of females which was $27 a dozen. We had a very enjoyable meal for a four people as I ordered two dozen large and mediums for the family.

I have been going to Eastern Shore for the last 3 years. Every time I come to Smyrna to visit I purchase Blue Crabs from this place. I have never had a problem until today.Note: I purchased $100 worth of crabs yesterday.Today I ordered a dozen of large male (only because they were out of jumbo) for $65 a dozen. As I was walking to my car I kept saying wow these crabs are light...must not have much meat. When I got to my car I looked in the bag and I realized that I only had 9 crabs in my bag. I counted the crabs twice to make sure before I walked back in. Within 60 secs I walked in to the store and informed the young lady that I was missing crabs. She was really nice and very apologetic . I had to wait another 5 mins or so but she came back with my order and informed me that they gave me a couple extra crabs (14 crabs). Situation was over and I was pleased. Approximately 6-7 mins after driving off I received a call from Frank who states the following:1. He looked at a video camera and noticed I was fumbling in my bag and he seen me on the camera removing crabs from the bag.2. His employee told him that he walked passed my car and I had 3 crabs on my floor in the car. I was soooooooo upset but I kept my cool on the phone because I clearly could have cussed him out. I spend hundreds at this place regularly and to be accused of something like this was very hurtful. As a business owner and damn near a senior I can't believe that someone would treat their customers like this. First of all, he is suppose to be the owner and he had the nerve to call me and LIE and falsely accuse me of stealing. Yes, that's what that is called. This is really disappointing. Then for and employee to say that I put crabs on the floor was worse. I would never eat anything off the floor of a car. Especially in a rental. SMHUnfortunately, times don't change. You would think in this day in age people would not see color. I'm still sitting here in shock. After I calmed down, I really wanted to call back and give him a piece of my mind but I decided he wasn't worth it. You can't change people like that. They can only change themselves. I guess I will be trying the place down the street (I heard they were better anyway) I just figured I would stick with this place even though I have been given bad crabs more than once. I was a loyal customer but they don't respect their customer's and o will spend my money somewhere else.

"Always amazing!!! Can count on getter quality when you purchase from them. Fresh and tasty!!"
"Fast, fresh and delicious.I would recommend to people that enjoy seafood.Only drawback is there is no dine-in"
"Very unique flavor, good size, and they gave me more than I asked for! Properly priced and again I can't say enough the crab was seasoned beyond regular crab seasoning! Def will be going again!"
"Seafood was fresh and great. Good customer service as well. The place is just off a back road and outside seating only. But for those who love fresh seafood this is it."
"I attended the "Cambridge Ice and Oyster Festival" and was lucky enough to find "Bonnies Seafood Shack & Raw Bar." Its steam, crack, and Peel on wheels Hey hey hey! This is Hoopers Island new Seafood catering truck. The cream of crab soup was over the top good and kept our hands warm on the coldest January day. The pretzel with crab and cheese was incredible and the taste was just like the street vendors in NY. The pretzel was steamy and hot with the distinct smell of charcoal. just the way I like it! It was so good. If you see this food truck, you have to get the cheesy crabby pretzel! The peel and eat shrimp were so fresh and steamed perfectly. Thank you for coming to the "Ice and Oyster fest"! I look forward to seeing you at more Eastern shore festivals and events!"
"Just happened to be driving down the road and spotted this "new" place. Since the wife had been trying to get her crab fix the last few weeks I decided to do a u turn and check them out. Glad I stopped in as they did have some delicious crabs avail. Variety of sizes too. We got a dozen of the extra large and they were seasoned well. They had a variety of frozen shrimp and king crab legs and some fresh fish. Definitely worth the stop. Friendly staff and very little wait to get my order steamed just the way I like it"
"Glad I found this hidden gem. I'll be visiting often this year while stuck in quarantine. Might as well enjoy some seafood, right? The owners are super nice and no crowds. Just park out front and walk up to the truck. I bought 2 lbs of 16/20 wild caught shrimp and they were fresh and delish. Also purchased a dozen large male crabs. The crabs were on the small side but fresh and sweet! They do not steam/cook the food but I'm fine cooking my own. They sell steam pots, seasoning, and utensils for crab eating if you need."
"I have been going to the Market at River Falls for years. Very high-quality homemade products with fresh ingredients! You can't go wrong ...check them out!"
"The crabs are fresh. I also bought some MD jumbo lump crab meat from there and the customer service is excellent."
"Great soft shell sliders! Also home made Smith Island cakes. Good fries. Great value!"
"The best seasoned crabs I have ever had in the Baltimore area and I have been everywhere. All the tourist traps, all the trendy places, all the "Best of Baltimore" etc etc and this place is consistently better and Tom and family are always particular about providing top notch service to match the quality. Doesn't hurt that the corn is great too!"
"I think these were the best crabs I have ever had . Large male $40 . They were sweet and full .Right off 404 if your coming to the beach and the price is 1/2 of what you pay at the beach .. fresh from Choptank River .. my new go to . Loving the young kids coming to my car and I don't even have to get out of the car! They use JO spice and not old bay ...I'm a fan!"
"Awesome oysters and professional shucking at great prices! I stopped by for some seafood over the holidays and got oysters at several of the stalls, this was the best! The covid safety precautions at the market are pretty good. They have one way to enter, one way to exit, roped lines to reduce crowding by the markets. There are black rectangles on the ground 6 feet apart for the lines. I waited a few minutes for the fresh raw oyster guy who was taking orders and shucking. He picked some good ones for me and was cutting fresh slices of lemon for each order. Out of all the stalls I went to, he was the only one that included a fork, very helpful! He put it and some napkins in the bag with the order. Due to distance from people, I had not see that no forks from the other place I got oysters or streamed shrimp. Would definitely go to this stall again! He was good picking thru the pile to get me the best oysters and rinsing them off in a fresh pail of water he had just fetched. The oysters were perfect, plump and tender, no grit, chilled, with fresh lemon. They had a self service container to get pepper, vinegar, and hot sauce. Best of the fish market for oysters!Recommended!"
"They always have crabs. I will admit that, but you cannot tell me that they do not either reheat them or cook dead crabs and sell them"
"The crab were meaty. The staff was very friendly. Very clean restaurant. Great location"
"We've been getting crabs here since it was a little hole in the wall behind a bar. It's still small but the new storefront is really nice looking and clean. Crabs here have always been heavy and the corn sweet. It can take awhile to get someone on the phone on busy summer days but it's worth it. Edited to mention that our orders are always ready right at the promised time, if not a little early."
"I love Hill's as it's right around the corner from my home and they have the BEST selection of fresh seafood. I'm not a fan of buying seafood days before I make it so this is my go to spot when I need something that day to make for dinner. The staff is ALWAYS very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. I highly recommend the broccoli salad, New green bean salad and the seafood salad. I've tried them all and taken them to work for food days and they have all been a hit. The Manager (Female-Dark Hair) is very nice and knows her store and products very well. You cannot go wrong with quality seafood at a great price. Stop in and I promise you will be pleasantly surprised but what Hill's has to offer."
"I used to love Faidley's crab cakes. They were SO amazing and every time I travel near Baltimore, I'd stop there. Yesterday was the first time I've been in probably 7-8 years. Time has not been kind. I'm a native from the DMV so I've been eating crabs and crab cakes my whole life. The crab cakes here used to be so awesome because they used minimal binders. That has changed. They use a lot more binders in the crab cake and it really detracts from the overall quality and texture. The greens also used to be on point. But these were mushy and lacked flavor. The potato salad was slapping though. That hasn't changed. My boyfriend got the catfish platter and the fish was cooked to perfection. Sweet tea was very good as well. But $32 for a mid level crab cake and mushy greens? Not again."
"We've gotten crabs from here so many times that I've lost count and they've always been full and seasoned perfectly but this past weekend we made 2 separate trips for their "Old Tavern Style" burgers. They cook your burgers to order and take me right back to the good old days when my dad and I would buy a bag of burgers to take home to surprise my mom, the only thing lacking is that they don't always have pickles (which sadly is an important component for me). I also have to give props to their delicious Cream of Crab soup which was not only delicious and seasoned just right but they pile crabmeat on top and sprinkle with Old Bay. Both my husband and I had to double check to see if we had ordered crab dip, it was that thick and filled with sweet crabmeat in every spoon or cracker full. Lots of parking and make sure you sign up for their Crab Land Crab club because for every $10 you spend you get back a $1 Crab cash you can use on future orders."
"I had been doing crab research for the past week since this dang virus closed my regular crab spot. I wanted to get my mom some steamed crabs to celebrate Mother's Day weekend. I called Tyler's several times before finally getting through to someone. I placed my order for a dozen and a half of #1 males for $60/dozen since those were the largest they had and they told me they would have them ready when I arrived. It's about a 30-40 minute drive from Bowie but when I got there, my crabs were piping hot about 5 minutes later. The crabs were delicious. The seasoning they used was very tasty and they were steamed perfectly. My only complaint was that it was a mixed bag of various sizes of crabs - some small, some large, some light and some heavy. I would have preferred some consistency, but they got the job done. My mom enjoyed them, and I would definitely check them out again. Hopefully they will get some larger crabs as the season gets underway."
"Teresa runs the small store and her husband, Dale, catches the crabs and the seafood. Amazing crabs!! The BEST!!! I'm from the Baltimore area, and grew up in MD so I know crabs for the most part. I come down to this area to visit family in the summer and steamed crabs from here are a must. We used to drive down to the St. Michael's to the crab claw. But these are by far the best in the area and right up the street. Their prices are fair (remember these are MD blue crabs we're talking about). Also pick up some locally grown produce. You will not be disappointed. Oh, and it's best call ahead for hard shells."
"Support our local waterman. The best and freshest local crabs. We got a half bushel for $75. Nice size, heavy and lively. If you can steam them at your home, highly recommend."
"I don't have any idea why they have a 1 star rating- crabs I got were delicious, perfectly seasoned, hot, full and freshly steamed (trust me I know what a reheated crab is so don't even try it). Friendly lady answers phone - very patient and person on steamer knows his job-and a liquor store where you can pick up beer? A perfect union for any Marylander!!I will try to remember names next time- went back 2 hrs later and got another 1/2 bushel - little pricy yet because early in season I think."
