"I am really late on this one. I ate there in October 2024 but I still dream about the place...I had a friend from out of town coming with me to a show in Baltimore. She let me choose the restaurant. I found that La Tavola makes an in-house gluten free pasta. HUZZAH! We got a trio of carpaccios got an appetizer. Then I ordered the fra diavolo with the house made strofe (the gluten free pasta). My friend ordered a Sardinian special. I could have picked the plate. Completely satisfied with my meal. The only thing that bothered me was the ambience. It felt cold, even though it wasn't temperature cold. We went on a Sunday night and it was pretty empty. That makes me sad because their food and service is amazing."

"We have been to Pappas in Parkville and for a birthday celebration we decided to try this location in the Cranbrook Shopping Center. We had a 6 pm reservation on a Sunday and they were semi-busy..They brought out a complimentary cucumber salad which was a nice touch. Our Crab dip that was served with soft Pita wedges was delicious. I can't remember the draft IPA I ordered but it was good.We ordered their famous Crab Cakes and they didn't disappoint. I'm always surprised when the steak (Ribeye) at a seafood spot is excellent- their Ribeye was tasty.Anchovies were available for the Caesar salad which is a plus for me.We ordered a Triple Chocolate Mousse-rich and decadent.Service was upbeat and engaged. Ciara took great care of us. Multi-winner for their Crab cakes and lives up to the hype!"

The only knocks I would have on the place are it is a bit loud (when it's a meal rush and there are many people at the bar) and parking is difficult.They are in a corner spot of a strip mall that is heavily trafficked, and finding a spot is hard."

"We had been to a place further down Route 40 that gets rave reviews and we were NOT impressed with them! You can find that review in my Yelp if you are interested. Because of that, I was very apprehensive about trying Hot Pot Hero. Turns out we probably should have come here first rather than going to the other place. We were shown very quickly to a table. This restaurant has a very cool vibe which we were definitely feeling! We were handed a iPad to order what we wanted. While the prices are a little higher on the all you can eat, we got a nice amount upon ordering, where in comparison, the place we had went to previously on 40 gave us a third of what we got at Hot Pot Hero for four people!! We ordered two of the spicier broths....when we go again, it will be one hot and one mild, if for no other reason, a break for the tastebuds! :) Even if you like hot, these are SPICY, so just know that going in. We ordered beef, chicken and pork belly along with an array of veggies to include King Trumpet Mushrooms. We got a lovely amount on the first round and when we ordered a few more things on the second, it was just as nice! Staff was very pleasant and it was a very nice switch up to some of the other Asian places in the plaza. Definitely no complaints! We will definitely be back!"

"This weekend, I wanted to go somewhere that offered a variety of things so I decided to come to By the Docks. I've been here a bunch of times and I've even taken my family for celebrations and brunch. I will say say that I like the new upgrades to the decor. This was my first time being in the bar area and the booth we had was cozy. Overall my experience was decent but I had a few gripes. 1. The salad used to come with the meal but a side salad was $6 and it came in a weird bowl. It took everything in me not to knock it over. 2. My server. He was much more attentive to a table that came in after us. He checked on them often but we basically only saw him when he took our order and gave us the check. We spent more time with the food runners. He also forgot one of my items that I ordered. I'm not sure if I was charged for it because I just paid the check and left. Now to the good part....I ordered way too many items to list each one but the food was great. I don't like that they have sides set for each entrée but they will allow you to substitute which is a plus. I will return but hopefully I'll have a different server next time."

"I have a weakness for Crab Cakes, sometimes I order them as an appetizer (for sharing) or as an entree. If they are on the menu, 99.9% of the time, I will order them. Maryland is known for their fresh and tasty Crab Cakes, I was not going to miss out. The Blue Dolphin exceeded my expectations. Our group ordered a variety of dishes, from seafood to chicken and ribs. The portions were huge, the service was quick and our Server, Jennifer, was the best! Even though it was a busy Friday night, she was very attentive and so friendly. The Crabs Cakes come as a platter with two side dishes, I chose sautéed potatoes and spinach with Remoulade sauce. Most places offer tartar or cocktail sauce. If they have remoulade, you know you're having the real deal!! The Crab cake was a solid mound of Crab meat, not a lot of bread crumbs or filler. I tried my best to finish, I even took a break and still could not finish this delicious meal. One Crab cake at this fine establishment was bigger than other restaurants that serve two the size of a hamburger pattie. It may be a couple of years before I travel to Maryland, but when arrive at Blue Dolphin again, I won't forget to tell 'em Rosemary sent me!!!"

"I used to come here in the 90s. It's definitely a staple in the community and it brought me back to times we could play the arcade games here all day after school. My homegirl works here and it's her family's business. I really can't say anything negative about it, but it's a solid 4 stars for me. There are 2 sides to this place, one side has the arcade games and pinball machines. I was on the other side at the bar, in front of the TV watching the game. This occurred January 4th because I was watching the Ravens at home against the Browns. The Long Island was good, probably a little too sweet, but good. I couldn't drink it all. The wings were a good size and really hot. The crab fries was good and enough for 2 people and I couldn't eat it all. The customer service was top notch. The environment was great and I will be back to rate my arcade game experience."

Even with the auto-gratuity of 20%, the meal was still very affordable!We ordered the bang bang shrimp (not part of happy hour), crab dip, smoked wings, and roasted brussel sprouts. The wings and crab dip were okay (I could've sworn it used to come with pretzels) but I loved the brussel sprouts and bang bang shrimp. The food also came out really quick, which was a nice plus."

Just 35min from the crib, Ketch 22 was well worth the drive.The menu is pretty standard for waterfront restaurants in Maryland so we both chose the jumbo lump crab cakes. They were delicious.. All meat and very little filler. The bacon topped deviled eggs were just as delicious.Service was outstanding and the patrons were super friendly.I'm re-discovering North Beach/Chesapeake Beach. Eventhough I loved everything about this place, I have to try other restaurants before I come back which is the proverbial "Ketch 22"..lol"

Had no idea until they were ordering things that I didn't have on mine. Ordered the blackened chicken sandwich. It tasted like it had been frozen before they started cooking it. The middle was soooooo tough. Did they take it off the bill, even after it was brought to the manager? NO Asked for fries with my sandwich. Didn't come. Asked for the fries again- took ten more minutes after asking both the waitress and the food runner. No ketchup offered- had to get up and go get it Inside from the bar.My friend ordered crabs and we waited AN HOUR FIR CRABS. There was a few ppl at the bar and 4 tables total outside and somehow my friend couldn't get their crabs. Then they had to find a crab cracker- COULDN'T FIND ONE! Waters were empty for 20 mins. Had to walk to the bar to get water. They NEVER came to refill waters, not once.They tried to pacify us w shots. Shots took 10 mins!Had to ask for the bill twice."
