"This was a food truck at a winery I attended. They had multiple items available that were mostly appetizers. We had a big order, so it took some time to be prepared, but it was ready when the staff told us it would be.I had the empanada sampler and the chicken skewers. There were three different empanadas: chicken, chorizo, and beef. The texture of these were okay. I would have liked them to be crispier. The fillings were much better as I preferred the beef one the most. It was the tastiest to me. The chorizo was a little plain. The chicken skewers were the highlight here. They were tender with lots of flavor. They also came with a side in which we chose Yuca fries which were solid. There was also a green sauce and spicy aioli present. They were both alright, nothing great. I also tried the French fries and they were enjoyable with a nice crunch factor.Will I go back? Probably."

"This is a casual joint where you can order up front and pay right at the register. The chicken orders are quick, but stir fry plates like Lomo saltado will take another 5 minutes or so.The half chicken order came with two sides and we chose yucca fries and plantains. The yucca fries had a good crispy texture while fluffy and chewy inside. The plantains were sweet and caramelized which was a good balance to the well seasoned (salt forward) chicken and beef in the lomo saltado. The stir fried beef pieces were super tender and delicious with the gravy soaked fries and rice. The generous serving size fed us three well with left overs."

"I came here for the first time because I was curious about the food. I reviewed the menu before arriving, so I decided on a burrito bowl. When I arrived it was just okay. It was kind of dimly lit inside, but the ordering station had lighting that was decent enough to see what I was ordering. I walked in and was not greeted, so I basically stated that I wanted to order a burrito bowl. The staff member looked at me opposed to directly asking what I wanted in the bowl. I started naming the usual items (rice, black beans, corn, salsa, peppers and onlons etc, but since they only had the chicken burrito bowl listed on the in-house menu, I stated that I only wanted a veggie bowl. The cashier at the other end of the station stated that veggie bowls are the same price as those with meat. He added that I could add some roasted vegetables instead. I never asked about pricing, but I guess I understood why he said it, but not how he said it. Everything here seems to be extra and by extra, I mean nickle and diming extra. The guacamole was almost $4.00 in addition to a bowl that was already almost $14.00, which is insane. The service was a no for me and was pretty much non-existent. However, the burrito bowl was unexpectedly exceptional. The flavors were impeccable. I was amazed from the first bite that the flavors exceeded my expectations. I only added salsa verde to the bowl and that was more than enough. I am used to Chipotle bowls in which the salad dressing/sauce always kicks up the flavor several notches, but Lima's bowl did not need anything because the flavors were already prominent and available in every bite. I am not interested in eating here again, but the taste of that burrito bowl might make me reconsider."

"I hope they don't get all up in my Grille about this, but I was very disappointed, and not just by the spealing.As I say - Very disappointing experience. The server was very unfriendly and told me I'd have to come back in half an hour if I wanted chicken (I mean, chicken is all they are known for, so)... it's just no way to run the business. If you're not making enough chicken to serve, then don't have all the signs outside saying come in and get the chicken and so on.It's literally the only chicken shop I've been to in all of the DC and Baltimore areas where they haven't had any chicken, it's also pricier than most with less friendly service than most, and I've even arrived at some close to closing time and this was right at lunch time. So because of the nasty service and because so many of these good reviews sound fishy, I'm giving them a poor review and rating. Wasted a bunch of my day because it was well out of my way."

"Who doesn't know that charbroiled chicken is thee best? It's a no brained anytime you're craving grilled chicken. This is a favorite of ours when the wife and I don't feel like cooking. A whole chicken and two large sides feeds us pretty well. My wife prefers white meat so we get all white meat and the price doesn't jump tremendously. Everything taste as if it was marinated for hours because the flavors just mesh so well. I'm a big fan of the mixed veggies(zucchini, squash, carrots and broccoli) so I always order an extra side of that. Growing up, zucchini and squash were not on the list of vegetables I liked but Limas does such a great job with flavoring/seasoning that they are now my favorite veggies. The rice is packed with red/green peppers and onions and it taste delicious. Honestly it may be the standout dish of the meal. My kids always want extra rice with their meals and I can't blame them. So any time of the week is a great night to have Limas, don't feel like cooking? Limas. Out all day and need to grab something quick? Limas. Or you just want to feed your army something good? Limas. Trust me, you won't be disappointed."

"The people complaining about this place are probably the same ones that go to McDonald's and tell their friends that food is good/healthy with a straight face. If you've been in the APG area, you know decent food is hard to find. Sure there are the typical fast food joints, but if you want something different and slightly better, look no further. I found this place when my car broke down last year. It was in some random area off the road. Probably the worst location ever. But where they lose in location, they make up in food, prices, and quantities. I attached a picture I've had now twice. No complaints except they overcharge on the drinks IMO. But hey, bring your own water or wait until after you eat. This place is underrated, terribly located, but makes tummys elated."

"Our family loves Peruvian chicken. It is a favorite of our whole family. My son was picking up Poyoteca for the two of us. I wasn't feeling well and he was so sweet to bring dinner over. Sorry, I just was not a fan. The chicken tasted spicy to me. I don't know if someone heavy handed the turmeric, but it did not taste good. Now, people who like the spice, may enjoy this chicken. The yucca were very good. They were hot and crispy. We also ordered the rice and beans. They were fine. My son picked up the food and the service was good. It didn't take long for the order to be ready. The ambiance is clean and attractive. My son really enjoyed his meal. I just think that we are lucky enough to be in an area with lots of Peruvian chicken restaurants. This one was not a favorite of mine."

Pollo Cabana has the typical delicious Peruvian rotisserie chicken concepts, but this time I opted to try something a little different. The Italian fused menu is a MUST TRY. The Linguine a la Huancaína with Shrimp Saltado was delicious. The yellow sauce (huancaína) isn't like anything I've ever tasted before-- it's creamy and spicy and freaking delicious. The brown sauce the shrimp was in had a hint of sweetness to it. Them two flavors together.... chile listen."

"I have always seen this place but never thought to try it. Had a craving for some lomo saltado, they had it on the menu, so why not. Ordered two; one for me and one for the him. It takes ten minutes to make, so I went to grab something from the grocery store next door. It looked like it was a fairly nice potion for the price point, which is less than other restaurants. I noticed that there were smaller pieces of beef and not as many veggies. Also, the French fries were definitely of the frozen ore ida variety. All in all it was okay in a pinch, I didn't mind it. The rice had a great flavor, the beef had a nice flavor too, but needed to be cooked more. The fries were an afterthought. I wish they put in more veggies. The hubs said it was a no go for him...Can't say that I'd come back for this dish."

"My co-workers, along with myself, are absolutely in love with Poyoteca!An order was placed for 12 of us at 10:45am to be picked up at 11:45am. When I arrived at the restaurant, all the meals were hot and ready. Customer service was great! The manager helped me carry the bags to the car and was excited and grateful for our business. The restaurant is clean, very well maintained. The food, oh the food! No other word needs to be described, but delicious! I had the vegetable sample, and I chose 4 sides for $10.99. My black beans were flavorful and yummy. Loved my Brussels and carrots, the balsamic glaze, delish! Plantains and Mac and Cheese, oh so good! Every single co-worker loved their choices as well. Two said the rotisserie chicken was some of the best they had.If you're in Baltimore, love Peruvian food, go, just go!"

Signage says "chicken".I ordered two papusa revueltas and black beans. Papusas are my jam! These days this warms my heart and my belly. The papusa like most places comes with slaw and a sauce. The slaw is yummy but I also prefer mine with a bit more spice so I don't generally use my own sauce.The papusa was delightful but came a part as I was eating it, I'm not used to that. I think it was because they were packed with goodness. The slaw was delish, I really enjoyed it. The beans were aiight, a little under seasoned for my taste, but that can be fixed. I will be returning, because my belly is happy!"

The chicken here isn't even as good as the lower-end Peruvian chicken places in DC, and there are 3 chicken places here in Baltimore that I can name that taste better than this.Maybe because it's in the run-down West Baltimore area, where most businesses are boarded up, shut down, and moved on. It's good that this area has a little something. But each person before me in line was treated like a persona non-grata by the employees, and then I was, too. I asked to buy just chicken without sides and they were very pissy about it. Then they went and charged me the same (obscenely high) price as if I would have got the sides. Do they think I'm stupid? They told me I can buy the chicken separately and then charge me for the dinner... I mean, I'll still pay for it without complaining but that kind of crap gets you a star less than you would have.So: treating customers badly -1. Food not that great -1. Ripping me off -1. And that, my friends, is how you end up with a 2 star rating when I usually would never give less than a 3 to a family business. If I'd consider bumping them up because I feel bad, then I only need to look at how overrated this place is on Yelp, to say no... it stays where it deserves to stay. 2 star.I'd rather go to Perm-o Chicken and have my hair done like a chicken. "Came here twice this past week to check out the new restaurant in Burtonsville.The menu is fairly extensive with lots of options to choose. TOP favorites dishes were Lomo Saltado (sautéed steak) and Pollo Saltado (sautéed chicken), both come with french fries and rice--meats are well flavored and decent portions. The Jalea Nortena (whole fried red snapper) looked appetizing but wasn't crunchy enough or well flavored, and we weren't a fan of the basic tartar sauce that comes with it. The Bisteck a lo Pobre (Peruvian style steak) was bland and super dry because it was cooked medium-well closer to well done, when we asked for medium. The Ceviche de Pescado (tilapia fish) was okay. For cocktails, their Mojitos were average, I've had better--they don't even muddle the mint leaves. Pisco Sour seems to be a popular drink here--tried a shot and it wasn't bad!The restaurant is fairly small and they don't take reservations. Sat in the bar area both times--my second time, the music was extremely LOUD, I asked if they could turn it down a bit because it was hard to converse with my friend, but the manager refused. Also, I noticed that staff here are fluent in Spanish not English, so sometimes there's a disconnect when trying to ask for something. Service is a bit slow too. However, the hostess is super friendly and even came over to check on us!"

"The shop at the end of this Plaza has sat vacant for ages, and I was glad to see something move into it. Stopping in, I was even more glad it was this place. There's no shortage of Peruvian chicken restaurants in the area. Heck, there's several within walking distance of this place. It's a tough niche to be in, and it's hard to set a restaurant apart. So, what sets this one apart? One word. Smoke. They're smoking the chicken, which adds tremendous flavour, and is incredibly good. I'm not sure if it's actually smoking, or just if they use a lot more during the grill, but it's delicious. The chicken just fell apart. The sides were awesome. If I had to stretch for some negatives:They could use a soda fountain. Only cans, and they're expensive ($2).... for someone who needs a coke to wash the food down, it isn't great. The sauces were great, and a little different. But. The sauce portions -- especially for a half chicken -- were a little light. But, the food was fantastic. And in can pop next door to Quench for a drink after."

Every time I come here, I'm amazed at how large the portions are, how yummy the food is, and how cheap it is compared to other places in PG county. Amazing enchiladas, delicious pupusas and savory chicken - basically everything I've tried on this menu has been yummy! Note that if you are in a rush, you'll want to call in: everything is cooked made-to-order so there's about a 15-20 min wait time for each order. However, the chicken is more than outstanding. It was tender and falls off the bone. The flavor explodes into your taste buds. Colonel Sanders of KFC fame uses 11 secret herbs, and spices. I don't think Don Pollo stops short of 25. I recommend eating here. The side dishes are not much to talk about, but the chicken is easily in my top five."

The first thing that I noticed was how clean the place was.Then I was greeted by the person who took my order and made my food... he was very friendly.I've been to several Peruvian places and I enjoy their rotisserie chicken.The chicken was season well and the string beans had just enough taste that they weren't too bland.I was very shocked by the rice which was a bit over cooked and had zero flavor. This time it worked in my behalf because I'm not supposed to be eating carbs anyway! LolI will give this place another try and try something different on the menu."

"Was staying in Hilton and this place is a heaven , just next to the hotel :). Was a hot day and I dropped in for some quick food and beer . They had happy hours on some cold beers . Ordered a few and also had some chicken wings . Wings was so so good . They also gave some free chips/ salsa / guac . Really really good . Inside of the restaurant was big . Lots of TVs with sports for entertainment.. service was really quick and ever smiling faces of the waitress. Food taste was good . Nice and clean rest rooms . Loved it overall ."

"Let me tell y'all about my favorite lunch spot. I work around the corner, and everyone gets tired of the mundane fast food. Think fresher, more flavorful Chipotle and for about the same price. I normally get the chicken bowl and prefer it to the shrimp bowl I had today (only because you get 5 shrimp, and I'm greedy). The service is so nice. They are polite and will let you sample things if it's your first time. I always get the bowl but I've heard great things about the half chicken, carne asada, and yucca. My bowl always has the rice, black beans, pico, mozz, and green spicy sauce. The green beans are a must! So good. Honestly best green beans I've ever had. If you're in Greenbelt, you have to try it."

"I love this place. It's near my office, so it's great for when I didn't bring lunch, and am just not in the mood for a burger. I've gotten the same thing both times I've visited because it's just so good. Generous portions too...maybe a little bit too generous. I got the 1/4 white meal, which is seasoned perfectly, and is not as dry as one would expect breast meat to be. They have several choices for sides, but I went with the yucca and green beans. The yucca is fried and tastes much better than regular French fries. The green beans are good, but only if I coated them with the green sauce because they are a bit bland. The other side selections look pretty good, they also have rice, coleslaw, plantains, salad, mixed veggies, and beans. My co-worker got fries, and said they were really good. My only complaint is the service. There was a little bit of a line, and instead of the lady at the register getting straws, she made the man preparing food stop what he was doing to go get straws to put out by the soda fountain. Things might go faster and more smoothly with more people working out front. I'll keep coming here since the food is so good, but won't have high expectations as far as the service goes."

The guy said it would be ten minutes. No problem. We went to the bakery nearby. My friend bought two chicken tamales for her husband. We went back and waited for our pupusas. I have no problem waiting, but there were no other customers. When we went back the employees were in the back of the store. We took them to go. We both had the cheese and loroco ones. They were good. $2.50 each is a fair, competitive price. There isn't much atmosphere in the restaurant that would make me want to dine in. I think most people order their Peruvian chicken and take it to Wheaton Regional Park. If in the area, I may order again."
