"Parking is a bit "off." Not exactly the best area and the patrons lurking in the parking lot are also "off." BUT I absolutely adore the service here so I continue to come back. The servers are always pleasant, witty and hilarious. We went for happy hour on a day they DIDN'T provide happy hour so the server made one up for us but also had us try a few different menu items. Since the menu can be hard to understand, the servers go over everything that you must try and should try. I always love when staff enjoys taking the time to explain things to a newcomer. Go off the cusp and try something different! Also, don't leave without trying their homemade desserts--fried ice cream was straight YUM."

"So I came here on a trip to Maryland and let me just say this place was amazing. The Sprite was perfectly sweet and refreshing. The chips and queso were really good. The salsa had a kick to it. The street corn ribs were immaculate to say the least. Coming down to the Birria tacos they were so good... especially the dipping broth. The tacos were packed with flavor and so cheesy. They were so damn good. I would and will most definitely be coming back here. The only thing I could complain about was the waitresses and waiters were kind of slow. Other than that I highly recommend coming here."

"Great experience at Jesse Jays Kitchen...this was my third time going and on this occasion I got to partake in the outdoor seating area and expanded outdoor bar area.On this special occasion our three servers in the bar area were Kaylee, Valeria, and Chell which all took great care of us. Every drink was made special to order despite the crowds of people who also requested a cocktail. We tried several of the street tacos and they all were excellent...I'd ditch the flavored margaritas and stick to the classic. I'm picking the short rib and fish as my two favorite tacos with the fish coming in as a strong first place. Although small in stature this place leaves much behind to be remembered. Worth every bit of a 30 min drive and I guarantee you will want to come back because of the friendly service. PS if they have the empanadas get those too"

"This is one of a kind restaurant. We stopped by here after a long day in Ocean City, MD and were looking for an authentic Mexican food and this popped up on our list. The food was really good from price to portion of serving. We had a feast and we enjoyed every bite of it. Also their guacamole is freshly made, "LITERALLY", when we ordered it, we saw our server making it on the side. The staff were all welcoming, we had a celebrant in the group and when they found out at the end of our meal a pack of staff approached us with dessert and a big hat singing happy birthday. SO FUN!The ambiance was uplifting. This restaurant accommodates small to large groups comfortably."

"First time and loved it! Really cozy and intimate. The service was awesome. We went by on a Sunday night without a reservation and the place was pretty packed. Thankfully we got bar seating fairly quickly. Drinks - the sangria (red) was delicious. Probably the best (most authentic) sangria I've had in Baltimore. They also have a few selections of Malbec.They serve a complimentary chimichurri with a side of bread - delicious!And for the main we shared the parilla for two. There was so much food - could have easily shared that between four. It also comes with a ton of fries. The meat was delicious. I'd definitely recommend! We are going back to try the empanadas next time!"

"I hope they don't get all up in my Grille about this, but I was very disappointed, and not just by the spealing.As I say - Very disappointing experience. The server was very unfriendly and told me I'd have to come back in half an hour if I wanted chicken (I mean, chicken is all they are known for, so)... it's just no way to run the business. If you're not making enough chicken to serve, then don't have all the signs outside saying come in and get the chicken and so on.It's literally the only chicken shop I've been to in all of the DC and Baltimore areas where they haven't had any chicken, it's also pricier than most with less friendly service than most, and I've even arrived at some close to closing time and this was right at lunch time. So because of the nasty service and because so many of these good reviews sound fishy, I'm giving them a poor review and rating. Wasted a bunch of my day because it was well out of my way."

"Salsa Grill is a food-tastic time!This is a MUST EAT Place!Anytime I'm in Baltimore I ensure to stop in for the Caribbean Paella. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has a mom and pops feel to it and is perfect for any occasion. The authentic flavors of the food provide for a majestic experience and are always spot on. I've tried a few things off the menu and nothing has disappointed me. I started with the Beef Empanadas which are stuffed with meat and wrapped in a perfectly baked flakey crust. These are a great way to start the meal as I am a lover of authentic meat pies. The main course selections are all enticing, however, the Caribbean Paella truly has a place in my heart. I don't eat shrimp so I order mine with No Shrimp, and replace it with Extra Chicken. (I also ask for extra onions) The chicken is always moist, meaty, and grilled to perfection. The flavor blend of the chicken and sausage deliver a happy tastebud focused experience. Furthermore, the portions are more than enough and perfectly aligned with the price point of the menu. This visit was yet another flavorful, stomach pleasing, tastebud awakening experience. Thank you to the Chef(s) for always being spot on and to the Staff for always smiling and providing an engaging and warm experience."

"We came here for drinks and snacks on our way home from Baltimore and sat at the bar. We got the skinny colada, and three pupusas. The drink was $12 which I found to be a bit pricey for a general drink with rum and pineapple juice. The pupusas were pretty good; cheese was the favorite. The salsa and chips were amazing and come with the meal. The salsa is one of the best I've had at a Mexican restaurant. It was warm and had the right level of spices. We will come back in the future for a proper sit down dinner experience."

Pollo Cabana has the typical delicious Peruvian rotisserie chicken concepts, but this time I opted to try something a little different. The Italian fused menu is a MUST TRY. The Linguine a la Huancaína with Shrimp Saltado was delicious. The yellow sauce (huancaína) isn't like anything I've ever tasted before-- it's creamy and spicy and freaking delicious. The brown sauce the shrimp was in had a hint of sweetness to it. Them two flavors together.... chile listen."

The restaurant is clean, very well maintained. The food, oh the food! No other word needs to be described, but delicious! I had the vegetable sample, and I chose 4 sides for $10.99. My black beans were flavorful and yummy. Loved my Brussels and carrots, the balsamic glaze, delish! Plantains and Mac and Cheese, oh so good! Every single co-worker loved their choices as well. "This restaurant opened its Gambrills location Summer 2024, and it's definitely a vibe! We stopped by to celebrate National Margarita Day 2025. It was packed as seating times were a 45 -55 min wait. We grabbed a seat at the bar to take it all in. The male bartenders One of the best parts? The margarita experience! We got to pick our flavor, our tequila, and even our rim, making each drink perfectly customized.For food, we started with empanadas--crispy, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off. I also ordered the guacamole, which was prepared tableside. Major plus that you can add crab or shrimp! Plus, they customize the spice level to your preference, which made me a fan! For the main course, I went with the chicken and steak tacos, and they did not disappoint. The flavors were on point, and everything was fresh and well-seasoned."

Nice balance of lime, cilantro, a bit of saltiness, and perfectly ripe avocado. Definitely would order again. Perfect amount for one person. I also got the pico de gallo. Fresh, bright, and citrusy. My only gripe is the price for what you get. The pico de gallo comes in a sauce cup / container. Maybe twice the size of the plastic cups used for ketchup at burger and fries places. So I can skip that next time. Will check out the rest of their menu."

"What a little gem this place is! And so reasonably priced! 2 pernil (pork shoulder) meals with 1 side each, 2 beef empanadas, and 2 chicken empanadas for $40! The service was great. The woman who helped us was super sweet and personable. The inside is super cute and has seating. The pernil was spot on. Perfectly seasoned and tender, with the best crispy skin ever. The tostones were cooked and salted perfectly too. And the yellow rice was delicious. Empanadas were good. I liked the beef better than the chicken. Overall this food was amazing and reminded me of home. I'll definitely be back."

"Hispanic popped up on places I should try and I am glad it did. I was pleased to see that this restaurant was practicing social distance while also providing a great customer service. The waitress was very patient with me as I looked through the menu and even provided a few recommendations. I ended up ordering the tacos and the seafood soup and both were amazing. I'm not quite sure by the picture if you can really get a good look at how bug that soup bowl was but let's just say the tacos were put in a to-go box as there was no way I could finish all the food. The restaurant offers daily drink and food specials. There is indoor dining and they are also allowing space in between tables. I would drive a good 30 min for this restaurant which has been rare in my recent dining experiences so I'm going to go out on a limb and say the soup was one of the best dishes I've had in 2021. If you are in the area and open for a new experience I would strongly recommend giving Hispa a try"

I am however excited for you and your taste buds. Papusas are delicious tortilla like circles filled with your choice of cheese, bean, pork, and a mixture thereof. I have had a lot of different papusas, but these take the cake.Pair your papusas with one of their Horchata drinks and sit back and relax in the throes of taste bud heaven. Horchata is a Salvadoran drink that tastes a bit like oatmeal, but better.Food this good and the price cannot be beat. I would come here everyday if I lived closer."

"We went here for carry-on for an impromptu early dinner. There was no one in there except the waitress and kitchen staff behind the counter. I thought the ambience was very nice, the place looks very clean, and the people were very friendly. (See my photos I posted on Yelp). It was helpful that my partner speaks Spanish fluently so he could talk to them and tell them what we wanted to eat. He also know what's really good to eat as far we El Salvadorian food goes!!I would say that the menu did look more Americanized than I expected. It is not fast food so it took about 15 minutes. I saw the cooks in the kitchen actually making the pupusas by hand to our order, so it is fresh and high-quality.The carry out food was delicious, one of the best quesadillas I've ever had. I wish we live closer to this but still plan to go there often. This was my first time there. They have a high-tech music (juke) box on the wall. They have karaoke on Friday's. I imagine it turns into a full-scale bar at that time with awesome food. I'm sure it gets very crowded."

So why would I turn down an opportunity to try Guatemalan food in Silver Spring.I had actually been here once previously but I wasn't all that impressed. I don't know if it was an off night or if my palate was thrown off by getting pulled over earlier. Either way, I didn't do a review knowing that I would return.So I was going to order the Pollo en Crema which I think I should have ordered instead of following tradition and getting the Pepian de Pollo. Comparing Pepain de Pollo to Mexican Molé is an unfair comparison in my opinion. If given a choice I would get Molé somewhere else but I haven't had Pepian de Pollo any where else.The dish did come with tortillas caseras. They were very thick corn ones. Since it was four of them you can share with your table.The food was just aight. Nothing too special but solid. I liked the Salsa Verde in the blank bottle was really good. I would say that it is worth a try so that you see the differences Guatemala cuisine has between El Salvadorian and Mexican food.In sum, 3 Stars. I love the tables with the Guatemalan fabrics. The service wasn't the best. No one was rude. Just pretty slow with everyone's food from what I noticed. So that's that."

"This place is a little confusing when you first walk in because it's half restaurant half bakery but it's all good. Service started off a bit slow at first but our waitress was great once we hit it off. She was friendly, attentive, and always with a smile on her face. She also made sure drinks were filled and our chips (which were amazing, fresh from the fryer and perfectly salted) and salsa was never empty. Entrees was also good, if not lacking a little bit on salt. Once we added a smidge more, it was much better. Presentation was also great so definitely A in that department. Fajita lovers - prepare to have enough for 3 or more meals - the amount of fajitas is unreal. Probably 3 peppers, 3 onions, and a 1/2 a cow were brought sizzling hot on a platter with the steak Fajitas. My fiance and I both ordered one separate and wished we would've shared it. At $12.95 a plate though, we weren't too mad about the leftovers when most other Mexican joints charge $16+ for one. Chicken burrito was also delish - great seasoning on the chicken and burrito was stuffed with rice, beans, lettuce, salsa, guac, and sour cream, then topped with melted cheese to set it off. One word of caution for credit card users - you have to let them know before you pay how much tip you want to add because they don't have the ability (or maybe the desire?) to add it afterwards - led to a bit of an awkward exchange when we asked where the tip line was on our receipt. ‍"

"This place is in a hotspot area yet hidden. The tacos were decent, I wish they offered more sauces for them. The star of the show was the elote! I kept contemplating if I wanted to order another. Then came the Crazy Papusa - WARNING - HUGE! Way bigger than any I've ever seen, as big around as a medium pizza but with way more food inside. We struggled to eat half even though it was really good. Everything was pretty outstanding, I will definitely be back."
