"We found this spot by accident, and we were very lucky. Everyone was extremely helpful in explaining the options as well as what to order. We were concerned about price to portion ratio, but we were wrong. Plenty of food with great taste and tons of options. I'd recommend this place to anyone."
"Good Korean and Chinese style food.I would recommend this place as the waitress and the owner provide very kind service."

"Would never have come across this place if it had not been for a word of mouth recommendation. I've been here twice now, once for their regular menu and the last time for the bbq. The bbq is what I would recommend! Meats are marinated well and I really enjoyed the charcoal concept. Staff were fantastic and always around, keeping an eye on things. The kimchi pancake was a total hit! And a great portion. Would definitely get it again. The tteokbokki was a little different to what I'm used to. Their dish had a lot of curry and rice cakes - no scallions and very little fish cakes, which was disappointing.Overall great experience and reasonable prices. Would come back for the BBQ."
"What a cute spot and concept! I loved the rice bowls and the amount of food that comes with your order. Their small menu surprisingly has great options to choose from. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying other menu items!"
"Rainpia is a go-to if you're craving Korean food late at night. In Howard County, where everything else seems to close by 7 PM to accommodate families, this place is a much-needed option. The menu is solid, and I usually go for the boiled pork belly--it's tender, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with the banchan. The downside? It's loud. Rainpia is clearly a hotspot for the college crowd, and they bring the energy. Expect lots of laughter, chatter, and a generally rowdy vibe. The seating setup doesn't do much to help--it's tight and awkward, so you're right in the mix whether you like it or not.Still, the late hours and reliably good food make it worth the trip. Just don't come here for a quiet night out--this is more of a lively, eat-and-enjoy kind of spot. Four stars for keeping the pork belly coming when the rest of Howard County is asleep!"
"I got the boneless sweet and spicy fried chicken ($25.99). It came with fries and a salad. The chicken was very good - crispy and flavorful. They also gave a 4 complimentary side dishes of kimchi, pickled radish, tofu with a chili sauce, and green beans and cabbage. That was nice to eat while we waited for our chicken to arrive. Our server was friendly and the food came out relatively fast. The kitchen is open until midnight so I can see how it is a very popular spot for college students, which seems to be most of their customers. In terms of the ambiance, it was very casual. There is a bar up front with Korean BBQ plates. They also have there own private parking lot, which is a plus!"
"Great place! The staff was so nice. I got two bowls and they were great. I enjoyed the vegan beef and noodles. It was really delicious and all the toppings were flavorful and fresh. The spicy chili sauce was great. My husband really liked his chicken bowl as well. Excellent value for the price. I can't wait to go back and try different items. They also had some fun snacks and a freezer full of mochi and other items. The restaurant was very clean as well. Definitely will be a repeat customer."
"Really great food and very fast service. We've never had a bad experience. I recommend the Bulgogi and the bowls, love their kimchi too!"
"Fairly authentic food. Closes early so need to get dinner before 6.A little salty. Price is reasonable and staff nice."
"Between you and me, I have a crush on one of the ajummas here - she doesn't know it but it's one of the reasons why I keep coming back. But onto what truly matters in a KBBQ establishment - the meat. Heaven all mighty how I could deceive you all by saying the meat was on a whole 'nother level, but honestly it isn't the best meat I've laid tongue on. Don't get me wrong, the meat isn't bad, but it definitely isn't the gold standard. Where this place truly shines is in its warm atmosphere of food and cheer. This is where you come to hang out with friends over good food and drinks. The servers here add to the boisterous atmosphere along with the blaring non-stop K-pop.Though I have enjoyed many occasions here with friends, it really isn't anything special compared to other Maryland KBBQ locations in Ellicott city and Rockville. However, it is the only place in Maryland that does KBBQ, a necessary pillar of Asian cuisine that needs to be represented.I believe the only thing holding this place back is the quality of meat. If it were higher and shown more attention, this place would be unstoppable. Alas, it still has a place in my heart. Would recommend and will be visiting again."
"Really delicious and reasonably pricedDid their $36 AYCE and was well worth it!The spicy pork belly was amazing! The brisket was great too!Service was good."
"This restaurant has been on of my go-to take-out places to get on Grubhub. The packaging is incredibly neat, the food arrives in a very reasonably 25-35 minutes usually, and there is tons of customizability to mix things up since you'll be ordering from this place so often (the food is also reasonably priced). I usually get the 16oz bowl with extra meat as an add on. I find that this combo maximizes on the protein:carb ratio so you get less filler rice and more yummy stuff to eat the rice with. The spicy pork belly and spicy chicken definitely bring the heat so if you can't handle spice, I'd avoid these 2 protein options-- it's not overwhelmingly spicy, but it definitely makes me sweat. The kalbi is delicious-- I wish it came with more since so much of the cut is bone, but I still get it anyways."

It's been so long since I've had authentic Korean barbecue but this hit the spot! I was a bit skeptical about driving out to Ellicott City, but it was worth the drive. Also, the marketplace and other storefronts in the strip mall add to the whole reason to visit. Anyways, the food was DELICIOUS! Seriously, any place where they bring you the banchan without asking and cook right on the table is a win. The bulgogi is so tender and tasty. We ordered wayyy too much, but it's not like I'm going to complain about having leftover jap chae for lunch. A definite must visit!

Fabulous place for dinner. Fabulous place for lunch. I've done both many times and it's a wonderful experience. There are many working here so it seems like a well oiled, family run establishment. I've always been treated very well here even though most times I am dining alone and it's not a huge check. Their table side accompaniments are interesting, tasty and free. All of their entrees come exactly as described on the menu. I return often.

Hands down the best best korean food in dare I say the DMV? It's for sure the best BBQ, and I've been to Annadale and Ellicott City. Jong Kak is in the former Koreatown of Baltimore and has such a long history in the city. It serves a lot of MICA kids and stays open quite late and offers karaoke in the evenings. I believe it's only Friday and Saturday. I've been here a handful of times, and the staff is always super friendly, and they bring you yakult as an after dinner service. I came here recently on a random Friday for lunch and the kimchi pancake was so good, the first time I had it, it was lacking but it's always dependent on what kimchi you use. It's very traditional in the side dishes they bring you, and they will bring you lettuce for the bbq. They have a lot of Korean dishes you don't get in a lot of places, and for that I am so grateful. Their takeout is also solid, I've gotten it delivered a handful of times. The area can get a little sketchy, but always worth a visit if you're craving Karaoke (eat to get a discount on the hourly rate), BBQ or just a good Korean meal.

Grabbed dinner here the other night. I used to frequent this location a decade ago when it was under different ownership. The true Korean BBQ experience is gone. You can order some other Korean dishes. We got the bulgogi which was good, the other steak dish which was just ok, the seafood pancake was truly bland and underwhelming, and the beef tofu soup which was great. I was disappointed both in the variety of banchan. The ambiance is very casual and they have a parking lot next door

Simple menu, great food. Haven't tried everything on the menu yet but the snow onion chicken and the garlic chicken are our go-tos. I think this might be my favorite snow onion chicken I've had (the pickled onions compliments the fried chicken, rice, and white sauce so well). I would recommend getting the sauces on the side, especially if you taking it out to go.

"Fantastic loved the Yumi roll! The service was friendly and polite. I will def comeback. I left my keys thereAnd the waiter came back outside to give them to me. So grateful for this place!"
"Just so much character and fun! Make sure you call before going or else you may be turned away. We went at 6 and there was nobody else there, and we were treated to first class sass and great service. The food was also really nice, but a little pricey. We ordered the donburi, beef shabu shabu, and chicken pad Thai. All dishes were seasoned well (shabu was slightly too salty) but really complex and nice. Will definitely be back."
"If you want some spicy pork and bossam this is the place to go, my friends and I were fighting over the food it was so good! There was tons of flavor in every bite! We loved it. As soon as you walk in and walk past the counter someone greeted us and sat us down. The place looks like a Korean tradition restaurant. The restaurant was pretty packed but we came between lunch and dinner time so there was no wait. The server came right over and told us when we are ready to press the button on the table, which we love, it gave us time to decide what we wanted. As soon as we pressed the button someone ran right over to check on us! Highly recommend, even worth traveling too, yes it was that good!"
"Not sure why more people don't come here more often. The chicken is SOOOOOOOO GOOD! And for those who haven't tried Korean fried chicken before, it's pretty much double fried and sauced very well, not like other wing spots where they skimp on sauce. They also have other Korean dishes and sides just for you to try if you crave it. Full bar as well! Just be mindful the parking lot can get crazy because of the grocery store next door.Come here! It's very chill and good f-ing food!"
"My boyfriend brought me here on a holiday because they were 1) open and 2) open late. I was thrown off by the fusion especially when I read the menu. I got the beef bulgogi bowl with all the Korean-style toppings including an egg. It's kind of like a fast casual bibimbap but you can make it Mexican-style if you like. The portions were good and the flavor of everything was tasty. Not bad."
"I've been here a couple times but visited again after a long time and was surprised at how good it was! We got the seafood jaengban chajang (noodles with black bean sauce), champpong (spicy seafood noodles), and pork tangsuyuk (deep fried pork with sweet and sour sauce) and everything was delicious with good portion sizes."
"A hidden gem in Owings Mills! I had the chance to try this place the other day for the first time. I recall when they first opened but always forgot to follow up and visit and this time around they popped in my mind when I was in the mood for some teriyaki chicken. They are located in a small shopping center by Stevenson University, parking is available which is helpful and they are also offering curbside pickup. They are following COVID safety guidelines with social distancing enforced and masks required. I was greeted by a young woman upon entering and after scoping the menu I decided to go with a combo bowl (chicken & shrimp) which included rice (white or brown for an upcharge) and vegetables. I went ahead and threw in some chicken dumplings because of course I needed to try those. Took about 15 minutes for my food to be ready which was worth the weight. The portion size for the price point is great and the bowl was flavorful and filling! The dumplings were also tasty and they were automatically placed in the bowl so they tasted great with the teriyaki sauce. So glad I was able to visit this place and I'll be heading back very soon!"
"I'm new to the area so I haven't been eating as much, but when I do I scout out places based on my pallet at the time. Yesterday I was in the mood for some chicken wings and Bonchon popped up in my search. I was already nearby in the Kentlands neighborhood, a very trendy neighborhood to walk and check out various restaurants and shops. I ordered the Combo 4 wings 2 drumsticks, spicy and spicy garlic off l the dinner menu. It was very pricey for what you get in my opinion. Anyway, I got home and started eating the wings, then I got to the drumsticks, OMG they were the two largest drumsticks I have ever seen. I almost did not want to eat them, because all I could think of was this chicken had to be on steroids for them to be so large. I regret now not taking pictures to post but trust me when I say they were huge but delicious. It's a cute Korean restaurant with a full bar with TV and music in the background. Unfortunately, there isn't any outside seating but I can see this spot popping off in the Spring and Summer time because it's in a very affluent neighborhood for families to walk to and from home.I look forward to going back."
"I almost didn't get out of my car to go into this place once I realized it was in a grocery store. I said what the heck and went in anyway. I'm so so happy I did. There's a little food court, so you have options...Nice.My ribs were served sizzling on a cast iron plate, which beautifully carmelized the meat and onions. YUM! My only complaint about the food. They only have white rice; I prefer to frequent places that offer healthier options like brown or black. Other than that, this place is a gem!"
"Where do you go when you're in the city at 8pm, you're hungry and you have no idea what to eat? You go to R. House. A plethora of options await you. I've been here many times before but tried Korean this time. I love a good bulgogi.I ordered the chicken bulgogi, as-is, no substitutes and it was so good. The chicken was tender, the rice was warm, and the veggies were fresh and crisp. I added a side of crispy shrimp dumplings which were just ok. It was a quiet evening so we had our pick of tables. Most were clean and ready for us to plop down and devour our meals. The portion was just enough to fill you up without making you feel like a balloon. That's the great thing about food bowls - a perfect mix of greens, grains, protein and veggies. Enjoy!"
"GogiGo is a great addition to Frederick, MD! Went here with my sister despite the mixed reviews, but figure we should go see and experience it personally.I had the all you can eat a+b option roughly $36 per person.I enjoyed the interior, design and layout of the place. The tables are wide enough for drinks side dishes etc. the only thing i disliked were the chairs. They are utterly uncomfortable, especially after 30mins of sitting. The food were good! Gogi steak, beef brisket, and spicy squid were delicious. I did not like that the marinated steak and pork belly had so much fat on them. But also there are variety of other choices of protein. They do offer basket of lettuce and other veggie side dishes which is good with meats. Be sure to ask for the SESAME OIL, sprinkle some salt and pepper and it taste amazing with your beef. The service was exceptional. Servers were very accomidating and helpful. The guy who brought us the meats was great, did not let us wait too long inbetween ordering. There was also an elder ajumma who were very thoughtful and nice! Lowkey taught us to wrap the beefs in lettuce with the garlic + spiced paste they give you. I thought that was the most humbling thing! The grill was good, but the oil from fatty meat were dripping down on the open flame not sure if thats safe. Maybe it is just how it is. Overall, good food, good service, great hood above the grill (keeping smoke/smell minimal)."
"Continuing with the New Year's binge eating, I was craving Korean fried chicken and tteokbokki (rice cake) with cheese. Thanks YouTube. So after a few minutes of yelping, decided to check out this place in Columbia, MD.This is a quaint little restaurant that serves up good bar food. I was being lazy tonight, so I ordered the boneless soy garlic chicken bites and seafood tteokbokki dish. I really liked the bite sized chicken. Though it was white meat, the dish is still juicy snd very much crunchy and flavorful. Breading was kept at a minimum, therefore every bite was more chicken! On to the tteokbokki dish. As I'm not an expert at what is good or traditional tteokbokki, I can only tell you I really enjoyed this dish! The ingredients consisted of muscles, octopus, and fish cakes. It was like eating the selective sea mixed with chewy rice cakes (love chewy!), stringy melted mozzarella, and a sweet spicy red sauce. It's my trinity of flavor town (savory, sweet, and spicy).Staff were friendly and wore mask and gloves. This is a nice little uppity place for a handful of friends to chat and eat. Nomz. Till next we eat, be safe and healthy fams!"
"First time here and impressed. Very clean, fresh ingredients, cooked on the spot to order and delivered to table by a robot. Def coming back and trying everything on the menu if this authentic Korean restaurant"
"In the beginning I was afraid that if I left too good of a review, the place would get overcrowded and I wouldn't be able to eat here as often as I wanted. I know. I'm a selfish prick. But after reading some of the low-star reviews, I felt the need to tip the scale to righteousness. Some people think doing a good review is to be critical as possible, and some do reviews just to complain about something. None of y'all are judges for Top Chef, so quit that shit.Dudes. They have the #1 깍두기 and 김치 in HOCO. Anyone who knows Korean food will tell you, bonchon in Korean food is like salsas in Mexi restaurants: It is a direct correlation to how good the rest of the food are. Their soup is criminal smooth and rich, and they are not cheap to load up on the meat. On a cold winter day, there's nothing better. Well, maybe pho, but that a different genre. I'm just grateful JangSu is nearby to serve this Korean authenticity right."
"This is so exciting to be the first reviewer! So I just came from an event that was catered by the Chicken Lab. They are officially opening on Dec 17th. I liked this sandwich infinitely more than the famous Ekiben. I got the sweet and spicy fried chicken sandwich and it was incredible! Like 10/10! Reminded me of a much better take on the chick-fila sandwich with the sweet and spicy sriracha sauce. My friend enjoyed her garlic chicken sandwich. They also had kimchi fried rice for the vegetarian folx. Overall, the food was a big hit! Welcome to Federal hill, Chicken lab!! I can't wait to try more of the menu"
"We're so happy to have a Korean BBQ spot in the Canton neighborhood! We visited on a Monday night to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary. The place was fairly quiet, though a few tables were occupied, and it had a steady flow of customers. We were greeted promptly and seated right away. Our server was attentive and cooked the BBQ for us, which was a nice touch--we didn't have to cook it ourselves! We ordered the Korean BBQ set for two, and it was generous enough to leave us feeling quite full, especially with the two sides. The quality of the meat was excellent--definitely a cut above what you'd find at an AYCE place. The meat was so well-marinated that we didn't even need extra sauce. For sides, we had the kimchi stew and egg soufflé, both of which were delicious. We also enjoyed the banchan that came with the meal. For appetizers, we got the seafood pancake and dumplings. While we didn't care much for the dumplings--they were a bit too deep-fried for our taste and we didn't particularly care for the sweet sauce drizzled either. The seafood pancake was fresh and good. However, we would have preferred it to be crispier, but that's just a personal preference.I really hope this place does well. It's great to see a Korean BBQ spot and Asian-owned restaurant in the Baltimore city area! We're excited to return and try more of their dishes. Welcome to the neighborhood!"
"This food court is located inside a lotte: when you walk in, it's on the left side in the back. There are a couple of tables to sit at, but you can also order food to go. They have tons of korean dishes, from bibimbap to gimbap, and mandoo to ox tail soup. The majority of the dishes have meat, but what do you expect, it's korean food! If you're not feeling korean food (idk why you wouldn't, it's delicious), they do have cheesesteaks (labeled cheese stick) and hamburgers (labeled hamberg)... kinda got a good laugh out of that. There's a $7 credit card minimum, but most of the dishes are in the $8-12 range. If you pay with cash, you get a choice of complimentary soda or water. My bf and I got the jjajangmyeon to go. It came to $7 and some change so we just made the credit card minimum. They packaged the noodles in a styrofoam container and the black bean sauce in a plastic container. I'm really glad that they did that or else the black bean sauce would've definitely oozed out. We mixed the noodles and sauce at home. It was pretty delicious! Not the best jjajangmyeon that I've ever had, but still pretty good. I'll definitely be back to try some other dishes."
"First time here. This restaurant just opened last week. My coworkers love it. I decided to give it a try.I ordered the chicken ramen. The broth was the key ingredient in this dish. The broth was thick and flavorful. I definitely enjoyed dining in at this restaurant. The lady right next to me told me the sushi sampler was delicious. Definitely will be back soon."
"Love this Korean place, it is located in the food court of H mart in Catonsville. Prices are relatively low compared to Korean restaurants nearby, but portions are huge, and the quality and the taste of the food are similar or better! Our favorites are: dolsot bibimbap and spicy seafood noodle soup. Some of the stir-fry dishes such as pork with green beans are also very tasty. Each order comes with self-served miso soup and some kimchi. The dining area is kind of small and sketchy, and really cold, bring a jacket with you!"
"Soju Haus has creative and tasty drinks. We started with creative blends, crab-Apple splash, melona, and strawberry yogurt which ended up being everyone's favorite. For the appetizer, we got the party platter which consisted of waffle fries, mozzarella sticks, Takoyaki, fried dumplings and fried squid. This was a good amount for our group. Brisket and bulgogi were . The bulgogi had a good amount of sweetness. The brisket was tangy and tender with just the right amount of seasoning. It needed to come in a bigger portion. The ambience was great with the Kpop mural on the wall with black pink and bts. If you're in the mood after downing a few drinks, you can sing your heart out with the karaoke rooms. Would absolutely come back again."
"Cute little family restaurant. Their fish platters are amazing! Fast service and quality food."
"My family and I stopped in Kokoyami for a meal after exercising. It's a new restaurant in the area and we wanted to give it a try since it changed from Bonsai to Kokoyami. We like to enjoy a meal of take out one occasion and this presented a good opportunity to try something new to the neighborhood. We got steak and shrimp. Hibachi, steak hibachi, volcano rolls sushi and the hottest hot wings they have. The wings were specifically for me. I really really like wings. I really like these wings a lot, they were styled like Korean, barbecue wings as in they had an almost tempura styled breading but it wasn't too heavy. Not too light. It was just right. They were spicy like I like them and had a very good flavor. I'll certainly buy these again. The steak and shrimp hibachi was for my wife. She enjoyed that a lot. She shared with me and I thought it was very very good. The final hibachi which was just steak was for my children which they also shared because I just had the wings and they enjoyed that as well. Lastly, the volcano roll it was new to us but good as well. I don't have any bad things to say about this place at this time. We will definitely be back again. We enjoyed our food, the service was great. The cashier was very kind and attentive to my request and questions about what I should order to satisfy our family. Pricing pricing was typical, especially for the amount of food that we got. The hibachis were more than enough for any one person and we probably could have gotten away with just buying one and sharing it between the four of us with the wings and the sushi. All of the hibachis came with a garden salad and miso soup. So with all that included, although the price came out to about $76, I think the price was fair given the amount of food that we got and the quality and taste of the food. The ambiance in the restaurant reminds me of a strictly take out restaurant but they do have a few seats for dining and a bar for high chaired dining as well. We'll be going back!"
