"HEY !! BE CAREFUL! TAKE A DEEP BREATH! YOU'RE IN A 110 YEARS OLD BUSINESS!!!! In 1914, an 18 year old Luigi Di Pasquale Sr. opened a corner grocer in Highlandtown Baltimore MD, and you know what? I was lucky enough to go to that location! On May 1st, 2021 , they moved to Brewers Hill to write a new chapter of history, and finally, last week, I was able to go and visit! Wow! Now the history, the 110 years of experience, and with a great design, Di Pasquale is an Italian heaven that helps all the DMV & Baltimore people to live their Italian dream! Unless you're inside the store now while reading my review, nothing will make sense to you! Joe DiPasquale, the owner, was waiting outside the door, watching and warning everyone to pay the parking meter if they were staying and warning everyone if the towing truck was coming! Lol, that really showed me care! This guy is genuine!! He could've let any worker do that for him! But he was greeting everyone and with love taking care of us and making sure no one got ticketed or got their vehicle towed away! There are 2 styles to dine in here! To actually be seated like in a restaurant, a waitress will help you, and you eat your food in porcelain plates and metal silverware, and you can get alcohol or you take your food to go and there are 3 tables inside and a few outdoor ( the outdoor tables are like a picnic style table bench) . The MENU IS HUGE! the deli style refrigerator display has endless choices of food you can get! They know it's a lot, and that's why they have the choose 3 combo ( ask about it when you get there and look at my choices in the photos ) I also ordered 2 hot subs , the iconic Lamborghini, and the real deal veal ! I got a Tiramisu and 3 mini cannolis ! Pistachio, mocha, and traditional! Thank God I had my cousin with me to share. Otherwise, I would've been to a food coma ! But you know what?? I didn't feel tired after eating their food! Clean ingredients ;)Every single item was good!! Everything was tasty! Yummy! There are a lot of items to go back and try! Things I have no idea about, and it might take me years to explore, lol. After I was done , I shopped at the market and bought an Italian type of cookie bag that I suspected it looks like something my grandma ( we're Coptic Egyptians) used to make from milk cream and this one was made from milk cream too! And the same shape!! I got excited and got two bags! Oh my goodness! It's the same!! ( A lot of the Coptic "native Egyptian " food is shared between Greeks and Italians) Try it, vote for the review , message me, or compliment me with any comment or question, and don't forget to ... Pray for me ;)"
"Open as of June 2021. Accepts both cash and credit card. Delivery through delivery apps such as UberEats and Doordash.I never tried this place before and was craving for some Italian sandwiches. Decided to give this place a try. WOW, I got to admit, I am a fan of this food establishment. We decided to try their cold cut, steak and cheese and their spaghetti and meatballs. Please note we paid $8.99 for the spaghetti and meatballs (this is not the frozen version).First off, the spaghetti and meatballs comes in a large bowl enough for 2-3 people as side dishes. The red sauce has tons of good flavor. Wished there was more sauce though. Comes topped with cheese. In terms of meatballs, our dish only came with 2 meatballs. The noodles were more on the thick side which I appreciate. Had a nice chew to it. Definitely kid friendly if you are trying to find dishes for children.Up next is the steak and cheese. The meat (steak) was flavorful. Not sure if its entirely homemade or store bought. It's a bit on the peppery side. Comes with cheese and optional toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, onion, oil & vinegar. And of course cheese. The individual toppings were pretty good. The bread that holds it together soaks up all the juices and sweat from all the other ingredients and has a nice chew to it. It was really good. Not sure if its the best cheesesteak I've tasted, but it was good. Wished there was a bit more meat. If you want a little bit of heat to it, I recommend asking to put in hot peppers.Last, the cold cut. According to my fellow Yelp reviewer, this sandwich is a must try. In my honest opinion, I think this sandwich is a true winner. Haven't had cold cuts in a while so I wanted to give this place a try. Boy, it did not disappoint. Recommend asking for everything in terms of toppings. With each topping, it adds a good bite to it. Mayo, Oil/Vinegar and hot pepper is a MUST on this sandwich. If you can't decide what size sandwich to get, trust me and get the LARGE. You can thank me later :)Overall, if you are in the mood for a delicious Italian sandwich, then look no further. This sandwich spot is pretty good. Definitely recommend this place to my fellow Yelpers. Prices here are reasonable and will include a menu w/ my review. Again, when in doubt, get the large sandwich. Also, their spaghetti and meatballs is kid friendly."
"I'm a regular patron, big fan of the old country artisanal sandwiches, like a charcuterie board on an italian roll. Pizza and other sandwiches are equally worth trying, great ingredients and good sized. Has a small deli and italian groceries.Mostly take-out, a couple of small tables but not a dine-in kind of place. Call ahead, wait time is usually 20-25 min. Prices are average for the area, better if you consider the quality."
"I don't know why it took me so long to make it to Chuck's. I had always heard great things about this spot which is located off the beaten path in Hampden. We came in for breakfast on my birthday which was on a Sunday. This spot is definitely very popular! We waited for about 20 minutes before we were seated which was no problem since we enjoyed some coffees while we waited. The inside is a classic diner set up with bar seating, dining room seating, and lots of to-go goods like wine, beer, liquor, and even produce. They also have outdoor seating on a covered porch. We sat outside and ordered skillets which come with eggs and hash browns and a variety of other toppings that you can either build yourself or select from a menu of enticing options. I had trouble deciding myself so I chose to build my own with bacon, tomato, red peppers, and onions. My boyfriend got the Spaniard skillet which comes with chorizo that he enjoyed. They also have a house hot sauce that was pretty good. In addition to the skillet, I ordered a side of cheesy grits which was one of the largest serving of grits I've ever seen and came loaded with so much cheese. It was delicious! On this particular day, food took a little while to come out and it seemed like others experienced long wait times as well. I'm sure it's just because their kitchen is small and it was so busy that day. Other than that, service was attentive and friendly. I will definitely be back to Chuck's for breakfast and to work remotely on their deck. I've also heard their burger night on Wednesday is great too."

I've been wanting to come to DiPasquale's since I saw Guy fieri on triple D years back. It's been on my list when I get to Baltimore. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!The market is absolute perfection! Seeing italian brands I can't find in chain supermarkets. The prosciutto is tender, fresh, and so flavorful I can still taste it on my sub with mozzarella. Highly recommend any of the salads - shell pasta was my fav! Next time I'm going to eat in, this trip was to go. Buon appetito!

They've been posting about a pickle sandwich special for a few weeks. My curiosity and love for pickles had me speeding here on my break. This place gets pretty crowded but I called ahead so that I could get in and get out. I got 2 of picklewiches, one was a Rachel and the other was a Cloak and Dagger. I had no idea what to expect but they were both pretty good.I also got an American Cold Cut and it was nice and fresh. I appreciate a cold cut on good bread with fresh veggies and this did the trick. I may ask for extra meat when I order next time. I did see that they had pizza but the chubby girl in me said "Chill until your next visit" I will go back soon.

A favorite coffee shop was closed on Tuesdays so we decided to keep walking on 36th to Chuck's. As others have written, this spot is off the beaten path. Arrived close to closing time so we ordered to-go.Rustic interior with mixed/outdoor seating and a home turned into a restaurant.A small refrigerated grocery section offering produce, milk, soft drinks and Beer. We ordered the Pimlico skillet-Confit mushrooms played nicely with the eggs and spinach, The Reuben-any time I see "house....." it's a good sign. House braised corned beef made for a tasty sandwich. The pancakes oh the pancakes-don't know and don't need to know what they put in the batter but these cakes stole the show. Homemade berry compote took it over the top but these cakes were fine alone- no syrup necessary-delicious.Service was friendly and engaged. They have weekly specials posted on their website. Hampden hidden gem is an understatement! We will be back!

We had our Christmas Eve dinner catered by them and it was phenomenal: paella Valenciana, lentils, butternut squash, tortilla Espanola, croquetas de bacalao- which we fried ourselves, flan, all well prepared and absolutely delicious! The only flop was the arroz con dulce- too milky. Nonetheless, we would order from here again- we've also had their delicious crab cakes, empanadas, guacamole and fresh fish- what an absolute treat in Bethesda! Also check out Butchers Alley across the street- amazing cheese selection and incredible variety of meats.

Anyone who's attended Johns Hopkins is most certainly well-acquainted with "Uni Mini," and I was an undergrad at Hopkins look enough ago that I remember when they moved here from their old location...and it was a HUGE upgrade. The place is basically an institution at Hopkins, and you come here for one thing and one thing only: a little hoagie called the steak egg and cheese with 2 hashbrowns inside. Maybe I'm a little biased, but I have yet to find a hoagie anywhere that is as satisfying whether I'm sober or drunk. No joke, one of the main reasons that I'm tempted to attend the annual JHU Alumni Weekend is the prospect of being able to go to to Uni Mini for some steak egg and cheese, and there are seriously some days that I fantasize about hopping on a plane to Baltimore just to get myself one.

Won my taste buds! Very cute little and clean neat restaurant to enjoy! Food quality was excellent and customer service was excellent. I had the buffet that included Nahari and Bryani and chicken curry. Prices were reasonable and a excellent place to enjoy dinner with family.

"I love the fish here. My wife and I went in to buy some crab cakes for our family for dinner and enjoy a shrimp cocktail together while we were there. We bought the shrimp cocktail, 8 shrimp, enough for two. The manager served us the shrimp but no cocktail sauce. I requested some. He told us we had to buy it. What? He pointed to the fridge where there was a tub for sale. I said I just wanted enough to enjoy our "shrimp cocktail." He reaches under the counter and gives me a plastic cup with about a tablespoon of cocktail sauce. I asked for another because there wasn't enough for one let alone both of us. "No," he said, pointing to the tub in the fridge, "that's all you get. Buy some if you want more."Well that really dampened our experience, took the joy out of the moment. I never understand when a pricey upscale place makes a point of gouging you for necessities of the meal. I spent about $50 (36 for the crabcakes, 12 for the cocktail). Next they'll be charging for napkins. Food was good. But they get 2 stars because the service was regrettable. If I had it to do over again I would have gone elsewhere for our dinner to avoid that experience."
"I'm going to keep this short & sweet - Whenever I am out at night, before I head home, I ALWAYS stop thru 'Uni Mini' for a DELICIOUS greasy sub ... Without question, some of the best subs in Bmore! And you get a FREE fountain drink w/ ANY sub purchase ... WHUUUT WHUUUUT!!?!?!? SCORE!!BEWARE: It can get INSANELY packed Thurs - Sat nights after 12. Be ready to wait but it will be soooo worth it!"
"The sign outside that says "fresh pies daily" caught my eye. I am a curious home cook, and love using a variety of flavors. This we'll-stocked store has it all, and then some! The surprise was how delicious the hot Za'atar Pies are. I want to try every single one. Don't hesitate to stop in."
"I really like this place and I do not know why people complain. This is not a wegman if your standards are too high then move on. I been coming here for years and never been disappointed. Keep up the good work"
