Vera M. "What more can I say about this restaurant. The ambiance is pretty good, oldies but goodies, some say it's close to the ambiance you get when you're in Greece. Service was pretty good, but the food is the thing that I kept coming back! All is so delicious and the portions are generous. This is my go to Greek Restaurant."

Christina L. "Great for lunch. My sister treated me. Food was very flavorful. Steak was tender. Rice had a nice flavor, I did not need anything on it. Salad was great. I asked them not to include cucumbers or olives. The salad would've been a little fuller had I not, fyi. Will definitely have them again for lunch. Or maybe dinner."

Mark N. "Great food and great service at reasonable prices. Nice bar and a decent although relatively short drinks list. Star items:1. Tuna tartare - Wild bigeye tuna tossed with Meyer lemon and Greek extra virgin olive oil with cucumbers, shallots, and avocado mousse. Lots of great flavors and textures. Decent portion size.2. The lamb shank - slow braised. Super tender and flavorful. Paired with orzo and a vegetable stew.Logistics: Plenty of parking. Reservations via Open Table. Ali T. "I have been coming here for years... when they first opened this location I was hoping for a traditional sit-down clone of the original Samos... but in the end this was obviously both the correct business decision and also the best for all of us customers! If you want more formal (but still relaxed) sit-down traditional Greek food, with the wide array of slow cooked and complicated dishes, you should go to the original Samos in Greektown. If you want the faster fare version, either for a casual sit-down or take-away meal, this is the best place for Greek food anywhere in Baltimore.Everything, and I mean everything, on the menu is amazing. In the Greek spreads I recommend the tzatziki or the tapenade, but they're all good. The salads are robust, and if you add protein they can serve very easily as a full meal. The pita wraps are all very well portioned and reasonably priced. The small plates work well for sharing as an appetizer or a side dish, and I in particular love the spanakopita and fried calamari. The platters are my go to for an after workout lunch or a dinner. The vegetarian moussaka is delicious and absolutely worth trying. All of the side dishes are delicious, and it's really a matter of your preference.Adding a grilled souvlaki skewer is really only beneficial if you feel like you need extra protein. The normal portions on the platters and salads and wraps is more than adequate. The one thing I would not strongly recommend are t desserts... It's just not as good as at the traditional restaurant."

Adam R. "The original Greek seafood on Baltimore and still the best! Before it was trendy it was Black Olive. For over 25 years on Fells Point, Black Olive has served the best and freshest seafood. Staff is terrific. Attentive, friendly, informative, everyone at Black Olive is here to make you feel special. Standouts are the dorade, the bronzino, the eggplant dip, the squid ink pasta (unreal!!) and the lamb chops. nothing will disappoint you. And then the wine list. Varied and extensive and the team is most knowledgeable. We had the treat this last time w Alain serving the wine and Janine serving the food. We were introduced to some great wine recommendations and pairings. It's a must eat and one of the few great Baltimore restaurants that's independent and unique. Enjoy!"

I'm not sure if I was eating hummus or eggplant dip but that tasted phenomenal. 4 stars because my food wasn't hot so I imagine I would have given 5 stars if all my items were at temperature. I will definitely plan to visit the actual restaurant in the future."

Eric H. "Ordered a gyros for takeout, and was surprised to open up a pita with a generous helping of... grilled gyros meat strips. They didn't taste bad, but they were jerky-thin and pretty dry, as if they'd been waiting for a while. And when a place talks up their "Greek specialties" and charges ten and a half bucks for a gyros, I figure it might be sliced off a big spit. I figured wrong. The menu photo shows tomato slices, but the actual sandwich had a generous helping of fixed tomatoes and red onions. To their credit, the sandwich was served on a compostable clamshell... but it's a gyros, so it might as well just be wrapped in paper and foil."

The meal was less than $100 and with the delicious food we got it was a steal. I was impressed with the servers way of hadnling the order and the way it was delivered. Also, while we were finishing up our meal, the female server stopped and picked up finished plates and glasses it seem very effecient. Plus we were served so much we had to get three take bowls to bring home."

Anastacia T. "Not the first time here but love it every time we come. The food is delicious!!! We order a platter for two and always take quarter of it home. Meat is always fresh, onions are well seasoned (like it used to be at home - Central Asia), fries are homemade and bread is always fresh. Yummy!! They have a seating area for dine-in, small cute blue square tables for 2-4 people. Perfect for kids (have high chairs). Plenty of parking. A good place for a quick (not quick read below;) bite, pick-up and local foodies. The only downside is that you have to buy water (they don't provide water or even cups for drinks you buy). They are very slow with cleaning tables, and prep orders for dine-in. We always wait for at least 35-40 min to get our food. The cashier(maybe manager maybe owner) never smiles, never follows up, so be prepared for it. Will I come back? Definitely for food not the service. At the end of the day, the taste is what matters."

I heated some of the leftover dolmades the next day and they were still great. The gyro pita was much bigger than expected, and delicious. My brother picked up a 16" pizza with pepperoni and black olives, and the smell alone just about did me in. The crust was very thin and slightly charred, yet tasty and "yeasty." This tiny restaurant is in "downtown Churchville," (if you've been there, you'll understand why I put it in quotes) and it's a little hard to get in and out, especially if you're turning left on Churchville Road. I think it's worth it, though. We're already planning our next order."

We ordered the beef and lamb gyro sandwich and a Greek salad with falafel on it. The sandwich had great flavor but it was so loaded with lettuce and tomatoes that it was essentially a salad with some meat at the bottom. I'm also used to double the meat on my gyro sandwiches, this one was a bit hidden. The Greek salad was exactly what we were expecting but they didn't include the black olives which is a BIG deal for a Greek salad and what my wife and daughter loves the most.I'm excited to try something else like maybe the moussaka would be better? But the sandwiches I'll pass on next time."

I learned that lamb and beef gyros are an American adaptation of the original Greek dish. I also ordered dolmades which were nearly the best I have ever tasted. I was greeted by a very nice young lady who was a good sport about my being me. She stated that they've been in business in the Forest Hill location for about 22 years. They offer quite a selection of olives and olive oils.
