This place gives backyard party vibes. I ordered the Hampden Wooder Ice drink.Service was quick.Enjoyed this drink and like the ice they use (it's like Chic Fil A ice, for reference)Wish they had some seating with backs. There were only picnic table benches & bar stools."

The tables are distanced and have the QR scanner codes on them for the menu. They offer outside seating. The food was good, it is American bar food; burgers, wings, fries, etc... they give you a lot for the price. This would be a good place to come watch a sports game, they have tons of TVs around the bar. They also offer lots of drinking options and have games."

Lori N. "Let me start off by saying that this place is amazing!! The food is great and I love the atmosphere (quiet and intimate). The music they listen is good as well. I have been there several times already and did not have one waitress that I did not like.. all of them are so nice and helpful. My family went again on New Years Eve... our waitress this time was Ashley was sooo friendly and attentive she gave us great ideas for our dinner. My favorite drink there is the spiced pear martini.. The bar manager Richard came out the table and was very insightful about the drink menus. That was not the 1st time I have spoken to Richard about the drink menu seems to care about what people think about the drinks that come from the bar. I wish I had taken pictures of the food and drinks to show how delicious they look.. if you get a chance try the fried green tomatoes by far my favorite app."

Erica B. "Reviews for this place pop up on my Instagram timeline all the time. I finally decided to give them a try and babyyyyyyyy they did not disappoint.I stopped in on a Wednesday around 6:30. There were no other customers there but in the short time I waited for my food, about 3 or 4 customers came in to order. I planned to order my food to go but although empty, I could feel the vibes so I dined inside. I went with the stuffed salmon, collard greens and Mac and cheese were my sides. I also ordered a side of sweet potatoes because I could smell cinnamon/soul food the minute I walked through the door. My first bite was the collard greens, so was my second, third and forth. I couldn't stop! Then I tried the stuffed salmon, perfection!!! I almost ordered it without the old bay aioli because I was nervous about it making the salmon too salty. I'm glad I ordered as is. It is BOMB!! It's stuffed, really stuffed, possibly with a whole nice size crab cake on top, in addition to the crab meat inside the fish. Next bite was the Mac and cheese. Gosh it was so flavorful. I'd like it a little cheesier but I'm still ordering again on my next visit. Lastly was the sweet potatoes. Divine!!! So good! They were more like mashed sweet potatoes which I love! And listen .... If they add sweet potato pie to the menu and use the same recipe as they do for the sides .... My lord!! Take my money! Heading back to try the stuffed lamb chops, potato salad and the brunch menu. I glanced quickly and the first thing I saw was "The Notorious T-Bone", t- bone steak, cheese eggs and welch's grape. Stop playing with meeeee Highly recommend!! Already told friends!"

They even suggested making a pot pie for me without chicken which means everything is really made to order based on your needs and tastes.I ended up ordering the haddock sandwich and the seasoning was quite delicious though the sandwich overall was quite messy. When I ordered the sandwich they said it came with cole slaw and a pickle so I assumed the cole slaw came on the side but when the sandwich came out the slaw was on top which gave the sandwich a lot of flavor but made for one messy sandwich and no utensils were provided. The person who took my order was extremely friendly and complimented all of the food on the menu and did so it a truly authentic way - it was obvious that he really liked everything! Overall the food was pretty tasty, the options seemed to fit the name of the restaurant."

Becky H. "My friends and I drove up from Laurel, MD to visit the Strawbridge Shrine (review coming soon) outside of New Windsor. We had a whole list of potential lunch spots for when we left there; two in New Windsor and some on the way back to Laurel. We ended up choosing UME because of the bigger variety of food on offer and we were so glad we went!Parking is free, on the street. There are probably times you'd have to park farther but we arrived just as they opened at 11 so it was easy.Décor is fun - like a diner I might have gone to as a child in the 60's. The "public face" who seated us (they actually told me this) is the most welcoming and affable person, who grasped our lady date vibe immediately and was just as fun as the place. I will warn you right off - too many amazing sounding choices on the menu! Also, it pays to ask for more detailed info: I don't like horseradish and it turns out the tiger sauce on the Matty Melt is made with that. Our person (I never caught their name, dangit!) offered to customize by having it made with plain mayo. Sold! So, C ordered the cheesesteak sub, E chose the turkey bacon ranch panini, and I did get the Matty Melt, sans horseradish. We each cut our sammie in half, then a half in half again, then shared all around. For those of you who don't want to math, we each had 1/4 of the other two flavors, plus 1/2 of our own and it was a delightful sampler! All of the ingredients were so fresh and so flavorful. The lettuce on them was not wilted like shredded lettuce can get so easily. Tomato bursting with flavor, crispy bacon, and the steak! wow! We all turned down chips or other starches, but we each got a dill spear which was tasty. Even sharing out the food, it was too much for me for one meal so I have lunch for tomorrow :DPrices are right in line with any other casual dining experience. $14.99 for a really good hoagie or panini is perfect. We treated our friend and split the rest of the bill in half, so it was less than $30 for me. Toss in the cash tip which happily C always does, too, and it was still only $40! I often say this but I'm very serious - if it wasn't so far from home, since I'm not in Laurel but 20 minutes from there - I would make the trek again and again to eat here. And you know what, I might just do it anyway! I have loads of time when g'kids are in school and I could easily drive up just for lunch... Hmmm."

No problem with service I'm sure at least five different people attended to our needs. The soups were just ok. The Maryland crab was more vegetables than crab. The cream of crab was tasty and full of crab. Just too thick for me. The sandwiches were just ok. The turkey was good and enjoyed the green beans and the stuffing. It's an ok place"

The server was not friendly, didn't smile .. just blah! I don't see why so many ppl keep coming to a place that CLEARLY does not need customers because if they did they would treat us with a little more respect and kindness. So sad to see them turn away soo many parties of 2 because they didn't have a reservation. James R. "Sadly, I was disappointed with my dinner experience at SoBo Cafe. The cafe itself feels much more like a bar, which is cool, but the quality of food for the style of dishes in context with the atmosphere felt mismatched. My favorite dishes were the crab soup and the smith island cake. The crab soup was pretty good, with lumps of crab. The smith island cake was moist with good chocolate icing... although as you can see in the photos, the layers of the yellow cake inside weren't even, and the chocolate was clumped in some areas. Nitpicking, yea- but keep in mind this is a $10 piece of cake. The Peruvian roasted chicken was okay- it was cooked well and had decent flavor, although a bit overpowered by the dressing. The sides with it were just okay and nothing great. Cornbread very just okay and dry at parts. I would've ordered this dish for $15, but not $29.Now unfortunately for the worst parts. Being Italian, I am particular when it comes to meatballs- although there have been times Ive enjoyed ordering meatballs in restaurants. This was not one of those times. The meatballs were inedible for me.My friend didn't mind them, but she also likes the meatballs from Subway... and she even acknowledged that they weren't that good, which says a lot.The brussels sprouts were weird. I have never had orange slices and creamy aioli-like dressing with warm brussels sprouts and goat cheese for good reason: it's not very good. This was an extremely odd combination that our waiter did recommend ordering the broccoli instead (probably would've been a good choice), but for some reason I didn't imagine fully what the appetizer would be. I'm not usually big on making a point about price, but the dishes at SoBo were way over priced for their quality. Yes, they are elaborate and technically high end style dishes worthy of higher price points, but the quality and execution of these dishes are so lacking that the price points cannot be justified. At $95 per person, dinner at SoBo Cafe was far from satisfactory. It wasn't the worst meal, but for how everything was priced, I cannot give this restaurant more than three stars.I do not include service in my rating, but our waiter also wasn't the best or most attentive. He had the attitude of a bartender who would rather be doing something else."

Due to me going out to the truck late, I wasn't able to order items I was interested in from their online menu. I ended up ordering the lamb gyro. The owner seemed really sweet and apologized repeatedly for running out of options especially since I couldn't even get the side of fries. They did give me some chips to replace this though, which was thoughtful. I have to say it looked appealing & the portion was very filling. The taste to me was satisfying! I enjoyed everything about the gyro & would recommend this option to anyone who would enjoy. Hopefully when they return I can try the other options."

My favorite is the chorizo taco, which was packed with flavor. The cow tongue and steak tacos was delicious as well. My only complaints were that there was only 1-2 pieces of shrimp in the shrimp tacos and the chicken taco was a bit of the drier end. The also have a condiment station where you can get more salsa, sauces, and toppings for your tacos. The service was pretty fast. The tacos came out after 5 minutes of ordering them. I would definitely come back here to try the other menu items!"

Stephanie C. "I'm not sure where to begin. By far, the BEST service I've received in this area (Wolfgang Puck's restaurant in Hawaii would compare)We came in here on a whim for our Anniversary to try the Tomahawk steak and couldn't have been happier. The environment was homey with comfortable seating and a lot of home photos. We were seated with Stacie who immediately welcomed us, explained the menu, told us the specials, and cracked some jokes. She really made us feel at home and gave us sufficient time to review the menu in case we wanted to try anything else. We did decide on the Tomahawk and she let us know it would be 45 minutes but she would keep us updated and it would be carved table side. We elected to try the deviled eggs which she recommended and explained to us that the breading and sauce were the same used in the Buttermilk Chicken Sando. These eggs were FIRE! I told her I would be coming back to try the sandwich, and think it would be awesome with the deviled egg filling on top! Next up, she gave us some cornbread since we still had a while to wait and it was a perfect intermission! She kept us updated every so often and made sure our drinks stayed full. She would stop by to check on us or make general conversation. Finally she said the Tomahawk was on the way! I asked if I could video and she said they love it! The steak melted in our mouths and was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Everything we ate was just delicious. The experience was truly bar none and the food was absolutely amazing. I would eat here again and hope I could get Stacie back! I did listen to the other servers while we were waiting and they all seemed to be amazing. I know others on here feel this place is on the pricey side, however I did some research on the cost of a Tomahawk before we came in and I'm satisfied with what we spent. This definitely has more upscale vibes with the service and food but you won't feel out of place if you dine in jeans!"
