"A cute study spot in the Mt. Vernon area! They have a rotating selection of syrups that are great in drinks, especially in their matchas. I got the maple brown sugar caramel syrup in my matcha, and my friend got the lavender vanilla syrup in hers, and both were great with the flavors of the syrups clearly coming through. The only con to the matcha is the size is pretty small for the price, so I wouldn't be coming here for my regular matcha fix, but it is a nice treat. The spicy-g mac and cheese is a highlight of the menu, and comes in a pretty big portion for its price, which was pleasantly surprising. The portion of the Spicy Korean Street Style Noodles was also very large and enough to take home for leftovers for me, but leaned a little saltier than how I would typically eat, especially with the Spicy Garlic Chicken as my protein. The pricing is reasonable at $15 for the noodles. Another highlight on the menu for me has been the kimchi potato salad, which is perfectly tangy and a great fusion dish. Service was quick; no complaints from me!The WiFi works pretty well and there are plenty of seats, but the volume is a little high for a good study spot without noise cancelling headphones if that's what you're looking for--but it's definitely a great brunch spot on the weekends."
"Flew in to DC on a red eye from Fresno this morning. First time back in 18 years, after living here for 37 years. I met a friend for a late lunch here. It was freaking delicious. I had the Chicken and Waffles with a side of Cheesy Grits, and he had Eggs Benedict with Salmon. This place alone would make me move back."

"If you're a fan of Ethiopian cuisine, Shagga is a definitely worth visiting. The service is attentive and friendly; the staff are eager to explain dishes and make recommendations if you're new to Ethiopian cuisine. I've been inside to order take-out but have never dined in, although I plan to. Very simple and intimate atmosphere. Their kitfo is the best in the area in my opinion and is my go-to dish. Their combo platters have great portions and nothing I've tried so far has disappointed."
"This is my go to breakfast spot when I visit the Baltimore/ Washington area and need breakfast on the go. Bagels 'n Grinds is conveniently located directly across from The Hotel, which is where I stay whenever I'm in town visiting family and friends. Their hours are 6am- 2pm daily. They offer coffee drinks, bagels, wraps, sandwiches salads, soups and sweets. We always order online and pick up our food since it is in the same strip as our hotel. My husband always gets a coffee and The extremely meaty breakfast bagel. I always order the garden state as a wrap. I appreciate being able to customize my order to get it exactly the way I like it. If you sign up with them they will send you exclusive offers and promotions so don't forget to sign up. Every time I've visited the food is fresh and tasty and the coffee is good too. The ambiance is relaxing and a great place to sit and enjoy your food. I look forward to my next visit so I can try more menu items."
"I need to hang out on Main Street more often. I'm not a coffee drinker, but they love lovely teas and pastries. I went around lunch time, so I shouldn't have been surprised by how busy it was. I was extra surprised to learn about a basement, where no one was. It is literally the perfect place to hang out and work at. And free parking along the street? C'mon.I ordered the blueberry hibiscus tea, which was ready almost immediately and came in the most lovely tea cup and saucer. And I was shocked to see a kouign-amann in their display case. Yes I got it... and they warmed it up for me :). It was soooo tasty while I chatted with the person I was meeting. This is a lovely coffee house and they have a heartwarming mission. Pay them a visit!"
"I popped in here on a whim before checking out the reviews, and I'm so glad I did! My buddies and I were craving a local breakfast, and this place did not disappoint. The service was friendly and super fast, and the food was absolutely delicious! The crepes were a highlight--just the right thickness and so tasty. We tried both savory and sweet options, and they were all amazing. The weather was perfect to sit outside and enjoy the food on the street tables like Europe. I can't wait to come back next time with more friends!"
"Other than asking the kid behind the desk what's good and him having no idea, the place was top notch. Old fashioned, apple fritter, all of it. Plus, solid local coffee. Service was quick, neat old school ambiance.Additionally, these guys aren't on the "let's charge $5 a donut train." Reasonable prices.I'll be back."
"The short: big, seemingly popular local spot -- but one that can't handle crowds. The longer: popped in for coffee & donut in the morning at opening (7:30am) and with no one there, but they forgot my drip coffee until I reminded them; they told us to come back when the kitchen opened. I pop back in at 11am on a Monday (holiday) and it's packed. I order at the takeout counter, and 45 mins later I go check on my order, only to learn that the kitchen doesn't have my order ticket?I ask the manager Laura for a refund, and it's issued without question - or frankly - any apology/remorse/explanation. I was given a strange look when I asked for a receipt to prove the refund. The coffee is mid, and customer service was among the top weirdest I've ever experienced. I would recommend avoiding."
"Stopped in for drinks and a dessert. Continues to provide outstanding service and awesome selection."
"Half priced burger nights on Tuesday is a good time!!They have a variety of burgers, including turkey burgers.I love their fries!! But you can also get fruit or salad if you are watching your calorie intake. They also have other daily specials, including 1/2 priced whiskey nights!"
"It's a great spot to meet up with friends. The pastry selection was my favorite. They were cold in the middle even after being warmed up but a good experience overall"
"Really good. It's no wonder there's a constant line here. A bit packed and chaotic but the line and order comes quick. Small bathroom but decent. Not too many seats but we were able to find some. I parked a block away in the retail paid parking area and walked over.I got a half bagel with avocado, tomatoes, micro greens and balsamic vinaigrette. It was perfectly toasted and fresh. I got my matcha latte with oat milk at 50% sweetness and it was probably the best matcha latte I've ever had.... The sweetness was just right - there were chunks of matcha at the bottom but I thought it wasn't too bitter so I really enjoyed it. I rarely finish a hot drink in one sitting like that."

Upon my recent visit to Baltimore, Dooby's was walking distance from my hotel so I found myself here for both breakfast and lunch during my stay. For my first visit, I opted for one of their bowls. I love that you can customize it with your base, proteins and sauces. I opted for a blend of greens and brown rice with the spicy garlic chicken. It was packed with veggies and flavor and I loved it.The next day I popped in for coffee and a homestyle breakfast. Also solid.I enjoyed visiting Dooby's and I think its a great spot to grab a bite and pop open your laptop (on the counter seats).

We stopped here for a late lunch. The place had 3 parties dining and there was still a great amount of space for our party of 4 to dine. The staff was very customer service oriented and they welcomed us into the place as soon as we walked in.They have a sign that tells customers upon entry that they automatically charge 20% gratuity for all dine-in orders, which is what we normally tip, and this was very fair and reasonable to have up front. We ordered: a Burger with shoestring fries + garlic dipping sauce on the side, Shrimp with collards over rice and plantains, fried green tomatoes + garlic dipping sauce on side, a chicken and queso fresco empanada, 2 beef and cheddar empanadas, a side of collard greens, and an order of chicken and waffles. Our drinks were: Sangria, Peach Lemonade, water, and Apple Juice. Our food was out in about 15 minutes, which was perfect timing. Everything was delicious except for the fried green tomatoes. They put too much salt in the batter used to fry the green tomatoes. Without the coating, the tomatoes were still delicious and cooked well. The server was excellent and he told us the history of his grandmother opening the first Salvadoran restaurant in DC. This is a restaurant legacy family and this place is tasty. They even had a picture of President Obama and his family on the wall because the First Family visited their restaurant, pretty cool. We will mark this place as one to visit again in DC. Thanks, great place to try new things.

The service was amazing!! The young lady was very nice, I got the combination choice #1, the chicken wot was not as spicy as I imagined or the lentils and I love spicy, the greens were good and the beef tibs were good as well, next time I go back I will make sure they give me extra spicy and more sauce other than that I enjoyed it

I stopped by Bagels n Grinds for a Meetup event, and I'll will say that I was pleasantly surprised by how accommodating the Bagel & Coffee (or rather, grinds) folks were for our group. I'm assuming that the group organizer has something set up with the folks at Bagels n Grinds because the shop gave us our own section to chat. Unfortunately, I was meeting someone for lunch after the even so I did not get a chance to try any of the goodies that Bagels 'n Grinds has to offer. However, I did enjoy a couple delicious cafes americanos. I did appreciate that the shop has a huge variety of bagels. I'm not sure if I'm a huge fan of having to immediately enter the line as soon as you enter the shop. However, I guess that's smart on their end because as you go through the line, you'll probably order something before fully entering the dining/drinking area. For the area, I thought the prices were fine. Unfortunately, there is not much parking in the little shopping center, which isn't Bagels n Grinds' fault. There is a parking garage affiliated with the hotel, but I'm not 100% if you have to be a guest of the hotel to park in the garage. Fortunately for me, someone was leaving, and I nabbed their parking spot behind the shop. Looking forward to returning to try a bagel or two.

Food - Really, really good old fashioned, crafted donuts! I ordered a half dozen, the chocolate cream filled - the donut was perfect, thick, yeasty, sweet but not too sweet. And the filling, too many places the filling is whipped confectioner's sugar, some sort of fat (not butter) and all you taste is sugar, not so with these. NOT overly sugary sweet, generous filling that complements the donut, not over takes it. I've had their jelly filled ones better and they are also NOT overly or "candy-sweet" either.Service - I went later in the day, no one else was there and the lovely young lady manning the store was attentive, and provided lots of information about the products. I've heard stories about the "rush" times in the mornings. They do offer pre-ordering on-line on their web site so you can pick up starting at 6:30 in the mornings.Ambiance - it's a donut and coffee shop, no frills, no hype, smelled wonderful of fresh coffee (not the overheated stuff) and donuts. I don't know when exactly they mix and bake them. But the place had that "yeasty fresh baked" smell. A couple tables and seats, the emphasis is on taking the goods out of the shop. While I've had their donuts before, this was my first time going over myself. What was I thinking all these years? I should have been doing that that long ago. Don't make the same mistake as me. Go!

A trip to Kneads on a long weekend was chaotic. Popular place at the flagship and staff after the lunch crowd seemed a bit stretched. An hour wait was posted on a board at the entrance, I stepped in and immediately the smell of all things baked goods and roasters hit you not to mention very strong perfumes (whew, ugh) on a very wet day. Loud, indeed it was.The host at the stand that day made sure I knew of the hour wait. Right on. I didn't plan to dine in, and went on to the take out line. The loaves on shelves by the gift shop area were nearly empty and the pastries offered was sparse. I was overwhelmed by the time I got to ordering, I completely ordered the wrong drink and went for the pistachio chai. I requested less ice and with oatmilk. My son chose the cookie butter chai (I switched it to oatmilk) and smoked salmon on everything bagel. We also tried the ube and baklava donuts. It took about 25min for my drinks and another 10min for the smoked salmon bagel. Nearly half an inch less filled, my chai was rich which was yum however too sweet for my liking. The ube donut was picture perfect but the ube flavor was missing. The baklava donut is a great creation and need to mention this one only had a dolop of that creme... whatta tease. My son enjoyed his cookie butter chai and inhaled his smoked salmon bagel. On my way out I learned that Kneads does not replenish items throughout the day and only put out a day's worth of loaves made that morning. All in all it was OK first experience. Parking on the weekends is easy. Accessibility is limited once indoors, and note there is no elevator to the 2nd floor loft space.

"Red Emma's is my go to spot for a coffee. It's just what the neighborhood needs. The space is large and there's plenty of room for work and chill. The staff is super inviting and inclusive."
"One of my favorite summertime drinks! The Lavender Lemonade is unmatched, refreshing! Sad part is it's seasonal."
"Fantastic spot for breakfast or coffee. Lots of unique coffee/espresso beverages, clearly made with care. Latte was perfectly creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness. Both sandwiches we ordered (bacon, egg, and cheese, and chili paneer) were bursting with flavor. The space is very aesthetic (don't forget to grab some photos for Yelp or Instagram ) and they have lots of cute items for sale too. Staff are so kind and helpful; they answered a ton of my questions about the menu."
"My Wife and I truly started to enjoy coffee while living in Spokane, WA. When we moved back to Maryland, I am very happy that I found Baltimore Coffee & Tea has awesome staff, breakfasts, pastries and of course, Coffee!!.They are a staple in the Ft. Meade, community, everyday they give free drip coffee to military when in uniform! Oh, and I forgot to mention that every day the drip coffee flavor changes to keep every day interesting. It is guaranteed to smell good in there! You can smell the assortment of beans the minute you walk in the door! Grab a friend, get a coffee, and start your morning off right!"
"Although there are many options... Daily Grind is my neighborhood coffee shop of choice and I love the coffee here... the food is good and my baristas remember me... what more could I ask for"
"I'm think that this is the best and most unique ice cream shop in Annapolis. You choose from a variety of toppings, such as cookies, candies, sauces, and they have this really nifty machine that spins it together to make an excellent soft serve. I got the vanilla ice cream with peppermint syrup and Oreo, it was such a delicious treat. They also offer baked goods, tea and coffee. People that work there are very nice! I look forward to going there whenever I get a chance yo visit Annapolis."
"Lovely cafe right in Ellicott City! The interior design themed around records and vintage music makes me feel very cozy and ready to get a lot of work done. You MUST try the croffle; it's such a sweet treat, with both crunchy and chewy textures and ice cream to top it off. I also tried the Einspãnner coffee, which had just the right amount of sweetness! I can definitely see myself coming back here to do work and treat myself to their AMAZING croffle."
"Afters in Federal Hill is a sweet haven! After a tipsy evening at Watershed, their carrot cake hit the spot. Exceptional service helped me find the perfect treat. Truly, a must-visit dessert spot!Nice little ambiance as well. Had a beloved neighborhood spot vibe."
"A great go-to coffee shop where you can drink, snack and work the day away. If you are someone like me who needs a bit of noise in the background and does better working alone but still has movement of others surrounding them--this is the perfect coffee shop for you. Noises from people typing, taking work calls, ordering coffee and the espresso machine all going at once is perfection. Their menu is legit, and their creativeness shows--we have had some of their seasonal drinks and all have been amazing. The bathrooms are clean, staff is kind, and the other patrons aren't obnoxious. Great vibe."
"This should be interesting. So, I've been meaning to visit this place for a few months now. A friend of mine visited and raved about it. Day of visit... I walked in, checked out the menu and headed up to order. I ordered the Pesto Chicken Panini no cheese. Also ordered the Fresh Brewed Tea. I must say, everyone there was really nice and polite. They speak when they walk by and/ or if they happen to make eye contact. I love that! The environment was cool. The cafe is located in a shopping center at the corner which allows for outdoor seating and plenty of parking. They have a lot of stuff there. They sell bagels, sandwiches, soup, specialty beverages, reusable cups, freshly bagged coffee, you name it!They have a couple of those signs saying that time basically isn't of the essence. Everything's made to order. That's cool, but I never thought my panini would take 30 minutes, but it's ok. ... I had plenty of text messages and games to get updated on.Let me start with the panini, it's not your average panini. It's not on the flat sourdough bread that you anticipate. It's on a small roll. It's delicious! Fresh and soft. The pesto, delicious! My chicken, it was a little tough and difficult to chew. I would say a 3rd of it I just couldn't chew. I want to return back for a Reuben sandwich but I am afraid it may be tough as well so I think I try a breakfast sandwich. Specifically that Bagel BLT.Fresh brewed tea can be a handful and a hassle to sweeten to liking but this fresh brewed tea was worth it. They have a nice condiment station where they have several types of sugar to choose from. I put a few of the raw packets of sugar in and it was perfect. The fresh brewed tea had a smooth taste and actually probably would have been good without the sugar. I just couldn't go without.Although the food didn't win me over, the customer service certainly did and I am dedicated to returning back into a find that perfect match for my tummy.I'd definitely visit again!"
"Quaint and quirky with excellent coffee and yoghurt. Coffee shop on a bookstore just after the Main Street in downtown Annapolis. Excellent coffee. Terrific service."
"8.26.23Stopped in to wish our niece a happy birthday. While there, hubby and I each ordered an iced mocha coffee and I got a chocolate chip cookie. Didn't know they could make iced mocha. It was really good."
"Great coffee and amazing food and service. Their vegan scones are heavenly. Only negative is their limited hours of operation."
"There are so many cute and pretty treats here that really motivates food lovers!! The spot is off the Main Street but there are other parking spots nearby for convenience. The workers are friendly, helpful, and very kind when advising on delicious treats and willing to accommodate their recommendations to taste. Their fruity beverages are refreshing and their coffee is as strong as you want to make it. More than that, their spot is warm and welcoming with simple decor that warms the heart."
"Ordered a coffee smoothie with egg pudding and boba. The drink was was fully blended and did not separate. Would love to come back and try their fruity ones!"
"Two words.... Avocado Toast! Decided to give this place a chance after driving by a couple of times. I had to turn my preconceived biases about vegan spots off, and I am happy that I did. While LLC has many vegan options, they also carry vegetarian and items that contain regular dairy. Did I mention that they have amazing coffee as well. My wife is a chai latte enthusiast and she was well pleased with her drink. This was my first time here and it will not be the last. Wait! Staff and service were amazing as well. Ok. I'm done."
"We were on the highway, Yelped lunch, and found this place. It's very convenient- right around the corner from the parking garage. It took us a second to find the entrance- it's one of several places inside the old Francis Scott Key Hotel. Seating is at a premium in the actual cafe, but there are several more tables in the lovely and spacious air-conditioned lobby. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and got our food out licketty-split. I ordered the California Turkey Club as a wrap in a tossed red pepper tortilla. It was delicious, with the meat, cheese, and lettuce in just the right proportions, and came with a wedge of orange which was a nice touch. Anywhere else I would have given the sandwich 10/10, but here it suffered from comparison to my Bride's sandwich. She got the Turkey Pesto Panini with Avocado. The sandwich was immense! My darling Bride literally chortled and clapped her hands in delight. I was hoping I would have to help her finish it, but no dice- one bite was what I got. I wholeheartedly concur with her assessment- "they got the flavour balance *perfect* and the cheese pull was like something out of a dream." We may stop here again on the trip home just for one of those to call my own.We both made our sandwiches into lunch combos- for $2.99 you get a bag of chips and a beverage. We opted for a coffee and a can of Dr. Pepper. When the lady asked me how I take my coffee, I said "seriously. Very seriously." I needn't have worried- it was an amazing cup! Turns out it's Julius Meinl, and they import it all the way from Vienna. I ended up buying a kilo bag to take home. It cost more than lunch, and I'm not even sorry. Our lunch came to $30 before tip, and was worth every penny. Highly recommended!"
"Friendly, attentive, welcoming staff. Bright, stylish, plants, and good indie music. We are very happy to have finally tried Java Nation. Its name sounds like a generic coffee shop chain, but this place is anything but. Excellent attention to detail. Very good food which includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a full bar. Highly recommend."
"A go-to for breakfast, lunch, and coffee. I live and work in the area, and find myself in there multiple times per month. I've never had a bad experience, and I've been going for over a decade. The food is consistent and very reasonably priced. Where else can you get a BLT, chips, pickle, and large iced tea for less than $10? Just a heads up - they are often VERY busy. For good reason! They're awesome. But be prepared to wait. It's a small place, so it can get cramped during meal times. But it's so worth the wait, and the people who work there are fantastic. A true Catonsville gem."
"Decided to come here on a whim with 2 of my daughters and it was awesome. The food was super tasty and as a non pork eater I was thrilled at the turkey bacon options even for the loaded fries. (It's a small thing that means a lot to someone like me.) the atmosphere felt like a kitschy kitchen diner vibe and overall I love this little tucked away gem and will be back for more!"
"This place was on my try-list for a long time and I'm so glad I came!I came here after I finished an exam following a stressful start to my week. The place immediately made my day! Bryan took my order at the register, and he had the most welcoming warm and positive energy. The place itself is small, but it is so cozy and charming.I ordered a BYOBreaky with sourdough, a runny egg, bacon, and veggies - it was absolutely delicious. I also got a Split and Griddled muffin at Bryan's suggestion and loved it. My "You're my Best Friend" drink was also great and the perfect temperature. I look forward to coming again soon!"
"Great spot for coffee and breakfast. Great service, food was very good. We got the Breakfast Tacos and a Huevos Picados breakfast bowl. Free Wifi if you want (or need) to work; didnt get the pastries (trying to be good) bjt they looked fabulous. Highly rec"
"Pretty good bagel shop, located on the street front of the lobby of The Hotel at the University of Maryland.Mainly bagels and bagel sandwiches, they also have muffins and assorted baked goods. Juices, coffee, yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit, etc. Salads, wraps, sandwiches, and soups as well.Do yourself a favor and order ahead. The line can be a fairly long wait. You don't have to order at the counter in order to take advantage of the spacious seating, ample tables and comfy armchairs.Really the perfect breakfast spot if you're staying at the hotel. The prices may be a touch high for college kids, but if you're staying at the hotel, you just may prefer things a bit quieter anyway."
