Met up with an old friend at Busboys and Poets today. As I pulled up, I spotted the big corner building with its bold artwork, hard to miss. Parking was easy. They have free lots on both sides, and if those fill up, there's garage parking that was free on Saturday.I didn't have a reservation. Luckily, there was no wait, and we got seated upstairs right away. The place has two floors, plus outdoor seating both upstairs and downstairs. Light music played in the background. There's also bar seating downstairs, and an elevator if you don't want to take the stairs.We started with shrimp and crab fritters. Honestly, for the price, the portion felt underwhelming. For the main course, we ordered a Cobb salad and a chicken panini with avocado, served with potato fries. The food was okay. The service, though, was much better than the meal.Drinks were solid. The whole place has a relaxed brunch vibe, great for catching up. Would I come back? Maybe, but for the atmosphere more than the food.

It was good to back and I'm full. Before getting called for our table, I gave my daughter a brief tour. She was impressed with the local art and the sheer size of the rooms upstairs. We also checked out the bookstore, filled with variety of serious texts and comical items. I've never ordered breakfast food at this restaurant and 3 sweet potato pancakes were perfect. Though conversations filled the room, the volume was appropriate for this restaurant type. The server checked on us often and the food came quickly. Okay, I need to take a little nap to let this food digest.

This is one of the newer locations but I like it. It's very spacious and inviting. There is plenty of parking and its actually free! The service here is as expected. Great. I can always depend on the taste of the food to be consistent. I recommend this spot for lunch or dinner. They have some great drinks and some local favorites. The price is fairly reasonable and you get a reasonable portion as well.

I was hungry but I just left. I'm in my car very disappointed. I was seated and wait for 15 minutes and no waiter to even bring water. So I got up and went to the bar hoping for someone to get me anything. I watched the bartender clean and clean. 1 star for cleanliness. But she never asked if she could get me anything. I recently popped in at Bus Boys and Poets in Columbia, and I had a good experience! The restaurant has a beautiful interior and calm atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal. They have a lot of vegan options and some variety. There's something for everyone. The service was excellent, and I was pleasantly surprised when the wait time turned out to be only 35 minutes instead of the hour we were initially told. This was a nice bonus that set a positive tone for our visit.I went for lunch and had the Falafel Salad, and it was delicious! It was fresh, satisfying, vegan and gluten-freeOverall, my experience at Bus Boys and Poets was a good one. From start to finish, my experience at Busboys and poets makes me want to continually come back. While we waited for our table, we walked through the restaurant and bookstore. I would end up spending a fortune at their bookstore, there were so many fascinating books! Throughout the whole building art was everywhere. After we were sat, we were greeted by our friendly server. He was very attentive and made our dining experience seamless. I ordered the mekhleme and thoroughly enjoyed it. One thing I love about their menu is its inclusion of halal meat! Overall, this was an amazing dining experience and I will be coming back.
