Cozy neighborhood dive bar.My brother frequents Brannan so we went to check it out while I was visiting the area recently. My brother said he likes it because it's unpretentious and the regulars who frequent the bar are usually locals. He said it's always a good time as the people are cool and the drinks are fantastic. We actually stopped in for a midday cocktail on a Sunday afternoon. There were a few people there but not too many due to the time of day. We sat at the bar and an older gentleman took our order. My brother knew him so they chit chatted for awhile about the comings and goings of other locals. The bar is no frills for sure but I still found it warm and inviting. It had a certain charm to it that I can't really put my finger on. There are pool tables in the rear the bar and an electronic juke box. We played a couple rounds of pool while jamming to some tunes which was a lot of fun. I can't recall the name of the drinks I ordered but they were really good. They were fruity cocktails that the older gentleman mixed. He didn't skip on the alcohol either. We ordered 5 drinks total and the bill was just under $30.My brother told me that some people in the neighborhood look down on Brannan's because it's a dive bar but I had a great time. I didn't find anything wrong with it whatsoever. All the other patrons were really nice as was the bartender. The atmosphere was cozy and chill. I'd definitely visit again during a future trip.

I agree with Will. Great dive bar with the nicest of people sincerely. A microcosm of the city!!!!! Seriously diverse crowd and all cool to the bartenders!!!! I had a quick welcome from several people and could have stayed all night talking.Has pool tables, juke box, and regular American drafts. No craft beer here :( but that makes it a dive and not a hipster bar.Great job Brannans!

I live in the area & never have I ever noticed this little Pub, but while I was eating at Hamilton's Tavern I noticed all of the people going inside so I decided to check it out. It was nothing too fancy but the atmosphere was totally different than Hamilton's. Hamilton's was more relaxed & family friendly. Brannan's is strictly for adults, & they only serve alcohol. The drinks were dirt cheap & the bartender Chris was really nice. The people were welcoming & were there to have a good time. It was mainly an older crowd like 40 & over & everyone seemed to kno one another. I got there about 7:30 & stayed until about 1am. Needless to say I was having a good time. Lol They had people coming in selling food & people were getting food delivered & there was one lady even cooking in her crockpot. Lol Like I said it was nothing fancy but it was a really good time.

The BEST dive bar I have literally ever been to. I'm not even kidding. It was full of friendly folks, who were enjoying the music or singing along (and they were ALL good singers... I didn't hear anyone that made us cringe) and the atmosphere was hopping. The bathrooms were clean, and there was no line even though there are only a few stalls. Well done. My favorite part of this bar is also the incredibly cheap drinks. My friend paid $7 for 3 drinks... So you can imagine she tipped VERY well! What a bargain, and the drinks weren't weak at all. Everyone who lives near here should make it their neighborhood bar. Friendly faces, great music, well made drinks for not much money. Absolutely will be going back next time I'm in Baltimore.

Best dive bar for cheap drinks and local people. Cash only establishment but they have an ATM. No food is served here but you can order and bring into the bar if you like. There is usually a mix of older to younger people and sometimes occasionally a DJ. There are pool tables in the back.

Cool little dive bar. They have an ATM, but they are cash only so make sure you have some greenbacks on you before you order. Do your eating at the Hamilton Tavern, do your drinking at Brannan's.

This is the epitome of dive bars but I love it! They could spend some money on sprucing up the place but that is what gives it its charm. The crowd is very diverse, the drinks are strong and cheap. They don't take credit cards so I have to remember to get cash before I go. The also don't serve food but apparently they let you order/bring food from other nearby places and eat there. Most people congregate around the bar to watch tv or argue over football while others hang in the back to shoot pool. It's a new find for me but the bartender already knows my drink as soon as I sit down. It really is a great neighborhood spot.

$1 draft Yeunglings! Extremely friendly and diverse crowd of locals and regulars. Great bartenders, karaoke nights, pool tables, live music, all that. If you ever wanted to get drunk in a John Waters film, this is the place. Hamilton is quickly becoming every bit as hip as Hampden, and this place isn't going to have to change one bit to fit in.
