Great home cooking in mountain Maryland! Fried catfish was 100% on point! Open faced roast beef was great too! Overall, a great option for down home cooking at an affordable price!

The manager refused to allow us to have our Service Dogs in a public place- against Federal Law. She kept asking for papers. If anyone does have papers, they are fake. We showed her the card in photos attached, she didn't read it and said "anyone can have this card." Which is true- anyone can have this card because it simply states the Federal Law. We left, and will not go back.

Had dinner there recently and the special, their version of a sloppy Joe was a scoop of dry meat on a bun. The Reuben's had 3 times as much sour kraut as corned beef. Disappointed. It was 87 degrees in the dining room.Maybe its a better place for breakfast only.

I recently visited the business with my husband, a retired police officer. Unfortunately we left before eating.. Being a small town restaurant I expected a warm Inviting environment. That was NOT our experience!!! A veteran attempted to enter the restaurant with his service dog, keep In mind the dog was correctly outfitted. The manager of the restaurant whom I discovered through employee conversation was "nikki" was horrid. She asked for documentation the dog was actually a service dog.. Which is not necessary, another police officer eating in the restaurant confronted Nikki with this fact but she wouldn't budge. She sent the veteran and the dog out The door.. We left along with 2 large parties of customers!! A table of 8 and 10, so 21 people walked out your door due to the poor choice and rude behavior of 1 person. A Veteran deserves respect, a service dog.. The same! Clearly your manager needs to be properly trained in Maryland's retail food regulations (COMAR 10.15.03)Service and emotional support animals in food service facilities. I hope this doesn't happen every day, the owner lost $600-$750 in revenue not to mention the repeat business. Please take the time to be informed.. Ignorance is not acceptable!

What a great place! Exactly what I was looking and hoping for! We took a casual trip to Antietam National Battlefield and a few small towns in Western Maryland, and before I go, I like to map out a few possible places to stop and eat. This place was recommended by a local that I work with. We arrived shortly after the lunch crowd. It was mostly filled with older/mature locals, which is always a great sign. This is an old style, greasy spoon, diner. For those unfamiliar with the term, that is a compliment. Greasy, not meaning dirty. The place is clean and authentic, and the staff were polite, helpful, and welcoming. The menu is great, rather extensive, and offers something for everyone. The food was delicious, more than enough to eat, and at a great price. This is an out of the way, hidden gem. I will return someday, and I would recommend this establishment.

Not the most upscale, but if you heading there, you know that already I bet. The chicken fried steak and fried catfish are great. Some meals have been less great, but still worth going to if you like a nice local diner

Excellent Big Byrd platter! If you go and visit Antietam National Battlefield, don't go anywhere but Bonnie's. I've been going there for at least 15 years and have never been disappointed with the food or service.

The restaurant service is always very attentive and quick. The food is good and the prices are fair. We go there at least 2 to 4 times a month.
