Service was excellent, and the waitress was very attentive and sweet. Ambiance: the place came alive once the DJ arrived, but that didn't help the food...**sips tea**Lamb lollipops were extremely overcooked! The steak was seasonless, the salad had a sprinkle of dressing, and the macaroni was on point! The butter cake tasted like wet flour.... The drinks stayed on the table. We just checked it off as "We tried it." Someone wake up the ancestors and send them to Bowie...

Ambiance was good. Service was appropriate. Food: The sides were excellent. The double cut pork chops were inedible, overcooked and dried out. Would not recommend. Prices are not worth the quality of food received. I'd like to support but unsure if I'd go there again.

Came here with a girlfriend of mine and we had a great time!Great cocktails, very chill vibes (makes me wonder why I don't make time to come out to Bowie for dinner more often vs. dealing with the DC traffic/parking saga), and our waiter was very nice! For an appetizer, we shared an oxtail flatbread which was BOMB (the waiter told us ahead of time that it would be good for 2 people and he was right), and then I got the lamb chops with rice and beans. The lamb chops were delicious but the rice was reaaaaaally dry (I had to sip water to get a few bites down before I just pushed the dish away).Nonetheless, it's a great spot to catch a quick bite and have great convo over drinks and food. Plus they have a parking lot, so dealing with street parking is not part of the equation

I stopped by on a Friday at 4pm when they opened so of course there was no wait. My server was a young guy with a great personality who gave good recommendations. I wanted something light so I ordered off the happy hour menu. I had the lobster rolls minis with fries and a side of cabbage. The sliders were good but only had handful of fries. I prefer lobster rolls on buttered brioche bread but overall I didn't have any major complaints with my meal or the service. I look forward to coming back to order off the dinner menu.

I really liked the layout and openness of this restaurant. The location is easy to find and conveniently situated in its shopping center. There's amble parking. Customer service was great, no complaints there. I do wish the menu had more variety. My friends and I went for brunch. A lot of the menu feels like variations of shrimp and grits, they just swamp the shrimp/protein for something else (i.e. fish, steak, etc.). Three of us ordered the shrimp and grits and my one friend ordered snapper and grits. The snapper came out lightly breaded and fried, which didn't make sense with that dish. We also didn't care for the gravy that appeared on our dishes. We were hoping for a little more flavor or kick in the dish, but it wasn't there. I got a side of potatoes which tasted as if it was tossed in some type of sweet and sour sauce. It was nice. My sister ordered dessert, the butter cake. She was disappointed. Overall, I think many of the dishes lacked variety and freshness. The dessert didn't taste freshly baked and my sister mentioned how it seemed as if it was microwaved before they brought it out. I wouldn't mind returning during HH. The drinks were decent. My favorite part was the DJ, he came with some hits and absolutely had us vibing out!

I was sadden by BLVCK COW. I sent with some friends to celebrate my birthday, brunch style. It was recommended but a social group to hold a party at because it was a good vibe and to show support. Service was a little slow. One of my friends couldn't wait any longer for their meal and had to leave due to blood sugar being low :-(I usually order simple breakfast and stuck to the same this time : eggs, turkey sausage, grits and home fries. All of our food was under seasoned and some complained about temp and how dry some of it was like the French toast. Most of us order mimosas and ended up with headaches. I'm not too sure what type of champagne they use but was told this could be the culprit however at $31 for bottomless, one would hope for better quality. However, I don't know what was used and since I don't usually drink champagne I wasn't aware of what was causing it until discussing with it with friends data after. The inside is also a lot smaller then I had imagined. I feel snubbed and wish I had chosen a different restaurant to celebrate. My friends are great so they really made it fun.

I visited Blvck Cow this past Sunday, 8/4, for a friend's bday brunch. I'd never heard of the establishment before, and wasn't expecting it to be in a regular ol' plaza, but it was. The restaurant itself occupies a large space with one side devoted to tables and chairs and the other side a bar that spanned the wall, plus a lot of high top tables and chairs. Decent decor, though nondescript. Very clean bathrooms.First, there were A LOT of us. A LOT. Our server was a champ - I didn't get her name, but she's a small-framed petite woman with short blond hair. Anyway, excellent service from her. She kept her cool through multiple rounds of orders (drinks, apps, entrees) and all the questions from 14 women (and it likely got worse for her once we started drinking).I went with the bottomless mimosa, GM crunchy french toast, a side of eggs fried hard, and bacon (and possibly the potato hash, can't remember because of mimosas). I wanted the housemade corned beef hash, but they were out. Totally disappointed, I'm a corned beef hash connoisseur. Also, didn't love how all the entrees are a la carte. I feel the french toast should have at least come with eggs. All of the food was really good, but I'd say the french toast was pretty rich and I was unable to eat it all. I was nice and full and buzzed though, so no complaints.Again, our server was super helpful through the payment process. Blvck Cow doesn't split checks, but does take separate payments for large groups, so keep that in mind.Overall, excellent visit. I don't live out that way, so doubtful I become a regular, but good to know of decent spots to eat in various area codes!

Two Stars: One for Service One for Supporting my Local Community Blvck Cow oh how I wish I could rate them better! I've never been and I've had this place in my to-go list for quite sometime. It's unfortunate that is this my first experience. I came out today for HH.I walk in at 6:45 p.m. and there is about six people in the establishment. The bar didn't have several liquors so my friend couldn't get her drink of choice. The manager was SUPER respectful and apologetic about the inadequacy of the bar. She owned up and stated she understood the frustration. My drink was made incorrectly and I had to say something about it, they took it off the bill. Another mishap. We ordered the following:SlidersShrimp Skewers Shrimp Po Boy They were all okay. Nothing to write home about. Will definitely try again as people have said the food is okay.

I went a second time after literally giving this restaurant accolades and bringing business. They have not only changed ownership and management but they have scaled down the quality of their offerings tremendously to cut cost. Today I ordered the lamb chops and were told that the truck has not delivered yet. I then attempted to order the truffle fries and was told they no longer serve those along with a huge portion of their signature cocktails on happy hour. For today I ordered the ox tail flatbread, buffalo cauliflower and two drinks one of which was a house red wine for a total of $71. I left my food and just paid my bill. The flatbread had dry overcooked little shreds of oxtail and no peppers to go along with it. The cauliflower you could not even cut it was underdone. I mentioned that there cook must have changed and was told the head cook is out sick. Again these were all signs that I was dissatisfied. I've bragged about this place in the past but no longer will I or patronize as cutting coat has caused the quality to suffer.
