I come here for the yearly event. Every Black Friday they have Another Day Band perform. They play jazz, R&B. A little bit of this. A lot of that!They will have you jamming.Now blue dolphin is famous for their large crabcakes. Still delicious! Service was good as well. Unless you reserve a table. Seating is first come first serve. I look forward to this event each and every year. It's definitely a good time! Five stars is for the performance of the band!!

Have not been to the Blue Dolphin in quite a few years. Prices have increased quite a bit but the crab balls were so worth it. They were full of meat and no fillers. Simply delicious.We went on a Saturday around 4 pm and it was already busy. Service was slightly slower than I remember but the server was friendly and attentive.We did have one toddler in our group and we were not able to get her a high chair until close to the end of our meal. The server was very kind and apologized. He said he would definitely put in an order for more toddler chairs.Even so, it was a great meal and the friendship and atmosphere was good. I will definitely return again.

Blue Dolphin was just OK. My friends & I ordered crab cake platters. The crab cakes, while large & filling, lacked seasoning. Same with the fries. The salad was fine. Place is a bit confusing as there are three entrances. One for there banquet hall, another labeled carry out & then the actual restaurant. My friend went to the carry out since we were picking up food but was directed to go to the main restaurant. Plenty of parking. Not sure if I would go back.

"The Another Day band" was playing in the banquet hall for there annual Black Friday show. I think this marked their 16th year having the show. The place was packed to capacity. We had to stand in line waiting for overpriced drinks for about 20 minutes. Why couldn't they bring it like they bought the food? This was a big mystery!! The food was okay. My oysters were over battered, couldn't taste the oysters for the batter. Blue Dolphin has a live band every Thursday night which I didn't realize. Anyway it was a fun outing . BTW, there was a cover charge. I think I paid around $75.00 for 2 tickets. They check your tickets at the door when you enter. I am not sure if I will go again. This was my 3rd year attending this event.

The broiled seafood platter was my selection. The crab cake is better than I recall it being years ago. It use to have more if an egg souffle texture. Flavorful with enough crab meat even if it's not super lumb with little filler. The scallops didn't have a flavor and had a slight after taste that made me stop eating them. The flounder was tender. I noticed as time went by that the size and color of other broiled seafood platters looked fresh (plump,, white,, not dull beige) and their scallops, and fish were much larger. In retrospect I wonder if I had older seafood since I went earlier in the day. It looked like I had an entirely different meal. The drinks were pretty good. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. It's a nice size venue for groups.

I have a weakness for Crab Cakes, sometimes I order them as an appetizer (for sharing) or as an entree. If they are on the menu, 99.9% of the time, I will order them. Maryland is known for their fresh and tasty Crab Cakes, I was not going to miss out. The Blue Dolphin exceeded my expectations. Our group ordered a variety of dishes, from seafood to chicken and ribs. The portions were huge, the service was quick and our Server, Jennifer, was the best! Even though it was a busy Friday night, she was very attentive and so friendly. The Crabs Cakes come as a platter with two side dishes, I chose sautéed potatoes and spinach with Remoulade sauce. Most places offer tartar or cocktail sauce. If they have remoulade, you know you're having the real deal!! The Crab cake was a solid mound of Crab meat, not a lot of bread crumbs or filler. I tried my best to finish, I even took a break and still could not finish this delicious meal. One Crab cake at this fine establishment was bigger than other restaurants that serve two the size of a hamburger pattie. It may be a couple of years before I travel to Maryland, but when arrive at Blue Dolphin again, I won't forget to tell 'em Rosemary sent me!!!

So as of 5/11/24.. I have to speak on a treatment of one of my fitness when I was there. So my friend asked our waitress ( and older white lady) for a mixed drink. She told him she could not get it to him because they didn't have a bartender at the time. now we have been sitting in the lobby for 30 mins, and that bar area was filled with people, not to mention I saw a barten3d back there behind the bar. Sp I'm like, what? I called over. I don't know if he was the manager or not but I see him there all the time, and told him what was told to us. His eyes got big, and he said what? Told my friend he will get his drink soon. I watched the manager pull this lady aside, and then she came back and asked my friend what he wanted again, we told her. She said we can make your drink now. I dont know what this lady's issue was because when she walked off to the kitchen, my friends wife said she was fussing the whole time. But this dampened our time there. I understand you can have bad ballads but I have noticed people in the customer service careers have been having very bad attitudes and poor customer service lately. If that is the case do not take the job. Do something else. Work in an office. But dint take your nasty attitude out in the peoole that pay or leave a tip for you. Do you think you deserve a tip after that?

The crab cake was good, but that's about it. The crab cake was, as expected, large and well-seasoned. The sides were lacking, almost like a school cafeteria devoid of seasoning, creativity, and presentation. I decided to opt against the steak and crab cake as I saw others who ordered from the steak menu, and the cuts did not look as impressive as I would have hoped. I will give a bit of grace for the meat due to the price point, so not all is bad. The baked potato did not come with salt and pepper on the table or even brought after being requested. The spinach was average; you see the picture--it felt like an afterthought, as did the potato. The complementary bread was excellent and plentiful. The salad I saw from another diner plate was small, but the coconut shrimp looked good. There was one issue where a customer at the party had a piece of metal in the food, which, of course, was taken care of by management--oddly enough, the entire ticket was not comped, especially for such an egregious act so they paid for the appetizer. Another patron did not get food served until we were almost done, and again, instead of management comping or discounting the food, it was met with just an apology (at least they acknowledged) and a bill The atmosphere was (as you people say) mid. It was not flashy or fancy, but overall, it was clean, so that was nice.

I visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and was thoroughly disappointed. The service was extremely slow, and the food was subpar. I ordered the broiled seafood platter.The crab cakes were large, which was a positive, but they contained an excessive amount of filler, making them difficult to enjoy due to the overwhelming mush compared to the crab meat. The shrimp was overcooked and not deveined. The spinach tasted awful, and the pan-seared potatoes were oily. I will not be returning and do not recommend this restaurant.

I came here for the Wednesday steak special. 10/10, I would come back again. I got a T-bone with 2 sides and the bill was under $30. The food exceeded expectations. I was super satisfied. You definitely won't find a deal like this no where else.
