we had a great brunch at blackwall hitch! had a res for 2 on sunday at 11 but it wasn't very busy in there. the interior is very pretty - lots of natural light, black and silver modern nautical feel. we had good, quick, no frills service. our food was delicious and came out within 15 min. the chorizo breakfast skillet was large enough for a small army but i did feel like it was more potato than anything else. can't go wrong with a classic big breakfast combo!if you park in the pier V garage (~3-4 min walk) they will validate your parking to make it $12 regardless of when you are in the restaurant. so, for example, you could eat, get validation, then walk around for a few hours and leave knowing your parking will be $12 regardless. nice perk!

After going to the National Aquarium in Baltimore we were looking for a restuarant with in walking distance and Blackwall Hitch had favorable reviews. There were 9 of us all together and we were all well pleased. The food was very delicious and the seasonings in enhanced the food. I took a few pictures of what we had to eat. We ordered the crab dip with toasted mini naan bread, it was so so good. I personally had the Fish & Chips. What surprised me was the batter on the Halibut was not drowned in oil, Just perfectly crispy. My husband really enjoyed Mahi Mahi tacos. Also ordered & enjoyed was the Flatbread with arugula, roasted figs, mozzarella and light sauce, jumbo crab cake sandwich, shrimp & grits, the Blackwell Burger and another fish and chips. The french fries were real potatoes and the were nice and crispy. Normally I eat french fries with ketchup these didn't need any. For dessert we shared the molten lava cake and the apple pie , which was also very good with the fresh coffee.I must also add that our server Shayna was very nice and pleasant. We never felt rushed, she new the menu really well and was able to answer any questions and helped me personally with my choice. So thank you Shayna : ) I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the Baltimore area, especially if you go to the Aquarium which is a block away. They also validate parking if you park in the tall parking garage with a giant P on Pratt Street across from them. I would definitely go back again !

During a kid-free weekend, we headed to Baltimore for the Ravens' playoff game and decided on Blackwall Hitch for some day drinking and great food. Since we didn't have a reservation, we opted for seats at the bar, which worked out perfectly. If you're planning to visit and want a table, I'd recommend making a reservation--they were busy! Our bartender, a Steelers fan (ironically enough), was fantastic and gave us several recommendations. We ended up ordering: * Oysters on the Half Shell - Absolute perfection. * Cream of Crab Soup - Incredibly flavorful with plenty of crab. * Crab Dip - Good, but I've had better. To be fair, I have high standards--people pay me to make this for their parties! Others might say it was excellent. * Smoked Crab Toast - The standout dish! A total flavor bomb, filling, and packed with crab. I need to learn how to make this.Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this spot, especially given its location in the middle of Inner Harbor. Great atmosphere, solid food, and a fun experience!

I lived in Maryland years ago and this was always a favorite in Annapolis. Early dinner on Friday night. Plenty of room at the bar for a walk in. The bartender was super nice and accommodating.Started with the espresso martini. It was real good with right amount of sweetness, always a good touch with coffee beans on top. Fried green tomatoes for the starter. They were yummy. The honey drizzle was a great touch that really balanced the tartness of the tomato and slight kick of the blackened seasoning. All this was served on a bed of creamy grits. They offer crab on top as an upsell, I declined and I think that was the right call because the flavors balanced really well and I believe the crab would have confused things a bit.Scallops with sweet potato mash for the main course. Great choice, the scallops were cooked perfectly with a char on top without being overdone. The flavors oh my, a spicy jelly, combined with smoke on the scallops and creamy polenta...nice touch.I can't leave out the sweet potato mash, tasted like home.Excellent meal and service all around.

Last night in Baltimore and our group visited Blackwall Hitch. Blackwall Hitch is an upscale restaurant serving fresh seafood, flatbreads and a variety of salads.Blackwall Hitch does welcome large parties but be warned they do not split checks so your party will have to figure out settling the bill within your party with one form of payment.Blackwall Hitch did provide great service, delicious food and reasonably priced. I do recommend ordering several appetizers as we tried all and hit the spot.Several of our party tried the oyster and a shot and enjoyed the fresh oyster with the liquor of their choice. Our party did get a great view of the city while it snowed which provided an opportunity for photos of our dining experience.Overall we had a great evening, I would have enjoyed the flexibility of paying my own bill without the chaos of coordinating Venmo payments to handle of our bill. I do recommend Blackwall Hitch, just don't do group seating.

Made a reservation at 4:30 PM on a Saturday afternoon. Not crowded. Right on the harbor, so you have a nice view of the ships and shops. Warm greeting by the hostess, who was smartly dressed and wearing cool heart-shaped glasses. My server greeted me promptly. He checked on me regularly and several other people checked on me as well, including other servers and what I assume to be the manager, and even that cool hostess again.I started with the fried green tomatoes with crab meat and the smoked crab toast. Full disclosure, I'm not a huge seafood person, but when in Baltimore, you have to at least try! The fried green tomatoes was breaded well, so the coating didn't fall off like in some places. The grits were creamy. I didn't taste the hot honey at all. Maybe that's why the grits were creamy, but I didn't catch the flavor. The smoked crab toast: the focaccia was crispy and well grilled. The flavors were great, with capers, pickled radish, and herbs. At this point, I think maybe lump crab just isn't my thing? There was absolutely nothing wrong with the crab. For me it was just, "meh." I think this is a me thing and not a them thing.Other starters include shrimp, tuna tartare, wings, mussels. They also have oysters. For mains, they. have chef's catch, crab cakes, New York strip steak, pan seared salmon, wagyu steak frites, grilled pork chop, a grilled portobello mushroom for the veggies, Branzino, seaside Alfredo, etc.I had the filet Oscar, which is a 6 oz filet topped with crab meat, served with mashed potatoes, hollandaise, and charred broccolini. The steak was tender, the perfect medium temp that I ordered. The mashed potatoes actually had some flavor and creaminess and were served with the skins, so chunky. A lot of places serve bland mashed potatoes. The broccolini was smoky with some snap. Again, the lump crab . . . not sure it was worth the 58 dollar price tag. Again, that's a me thing, not a them thing. Just didn't add to my culinary experience.I did order a side of season fries because I often try fries at each establishment I patronize. The fries were chunky and well-seasoned, but a little cold. I think they could have been better and it was a one-off. But overall, pretty good. The drinks were okay. They have some fall-themed margaritas and martinis. With apple and cider flavors. They have a mango margarita, a pear martini, bourbon drinks. Nothing mind-blowing, but not bad. There was a dessert menu, but I didn't even give it a second look because I was so full.Would try this place again . . . but for seafood, I am going to try a couple of local recommendations like Mama's on the Half-shell or Jimmy's.

Came here for dinner and had a great experience! Enjoyed the crab dip (shared with colleagues) and the crab cakes entree which came with a spicy slaw, and potato wedges. Everything was absolutely delicious and filling too. Service was also great too. Our waitress checked on us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed. I'd love to come here again!

Food was mediocre. Wasn't wow by the offering. Had the brunch on Sunday. Prime rib was way too fatty.

Came in for a bite during the holidays after a visit to the aquarium. The place was pretty empty, so we were seated quickly. Vibes are good and the space feels upscale. I got their special dirty martini that was supposed to have hand stuffed olives (which really drew me in). It came with just 3 little lonely olives, not stuffed at all. Our server sent some stuffed ones over and they were a little sad. Idk what I was expecting but not little baby olives. ANYWAYs the drink was fine but don't let that handstuffed thing make you choose this drink over another, they weren't anything special.I had the Ahi Tuna Tartare appetizer as my meal. I through the flavors were good. I hadn't seen tuna minced up that small in a tartare before. I liked the peppers in it and the avo mousse went well. They served it with like 3 chips, which was funny to see on a plate. Menu also says there's "crispy rice" with it but it just looks like 5 little sesame seeds on top. My husband had the steak frites. He got the risotto and wedges with it. I am not a huge truffle fan, so the wedges weren't for me. I thought the risotto was to die for and I thought the steak was fine.My MIL got the steak salad and winter sangria. She called the drink "spicy" and didn't comment on her salad. This is pretty typical of her bc she doesn't love much. SO, no complaint prob means it was actually good.I would say Blackwall Hitch is all about vibes. Food is pricey but fine.

Came to Blackwall hitch for a company dinner and this was pretty good. Our waiter was really nice and very accommodating with us. We were in a semi private space in the back of the restaurant which provided a good intimate setting where we can talk about work. We ordered a lot of food and drinks prior to our entrees. The crab dip and calamari was delicious. I enjoyed my drink which was called the old hitch which was their take of an old fashioned. I ordered the trident broiler and this was pretty good but that time I was pretty full. The mashed potatoes were very garlicky and buttery they whipped It real good. The scallops aren't the best I've had but It was still good. The shrimps and crab cake was absolutely amazing and made sure I took It home as leftovers.
