I visited Bitty & Beau's last week. I arrived in Annapolis a little early for a meeting and decided a walk in the fresh snow for a coffee was the best way to spend that extra half hour I had! Bitty & Beau's is a chain. Their tag line is "a human rights movement disguised as a coffee shop," because their goal is to provide jobs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They employ more than 400 individuals with disabilities at their locations nationwide (the first location was in Wilmington NC, but they now have locations in several states). This location of Bitty & Beau's is right in the heart of historic Annapolis, just off the city dock, right by the Main Street circle. It couldn't be more convenient if you're touristing around Annapolis. I stopped in, ordered an Americano, and took it to go so I could enjoy a walk before my meeting. The Americano was great. The service was great. The space is large enough that it wouldn't be a bad place to set up with a laptop or a book. My only qualm (and it's such a minor one) is decor/ambiance related. It feels very dark inside, like you're in a basement even though you're at ground level. It's a long space with only windows in the front, but I think the paint colors add to the lack of brightness in the space. Not a big deal, but it might not be the best place for working, studying, or reading, since it isn't the brightest space. It isn't often that I write a review that covers the mission of the business in addition to the food/drink, service, and ambiance. But Bitty & Beau's is one of those places that are doing something different, something intentional that sets them apart. I enjoyed my coffee and my visit and will happily return the next time I need a coffee in the area!

While Bitty & Beau's is a regional chain of coffee shops, this particular visit was to their shop in Annapolis, and if was memorable in all the right ways! If you're in town and want a hot coffee (or something else) THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!Their website refers to Bitty & Beau's Coffee as a "human rights movement disguised as a coffee shop, where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are valued in the workplace!" All that might be true, but in addition, it's really a great place to get a cup of coffee, a hot chocolate, or a cold drink, and get to know they're very special and enthusiastic employees! If you're in Annapolis, and you DON'T stop here, think of it as an opportunity wasted! The people behind the counter are fantastic. They do a great job making the perfect beverage, AND their enthusiasm will LIFT YOU UP!I can't say enough about the ambience. It's a welcoming shop with enthusiastic people and great beverages and a few sweet treats as well! Are you there yet? What are you waiting for....GO!

LOOK WHAT I FOUND.....another Bitty & Beau's location! Like every other location, it is a unique coffee shop that employs beautiful individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. During today's visit, Heather tended to us and did a fabulous job. Heather's coworkers did an exceptional job, as well, with preparing our orders and it was fun noticing all of the happy customers throughout the shop.Be it the Bitty & Beau's in Annapolis or throughout the country, please give them some love and enjoy their wonderfully crafted products.

Bitty & Beau is such a wonderful concept. This is a coffee shop that hires intellectually disabled individuals to work in their stores. The Bitty & Beau name comes from the founder Amy Wright's two children of whom both were born with Down Syndrome. The first store opened in 2016 in Wilmington, North Carolina. There are currently 18 Bitty & Beau stores, across 11 states.I recently went to their location in Annapolis, Maryland. The inside is very cute with images of all of their locations. It was a bit dark, without any natural sunlight coming through. There was a young man named Max working here, there was no way you could miss him, even if you tried. He immediately yelled "Welcome to Bitty & Beau's, what can I get for you?" Long before I had a chance to even glance at the menu. He kept yelling, and said in five minutes he'll be leaving. I asked if he had lemonade. That didn't get me a response so I got an iced coffee. I also got some coffee beans to brew their coffee at home. This coffee was very tasty. It was pretty rich and flavorful! It was equally as tasty when brewed at home. While this is a wonderful cause that they're doing at Bitty & Beau's, a little more patience and kindness towards customers would be so much appreciated.

There is limited street parking which is free until 10am and then metered. The interior has a cool coffee hang out vibe. I love the mission of the organization to provide job opportunity to individuals with a disability. Everyone was friendly and we chatted prior to placing my order. I ordered an iced white chocolate mocha and while it wasn't the best I have had, it was decent and I think the coffee is good. I would come back.

A wonderful welcome from the staff soon as you walk into thru the door. Grateful menu selection even if you are not a coffee drinker. A cool bar you can sit at and enjoy your drinks and snacks. Highly recommend this cool spot.

I was waiting for my daughter's bus to arrive for our field trip to Annapolis and had a few minutes to kill. I saw Bitty & Beau's Coffee and decided that was the place to do it. According to their website, Bitty & Beau's is a "human rights rights movement disguised as a coffee shop". This means they hire employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities to work at their shops. When I entered the shop, there were four people working. I was greeted by a man at the register. I ordered a Cold Brew with Oat Milk and was handed a queen of clubs. A second employee made the drink and two others were working together to call out the orders. My cold brew was out quickly. It was good. The price was reasonable. The only thing different at Bitty & Beau's Coffee compared to my normal coffee shop experience was who took my order and served my drink. That's a human rights/coffee movement I can get behind.

I really like this coffee shop. I had never heard of the business until walking by but they employ disabled persons. The drinks are good and the interior decorations are cool

This establishment is awesome and we wanted to support because they hire people with intellectual disabilities and support the human rights movement which is why we stopped by. Ironically the "normal" employee who works there was UTTERLY RUDE and left us with disdain and walking out of there with a bad taste in our mouths. Didn't catch her name- long black hair ponytail and just bad manners and HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Its 95 degrees outside- in the middle of an excessive heat wave- ordered two orders of 4 shots of expresso over ICE with almond milk in 24 oz cups. They put them in tiny cups with lids- it was still warm. Told them it was wrong. They rude girl threw our cups and poured them out - put them in a small cup not enough ice. Had to let them know again that there was not enough ice- wrong cups. She angrily shoved more ice into the smaller cups. Meanwhile all the other workers were kind and wishing us a good day. Learn your manners girl- those bad vibes won't get you anywhere.

This place will make you appreciate what they do! They have a great mission to change the way we think about people. They hire workers with disabilities and get them a job! The coffee is very good. The espresso is creamy and we'll balanced. The inside is decorated so nicely and they have thought of every touch. I highly recommend this place for their coffee and for their mission!
