Bertha's Soul Food Bar and Grill

I ordered food from here via Grub Hub. I ordered the turkey chops, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese. It was DELICIOUS! My picky one year old ate some of the greens. He usually won't eat collards greens but he ate the ones from Bertha's and even had seconds.

I heard about this restaurant online and decided to give it a try. It was SHOCKINGLY good. I had the famous turkey wings and they definitely lived up to the hype. The fried chicken wings were seasoned spot on and fried to perfection. The collard greens were the perfect mix of sweet and savory. The macaroni was much creamier than most soul food restaurants, but definitely not in a bad way, it was also delicious. Even the cornbread was moist and delicious. To top it off they are on Grubhub, so I will definitely be ordering from here during the cold winter!

I'm new to the area and came across this gem on Doordash. The food is so good I ordered twice within a 72 hr window. All my interactions have been through delivery but at some point I plan on going there to get a feel of the ambiance. The first time I ordered I selected fried whiting, mac and cheese and candied yams. Then second time I ordered the whiting diner again same sides. Additionally, I ordered pan seared salmon with yellow rice and green beans and I also ordered fried wings with mac and cheese and candied yams. The food described in one word would have to be decadent. This is not the food you eat when you're counting calories. This is the food you eat when you want to be comforted and feel it in your soul. This is the food you eat when you want to watch a good movie and take a nap after. Having the same dish twice I can say there is definitely consistency in the recipes and I love that. Whiting fried to perfection and they made sure to include hot sauce and tartar. No one ever gives tartar so that already put them in top tier for me. The mac is super creamy but not runny, the yams are the right texture. Not too firm not too mushy. The chicken was crispy. The yellow rice and green beans very flavorful. The salmon you can get blackened, fried or pan seared. As mentioned earlier I went the pan seared route. I felt like the salmon was missing something. Paired with the rice and green beans it was good but I would have not enjoyed it alone. Next time I'll try it blackened or fried. But overall the food here is amazing and I HIGHLY recommend if you're in the mood for Soul Food.

Tried them again and still just as happy. Catfish was perfectly seasoned with a crisp to it. My only disappointment is the cornbread at $3 a piece, it is bite sized. I'm hoping that a purchased piece is bigger than what I got with dinner. I didn't get cornbread last time, but it was definitely delicious.

We went here on 11/1/2024 around 9PM.. we both ordered platters (whiting and turkey wings). It took our food so long to come out that we never received it. I ordered Pink Moscato as well. We sat at the bar and the bartender was cool fr. The place wasn't packed at all for a Friday. We waited until 10PM and still no food. So we left and just paid for the wine. We got one update like 20 mins after the order was placed. But nothing else lol even when we just decided to leave and just pay for the wine. We waited for an hour before we decided to just leave. And the staff was COOL. So let's get that clear. But it was just not enough communication when it came to our food. Come on Bertha's lol..

This place is so ghetto,I was there Saturday February 15th. 2025. Let's start with the order takers, no smiles, and they looked annoyed. The bartender was eating while taking drink orders, and to top it off, I waited 40 minutes for a shrimp dinner. I ordered fried shrimp, macaroni and cheese, and cabbage. They place my cabbage in the same container as the rest of my food so by the time I got home everything was drenched in cabbage juice. I was furious and No I didn't knocked my tray over. I will never go there again, I never go to Baltimore city but this place was highly recommended and I had an appointment 7 minutes from there.

First and last visit to this restaurant. Mac and cheese had several strands of human hair in it.Collard greens tasted like gas station toilet water. I don't know how long it will take to get the aftertaste out of my mouth.Shrimp was severely undercooked and the salmon was extremely dry.The 15 minute wait ended up being a 30 minute wait.I have to use Ozium to get the smell of the food out of my car. ...don't know how long that will take either.I threw the whole meal in the dumpster as soon as I got home so that my home wouldn't smell like it too.Called to ask for a refund and their phones don't even ring. I'll be going through my credit card company to get my $50 back. I can get the same meal from Harris Teeter's buffet for $30 or less.Only the service at the time of order was acceptable.

I been to Bretha's about six times.I stop going because the yams and Mac and cheese plus corn bread didn't taste the same.So today I decided to go back I wanted a crab cake dinner of course they was out of crab cakes so I got the fish dinner never again this was my last time going the fish was nasty Mac and cheese was horrible and the yams was horrible They need a new cook or something but they won't get my money no more.Please get a new cook the food is not the same anymore,don't go a waste of your money IT REALLY SUCKS.Food is horrible!!!That part.

Ordered Bertha's from uber eats. I eat from Bertha's quite often and have never had any problems before. Tonight when I received my salmon dinner the salmon was not cooked all the way through and was raw and inedible. Very upsetting.
