On a chilly Sunday afternoon, a pie from Columbia's newest pizza joint seemed like a winner - especially since the wife and I were already at the mall. The vibe is what I would call modern-retro and seating is plentiful at the bar and tables. We opted for the mozz sticks and a pie.The sticks were legit. The kind that are a bit more square than round. The pie is one size and feeds two people if you'll have 3 slices each - which is possible because the dough is thin. We had a half pepperoni & sausage and half peppers & onion. The meats were spicier than expected which was great for me! While we both enjoyed our slices, it lacked the "must come back appeal."Service was attentive and amazing! If near or at the Columbia Mall and hankering for some za, definitely hit them up.

Sunday Gravy HeroIt had a Chicago vibe to it. Good amount of sauce, flavors were well blended. The bread was a bit hard. The fresh basil was a nice touch. The sausage was the star, excellent texture and flavor. The beef was a little tough in some bites. The half I had eaten before the incident was good. Mozzarella SticksNo cheese pull as they were served a bit luke warm making the cheese solid on the inside. ServiceFriendly bartender working the lunch shift. I informed the manager of the incident as I placed a glass over top of it to show him. They comped the meal and said they would take the appropriate measures to correct what crawled up next to me while I was eating. I thanked him and left, while they offered to box it up, I respectfully declined. Also note that they share the kitchen space with Chicken+Whiskey. I hope they get it corrected soon, as the place has good potential. While it didn't feed my soul, maybe it feeds yours?

Was interested in a good NY style slice. Got two large pizzas to go since nothing else at the mall caught my eye. It was a 40 minute drive home and the pizza still tasted good. I got the three meat and a specialty with the banana peppers and sausage. Admittedly, the peppers was not popular with my family, but as a pepper, pickle, and sour foods lover, I appreciated the combination. While I did not get to dine in, their dining area looked really cool. All employees that I encountered were super friendly and helpful in guiding me to the back where the kitchen window was for pickup. Also interesting note is that the next door restaurant is connected on the inside.

I don't know why I keep trying this place. Terribly inconsistent. Took nearly 40 minutes for our simple cheese pizza while another table adjacent to us received their pie faster than ours after ordering ten minutes behind. No carriage on the pie. Cheese not fully melted. And it was empty .. no excuse to deliver this sad pizza.

Bennie's is an excellent example of a traditional NY Pizza joint that has been (successfully) upscaled to the next level. First of all, the pizza is excellent. That has been kept in its original form, as it should be. There are also salads and sandwiches which I look forward to trying in future visits. There is an extensive drink menu that is worth taking a look atThe staff is very friendly and efficient. I never felt ignored. So pizza fans, definitely put Bennie's on your list. For those of you interested in restaurant design, this should be on your list. The place appears more upscale then a Famous Rays, but without being snobby. Everything is wood, but a rough cut is used, and some of the walls have an unfinished look. But don't be fooled; it is clear that a lot of effort went into the concept and it has really paid off. Bennie's is definitely worth a visit. There is a lunch special that runs mon-fri that gives you 2 slices and a soda for 9 dollars, with is a steal considering the food and the atmosphere. Come on, try it. You know you want to.

It is a mall location but it's not inside the mall. It's in the strip of restaurants and is in the area between PF Chang's and the movie theater. The ambiance is cool. There's a walk up bar, there's a lot of interior decor, the music is energetic and fun, and the vibe is cool.I ordered two desserts to go: cannoli and tiramisu. The cannoli was piped with the ricotta onsite and the tiramisu was premade and didn't taste as fresh. The cannoli was small and didn't feel that the taste was worth the price. The guy at the to-go counter was super friendly and smiled a lot!

My girlfriend & I finally tried Bennie's Pizza in Columbia on Wednesday, November 20 before seeing WICKED for an early access screening! Unfortunately, I guess I was hungry and didn't end up taking a picture of Bennie's. The reviews were a little underwhelming for Bennie's & was a bit skeptical. This is connected to Frisco's chicken; same ownership, another great place, which I'll eventually get around to writing a probable 4-star review. It's a quaint place with a vibrant feel, a bar, & a couple of arcade games. I asked questions of the server and was impressed with his knowledge & friendliness. Server was prompt with water refills & in general. We got mushrooms on all, half chicken/half 100% Beef meatballs; I asked if there was any pork in the meatballs, which was a no. I enjoyed the meatball side the best but the chicken was solid too. My g/f enjoyed the chicken a bit more. So, I ate more of the meatball side. The pizza came out in just under 20 minutes too; so we were in & out with a bit of time to spare before the movie. Price was reasonable; I think about $32 after tax/tip for 2 people, for what I would say is maybe the best pizza in Columbia (could be Royal Pizza on Snowden River), but it's a close call. I will return here in the future. 5-star Pizza, 5-star Wicked movie, 5-star Girlfriend!

Bennie's Pizza, located in Columbia near the mall shared with Chicken + Whiskey, offers a solid pizza experience. On my first visit, I tried the Pizza Bianca, topped with mozzarella, fontina, Parmesan, and a creamy garlic base for $20. The dough was thin yet hearty, and the flavors were absolutely delicious. On my second visit, I opted for pizza by the slice and chose the sausage and peppers for $4.50. Sitting at the bar, I enjoyed the laid-back vibe. They also have a small selection of beers on tap and an impressive array of whiskey, making it a great spot to relax with a drink. Bennie's is definitely worth it!! Try checking this place out for both full pizzas and quick slices.

I've wanted to try Bennie's and just haven't made it until this visit! They were set up at the mall with several other of the restaurants and we got to try the pizza. It definitely impressed me and we grabbed a whole pie to go. The location is in the bar area of Chicken and Whiskey. I already loved Chicken and Whiskey so this was definitely an upgrade to add pizza and more menu items. The bar is super nice with great drinks. If you are looking for pizza definitely give them a try. I was also interested in their subs and wings!
