Benjamin's Store

Walking through the door was like stepping back in time. It reminded me of when I was young and corner stores were everywhere. Same with the hoagie, it reminded me of a corner store hoagie, which I love. Ordered the large Italian which came out in just a few minutes and I was not disappointed. This is my new stop when I'm in the area. I really enjoyed it.

The service was friendly and prompt. The Italian sub was delicious. Plenty of meat, very flavorful and nice crusty roll. I'll definitely be back.

Benjamin's Grocery is an interesting animal. It is a small country store in a world where small country stores have gone by the wayside. As such, it may come off a little quaint to the city folk. It's a combination of a convenience store, a light grocer (vegetables, milk, processed meat), liquor store, souvenir shop, and bait store all rolled into one. They've got a cluttered little store with bread and snacks, a surprisingly full selection of alcohols, milk from Maplehofe in Quarryville, PA, and meat products from Galvinell in Conowingo, MD. There is also Maryland, Orioles, Ravens, and Steelers merchandise, an ice cream chest, a bait cooler, and the typical convenience store items like cigarettes and lotto tickets. It looks like they have a little coffee in the morning, too, but I've never been there earlier than noon. Is it the newest, shiniest place to get your basics? Nah. Is it somewhere you can do your regular grocery shopping? Nope. But is it somewhere you can get some nightcrawlers and a MD mug before doing a bit of fishing above the Conowingo? Sure.

Benjamin's store is a great little store with a good selection of products. They have a little bit of everything and a great deli also. Everyone that works there is friendly and courteous.

Friendly community deli and store. Sandwiches are fresh and prepared quickly. Also have fresh local meats, baked goods, and candies as well as package goods. I love local community places like this one.

Ordered subs and a friend picked them up on the way over. We realized a sub was missing. I called and the lady said no problem just give me a few minutes to make it for you. Go to pick it up and the lady was rude, dismissive and condescending. Will never order from there again.
