Avery's Maryland Grill

The food was excellent, portions were good. Big cans of Old Bay seasoning on the table. The service was excellent ( Thanks Barbie!) and food was was delivered quickly.

Went with my extended family for our annual all-you-cab-eat crab (AYCE) extravaganza. First time trying Avery's (at least in this incarnation; went to it under several names/several owners in the past). Did not disappoint!The good: (1) Unlike other AYCE places in town, Avery's takes reservations for groups - a very big deal when trying to coordinate the 13 folks in our group. (2) AYCE options and prices were very much in line with competitors. (3) Crabs were large, hot, and fat. Seasoning was good (I do not think it was Old Bay, which is OK by me) and "sufficient", allowing for the crab taste to shine through. (4) Extra spice and melted butter (for the Phillistines who requested it) was available on request. (5) Sides (soup, hushpuppies, coleslaw) were OK. The bad:(1). Nada. None. Zilch We all had a great time, leaving with full bellies and great memories. Even the kiddies, who enjoyed their crabs as much as the oldsters. The pack will be back next year!

Got a take out order of half bushel for a Friday evening. I called ahead for it to be picked up in about 40 minutes. Order was ready when I got there. Packaged in thick black bag and then in a cardboard box. MP was $200. Came to 43 crabs. Very well seasoned. The weak of heart might even say too salty. There were a few light ones but overall very pleasantly surprised with the sizes. Good to know this place exists and will definitely be a nice alternative to driving to Baltimore or Annapolis.Of note, half of the family did not think they were as sweet as Chesapeake blue crabs. Their page doesn't specifically say where they source their crabs so it's possible. I haven't had blue crabs in a while so I couldn't personally tell the difference.

Food was amazing. You get so much food. The food was very fresh and hot. Mashed potatoes and mac and cheese are homemade. Great atmosphere for couples or families. The service was great. Server came around for drinks and checking on us.

During a trip to Maryland, I wanted to have some fresh seafood, especially crab. Avery's came highly recommended and I can see why. Warning, everyone else knows about this place so a reservation is recommended. We did not have one, so we waited a bit at the bar and were eventually seated outside. It was actually quite fun and pleasant with the fans blowing. We had a tutorial from our server on how to eat the snow crabs as well as from another diner who could not watch me butcher my crab any longer Everything was fresh and delicious and served shortly after ordering. Love that! I add to the recommendation for sure!

A local favorite. For obvious reasons.Being born & raised in Maryland, there are lots of crab options. But my family sticks to the tried & true Avery's. Being a big family, we always opt for a carry out options so I can't speak to the ambiance inside. However, ordering over the phone is always a seamless process, as long as it's early enough in the day. When picking up, they are friendly and timely. Obviously busy, but still kind to to-go orders, and they provide brown paper as well! Pricing is fair, and at market. Crabs are hot, well seasoned, tasty, and fresh. Last time we also ordered the hush puppies, which were delicious, gone in minutes.Well be back & I highly recommend if you're looking for your crab fix.

This place is super popular for good reason. We went at 4pm on a Saturday and the parking lot was full, but we were able to get in without a wait. By the time we left, it was a decent wait. I think you need a reservation any later than 5. We ordered two huge platters to split between 3 of us and wow, hit the spot. The crabs are medium, so they are a little small, but flavor was good. I was super pleasantly surprised by everything else. Ribs, shrimp, asparagus, corn on the cob, potatoes were all really good. The wings were a little over salted but perfect crisp. We had some cold beers to complete our reasonably priced feast.

Avery's Crab House never disappoints! The crabs are always a good size and packed with meat. I always go for the all-you-can-eat option, which comes with a variety of appetizers to choose from--so many great choices! To top it off, their sangria is my go-to drink and the perfect way to wash everything down. It's a must-visit for crab lovers!

Omg bucketlist restaurant finally checked off! Saw Mikey Chen's YouTube video featuring this place and when I was visiting I knew I had to come.Got the dozen blue crabs and have no regrets. It was two of us sharing and we only could finish 6 of them lol. The mallet is awesome for cracking through the shells quickly and fun to use to take out your stress too. Crab meat was so tender and they come out steaming hot! I personally got the vinegar cups to dip em in but you can get butter or whatever you want! They're seasoned so they don't even need much sauce.Sweetest servers too. Checked in all the time and refilled our waters. Definitely great casual fun vibes in there; just don't be afraid to get your hands dirty!

I just wanna say that this is our favorite place to go. I can not think of one negative thing about this place. The food exceptional The staff exceptional The service exceptional The owner beyond exceptional The only downfall will be that this place is not closer to my home! Well maybe that's not a bad thing because it would be my addiction. Run don't walk and see for yourself.
