While their food is not terrible, their Customer service is. Twice the food has been delivered to the lobby without any call/text/notice. I simply wait for an hour and half begins checking the lobby and finding lukewarm food. Then when I specifically asked for no beans on my burritos, they arrived smothered in beans. I called to complain and I was first told I did not request to have no beans (when I absolutely did), then I was told to go through the delivery app because they weren't going to do anything to help me. No thanks, there's way too many options to deal with people who have attitudes like that.

Mexican, Salvadoran and Colombian dishes with lots of seafood options. The Shrimp al ajillo was delicious with fried green plantains. They have a decent selection of US and imported of bottled and on-tap beers.Sitting outside on the patio on a sunny Memorial Day with Latin dance music blaring, I feel like I'm in Central America.

I happened to be one of the friends mentioned in a review of Amy's on 8/20/2019 by Guy R. I was so impressed by the food and service that I went to Yelp to write a review, and then noticed that my friend had beat me to it. Anyway, I don't know how much I can add to what my friend said, but I will now consider Amy Tex Mex my 'go-to' place when I need that fajita fix. The place may not look high-end, but the food is the best. Very clean, and our waitress did a great job (I think her name was Francis - thank you again). I must say that the prices are a bargain. A lot of very very good food at a very reasonable price. I am waiting for my friend to get hungry again so we can go back SOON!!!!

What a quaint place. We came for lunch. It is truly a hole in the wall but clean inside. The waitress was sweet and polite. The food was incredible! Got papusa and also tacos. My husband got the fajitas and my son the chicken salad. Good portions and very tasty. I wouldn't suggest the soda...it was a bit flat.

First time here, went with 2 friends. We ordered 2 appetizers and 3 dinners. Way too much food! We probably ate about 1/4 of the food, and took the rest home; without exaggeration, required 5 take-home containers.Volume is nothing without quality, and Amy has that too! Food was amazingly delicious, every dish we had. I probably should qualify that I've got the common American predisposition towards Tex-Mex, as opposed to authentic Mexican (Salvadoran, Guatemalan, Honduran, etc.) We went to Tacos Tortas & Tequila awhile ago, and judging from the plentiful Hispanic clientele, TT&T does the native cuisine to perfection. I appreciated it, but it was not as much to my liking as Tex-Mex. So, Amy's Tex-Mex is my new go-to place for Tex-Mex.We went at 6 pm on a rainy Tuesday, and had the entire place to ourselves. Restaurant is very clean, and the waitress adjusted the music down for us to maintain a comfortable conversation. We were all very enthusiastic about Amy's, and all vowed to return.

Went here today for happy hour with a group of coworkers, based on the recommendation of one the coworkers. It's a small space, but has a full bar and a pool table. The margaritas were very tasty, chips were good and the salsa was yummy. We also tried the ceviche which was also fresh and delicious. I'd definitely be back to try the rest of their food, as I was told it was great!

I want to love this place: it's a few blocks from my home with outside picnic tables so I can take my dog; the menu and vibe bring back fond memories of traveling in Central America; the margaritas are pricey but large, delicious and strong! However we tried it recently and there were some things that left a bad after taste. I ordered Bandeja Paisa, a traditional Honduran meal that the menu described as sausage, beef, rice, egg, arepa and avocado. It arrived without the arepa nor the avocado and when I pointed it out to the server I was offered the unhelpful response that they replaced the arepa with a tortilla--huh? Ok fine, the portions were hearty and delicious. We asked for waters and received water in plastic bottles without being asked if we preferred tap or bottled; tap water in Silver Spring is a usually a safe option. We assumed maybe they were having issues with tap water??? When our bill arrived we were charged $2.50 each for the waters and $1 extra to each meal. When I asked about this I was told they are in the process of updating their menu prices. I want to suggest they add stickers, advising of the price changes, to the front of the few (10-20) menus they need in circulation. After the margarita wore off we decided due to these small but annoying issues it will be a while before we try Amy's again.
