I was freaking starving after an early start to my day this past Wednesday, and love trying new places, so we decided to give America's Best Wings a try. Normally when we get wings we go to Soprano's on Holabird because they have such a endless selection of sauces and flavors, and the wings are pretty meaty. The wings I got at ABW may have surpassed the quality and deliciousness of Soprano's. That was a pleasant surprise considering WingStop was such a letdown when we tried them about a year ago.I got the ten piece Thai Chili wings. They are sticky, sweet perfection with little flecks of peppers. I couldn't finish them all, so I had a couple the next day, and was delighted to find that they reheated well in the microwave. Sometimes wings get stringy and pieces of meat get caught between my teeth, which can get painful. Sometimes it's better to just eat them cold the next day. But these wings were really good after about a minute and a half in the microwave.My boyfriend asked for "Classic Buffalo" and the guy taking his order didn't understand and directed him to the list of flavors on a board on the wall. "Mild" is the correct way to order, apparently. He also ordered a cheeseburger, without lettuce, as he always does. And while he was presented with the food, to make sure it was correct, or all there, the burger was in a box AND fully wrapped. Upon opening the food when we got home, he quickly announced that we would not be going back to America's Best Wings because there was indeed lettuce on his burger. It's shredded lettuce, so he wouldn't pick it off, because the flavor permeates the bread, etc. This happens all the time. You would think he would learn to check his food before coming home. So the burger still sits in our refrigerator because I haven't had a chance to eat it yet. I'm excited about it. It looks good to me.I do hope that my boyfriend changes his mind because I would really like to return to this location and try some of their other wings. Would recommend.
