I picked up food from Ajumma for a quick dinner. I ordered the Squid Bulgogi and my friend ordered the Honey Seoul Chicken. Both of which exceeded my expectations. We ordered our food to go, and the service was fast. We waited less than 10 minutes after ordering! The Honey Seoul Chicken was my favorite but slightly different than expected. It has small pieces of breaded chicken that were fried and then tossed in a sweet sauce.

Drove the 30mi south into Baltimore in search of my latest Korean food obsession: YukGaeJong. (Spicy beef noodle soup)The weather is cold and soup has hit the spotOn the corner, if you pull along side you'll think the bldg is for rent. The front view, the little open sign lets you know something is goin on inside, and the little tent above, w the name Ajumjee lets you know you've found it Street parking at .50/hr, on a Sunday there were plenty of places to park. There are basic tables and chairs for eating in; nothing overly inviting and in a cold day, no heat. Hoping my 1st encounter with this hit and spicy soup (also in a cold location) would be duplicated here. It was notThe soup wasn't bad. It was just ok. Not as spicy as the first place I tried it, and seemingly with ingredients. Not a bad thing, just different About the same amount...enough to eat my full there, and to take home for laterA few people came in and out -to go orders. And a foursome of young guys also sat and ate in. A friend suggested it might not be "as authentic" as it could be, specifically referencing the lack of a certain pepper that was likely the source of the spiciness in the soup from the locale in VaI'm giving the place a 2. Basic, cold/no heat (not very inviting), and the soup was just "ok"If I were in the area again, I might try something else...but def won't be driving 30mi out the way again

First the good: it was a good lunch Plenty of food, packed up nicely, and the rice was very good. Loved the aloe juice. Lots of space! And I got the one power outlet. And no one said a word when I took an hourlong meeting while plugged in. The bad: lunch special wasn't special. Restaurant was worn. And the bathroom. was, well, left a photo. Still, the veggies were great.

I came inspired by a challenge my dear friend and I created to take ourselves out to eat by ourselves. The ambiance was homely and the pricing of the menu is quite nice. Compared to the number of years this restaurant has been open I was quite surprised by how worn down the chairs and tables were - which I think emphasizes the amount of people that come here since I do remember them being a better quality only a few months ago (before I began reviewing in Yelp). I've eaten their bibimbap before and the manduguk this time both on cold evenings, and they are incredibly warm and filling. The manduguk could have been less greasy on the soup, but I liked the Mandus they've used - they're chewy and light. I like the variety of vegetables they've added: bell peppers, carrots, onions, etc. I wish there were more vegetables as a veggie girl. I appreciated how the egg was made. At hind sight, the soup looks a bit disheveled - they don't put much into appearance of the food but it was pretty good for what it's worth. Compared to the homemade manduguk I eat, I feel this is slightly more fast food oriented given the larger, majority immediate college population they have to serve. But, I'm excited to come back to try the other dishes.

This place looks like a go to spot to get quick Korean food. I got the dumpling soup and my fiancé got the beef bulgogi and rice. He enjoyed his meal, but my meal was "okay." The soup had a lot of flavor, a bit salty. My main complaint is that I could tell the dumplings were store bought, not homemade. Lots of seating and the inside was clean. Quiet and chill atmosphere (here on a Sunday evening).I'll return to try their other items since the beef bulgogi was good and update my review accordingly.

I stopped by here for dinner on a Thursday night. Place was pretty empty, but I've been curious about this place for a while. I ordered the spicy chicken bulgogi, and to say the least, I wasn't impressed. Because I ordered it spicy, there was definitely some added taste in there, but somehow there was no sense of flavor in it. I could taste the spice in my mouth, but it felt so repetitive/bland it felt like a chore to eat the entire order. The prices were very cheap and affordable at least, and the inside of the place looked clean and calming. The service was simply alright, though I perceived the cashier seemed very annoyed to take my order. Overall, I rate the place as being pretty average, and I likely wouldn't go there again just because of how much farther it is from me compared to other, better restaurants.

Ajumma was recently temporarily shut down by the health department, which lowers my review from 3 to 2 stars. Ajumma is your best bet for counter service quick Asian-American food near JHU. It's overpriced, but scratches the itch for beef bulgogi. Asking for a fried egg on top of your food is definitely the move here. The service has always been prompt and friendly, and food comes out quickly.

Their beef and chicken bulgogi platters are always delicious. Place has a nice charm if you sit inside for a quick bite as well.

They provided catering size trays of food for a birthday party. Bibimpap, noodles and mandu. The kids and adults loved it. They packaged it so that vegans, vegetarians and carnivores could serve themselves for a healthy and filling party meal. Thanks, Ajumma!
