My new go to for Ethiopian food in the Columbia/Ellicott city area! Takeout via Grubhub on a Saturday night was smooth sailing. I ordered the Veggie Combo #2, which came with a wide variety of dishes and ample injera. Fresh, flavorful, with just the right touch of spice.

My friend and I ordered takeout here the other day. The place was small but there were indoor seating options. The cashier was pleasant. This was my first time trying an Ethiopian dish. I really enjoyed it. I got the veggie combo #2 and my friend got the lamb tibs fir fir. She said hers was extremely spicy and there was injera mixed with the meat in addition to the injera it was wrapped in. I wished mine was spicier and I requested that when I made the order via phone but was told that vegetarian options wouldn't be spicy. I would definitely try Ethiopian food again and I love that they gave so much for a reasonable price.

The food is consistently good. It's always ready when I arrive. I've never eaten there but even when I've been too lazy to pick up my food, the delivered items taste the same.

The food at Ahadu Ethiopian was wonderful! Some of the best Ethiopian I've had. When I arrived, the boy at the register was friendly and gave my friend good recommendations for the sides to our Meat #3 platter. It was a quiet atmosphere inside. We got our meat, red lentils, tomato salad, chickpea salad, and collard greens. For 2 people the meal was very filling. Everything was so delicious and flavorful as well!I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area!

I love coming here, I know the food will never disappoint! I always get their lunch special which is more than enough for me for only $13. They're super nice and food is always ready within 20 minutes. It's super clean in there and smells good. Support this local business in Burtonsville, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Amazing food - flavors and fresh. Best Ethiopian in the DMV! Much better to eat in house because you get more injera.

I would categorize this more as a cafe than your usual sit-down restaurant since service is limited: you order at the counter and they bring out the food to you when it's ready - nothing in between.I came here on a Friday evening for dinner. I was worried that parking would be difficult during the prime dinner hour, but there were plenty of pull-in spots available in front of the restaurant at 6pm.When researching the restaurant in advance, Google offered an option to make a reservation on my behalf using their smart assistant. I selected the reservation online and received a text confirmation that it had been made. The reservation really wasn't necessary at all - it's already a small space but only 1-2 tables were filled; the rest were open. (Maybe the fact that we also met up on the coldest, windiest day of the year was also a factor... but reminder: support your local businesses!) Nevertheless, the restaurant honored my reservation and had the table settings and "reserved" placard already set-up when we arrived. We were greeted by the staff, handed menus, and told to order at the register whenever we were ready.I appreciate that the menu had a plethora of pictures to clue you into the popular dishes for those that aren't experts with Ethiopian cuisine. Their website also does an excellent job of educating potential customers on the different dishes - kudos to them for making it more approachable. My friend and I decided to share the veggie combo #2 (Red lentils, cabbage and potatoes, split pea, collard greens, string beans, carrots, tomato salad, chick pea salad, and lentil salad) for two ($28.50). The food was brought out about 10-15 minutes after ordering. It came with double servings of everything and we each got our own basket of injera (four pieces). Portions were fair for the price. We enjoyed the meal overall since Ethiopian food is always a treat, but it could've been more flavorful in my opinion. Fortunately, nothing was overwhelmingly spicy, which is a plus in my book! I would come back to try some of their meat dishes.

*Updated ReviewGlad I decided to give this place another chance. I visited once before and wasn't impressed. This time around, it was a better experience. Did a takeout order. It was ready within 30 minutes as promised. The food was flavorful and tasty. I wish they were more generous with the injera. I paid for extra. I would perhaps try dining in on another visit. In my opinion, dining is the best way to enjoy this type of cuisine.

Food here was really flavorful and I liked that they had more variety than most. We ordered the veggie entree large, SpicyTalapia Tibs and two coffees. The coffees were made fresh and took awhile to come. The smell was great and the coffee tasted good. The entrees came in shortly after. Substituted beets for one of my veggie dishes. Best veggie dishes were the beets and collard greens. The other dishes were good but these two stood out. The talapia was very flavorful. Most Ethiopian restaurants do not do fish that well. This was an exception. They would bring extra injerra to the table if you ask, This is not really a restaurant but a cafe. You pretty much order and serve yourself. They will bring the order to you when it is ready. I only saw Ethiopians coming into the restaurant so that is a good sign. They also have Ethiopian bowls but have not tried those.

Forget trekking into downtown Silver Spring for Ethiopian food. This is the place to go. As a restaurant, they are bare basic. There's about 8-10 tables you can sit at and I've never seen it crowded. I'm a bit torn there because on the one hand, I love coming in and just grabbing a seat, but on the other hand, it makes me feel like they should be more busy, especially on the weekend considering how good it is.As i said, the atmosphere in the restaurant is basic. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you.The food. Anytime i get a craving for Ethiopian food, I come here. You can't beat the price/food quality combination here. For 20 bucks, I get my favorite Kitfo with two sides. Once in a while, I will get other combos, but the Kitfo is my go to. This can get spicy, so I ask for it mild, and even that, has a bit of a kick for me. Next time I'm here, I will grab pictures. I rarely give 5 stars and this place deserves it. Despite their bare basic motif, their food and prices more than make up for that.
