My jaw HURTS. Paper thin undercrust, very little cheese, very little sauce, super dry, and extremely tough to eat. 3/13/24

About 5 months ago, I discovered this place and fell in love. I thought to myself, wow Dave Portnoy should check this place out.Juicy, flavorful, pizza with the perfect amount of crunch on the bottom. But then 6 weeks ago, I naturally tried it again and was shocked at how bad my pizza was. The undercrust was paper thin, there was barely any sauce, barely any cheese. Costco has better pizza at 1.99 a slice.I called the restaurant to let the manager know, since I figured they had just made a mistake. The manager wasn't in, so I spoke to hostess. I told her that I didn't need anything, I just wanted to let her know that they should double check the pizzas going out tonight. The hostess said that Ballard Pizza Company is "experimenting with their recipe" and she'd pass the feedback along. I'm not sure why they'd need to change their recipe when their previous pies were incredible. I let her know this and we ended the call cordially.Fast forward to last night, I ordered from them again, and I have to say, it may be the last time...What a rollercoaster to go from the best, to some of the worst pizza I've had, and in only 5 months.Last night's pizza (pictured) was dry, had very little cheese, very little sauce, paper thin undercrust, and worst of all, it HURT TO EAT. My jaw became ridiculously sore after one piece; the pizza was extremely tough to eat.I'm not sure what's going on at Ballard Pizza Company but they are serving poorly made pizza on top of (grandfathered) terrific flavor profiles. I glanced at recent reviews and it looks like I'm not alone. Something is going on, only as of recently over there.I tried offering feedback without posting online but they clearly aren't taking customer advice.I hope someone that runs the restaurant sees this and decides to make a change back to their previous method.

Pros: very good dough and friendly staffCons: Big Moses of the day (2/11/24) was disappointing. It's doesn't justify the cost of the pizza. I wish I picked my own pizza. They did not keep their promises in my opinion but it's just my opinion.Note to self, never get Big Moses again.

Got this on a cold afternoon while visiting Seattle and while it was very good it was also very heavy. Not sure what happened but we both left with slight stomach aches. The pizza is really really good ; I loved the crust and the cheese was perfect. It was tasty I had to stop myself from finishing the entire thing. Definitely a great za spot , the little Pac-Man game at the tables is an awesome plus.

This place has lost their way. What was once one of the greatest pies in Seattle has been corrupted with what feels like cheaper ingredients. The cheese is the main problem, it has a more rubbery and flavorless presence than before. And the sauce is very forgettable. I think the only highlight is the crust, still a decent example of a NY crust. You are best served trying somewhere else like Delancey, Lupo, or Dantini (the current pizza champ).

Was in the mood for pizza after Sunday's Ballard farmer's market. Found this place close by. It was a quite casual pizza place. They have an extensive menu and are quite vegetarian-friendly. We got the veggie bomb pizza, by default they are thin crust. The pizza was delicious and the staff here were great as well. I'd recommend this place.

I went here near the tail end of happy hour with a friend to get some appetizers and pizza. This place is a fast casual place, where you order at the counter and get a number to place on a table, and then the server will deliver the food for you. Once you are done, you bus your own table. This makes for a more casual meal dine-in, and alternatively an excellent choice for takeout.Happy hour only covers a few items and a few dollars discount for alcohol, so you don't really miss out if you cannot make it during those times (4-6pm). However, I was planning on getting the caesar salad and dynamite wings anyways, both of which are in the happy hour menu, which overall saved me $10+ on the bill. For pizza, we got the large ($32) which we are allowed to do half and half, so we opted for the Big Moses and Carbonara. That was more than enough, and 2 of us could barely finish a little bit more than half of the pizza. The Caesar salad is solid, nothing out of the ordinary, but great value. The dynamite wings had a very slight kick, expecting it to be a bit spicier but probably intended not to be to cater to a wider population. They are served with celery, with choice of ranch or blue cheese dressing. The Big Moses explicitly did not say any ingredients, but for that day, it had BBQ sauce, prosciutto, jalapeños, and red onions, which kind of works(?) but the flavors did not really mesh as well as I wished. The Carbonara is very solid - the eggs and garlic and cheese made it very hearty and delicious, so I would recommend that as a possible pizza order. I also got a "bottled" Manhattan - they make their cocktails in house but if you dine-in, you don't see the bottle. They bottle it for those that wish to enjoy their cocktails to-go. For dine-in, they will pour the cocktail into a cup, iced, with a cherry. The cherry is extremely bitter so it is not the sweet cherry you usually encounter that is part of the Manhattan. Overall, this place is a decent pizza spot. I would not really go out of my way to visit as there are a lot of good restaurants in that region of Ballard, but I would not rule it out either. My biggest incentive (and for some people too) was that this place uses InKind so I was able to use up some of their credits to redeem a meal here.

what a bummer, I had such high hopes. the pizza had some circumference but lacked the promised flavors and toppings and was also way too charred and tough! It was supposed to have Italian Sausage, Fennel, Fennel Pollen and Red Onions....there were super tiny thin onion shards on the whole thing, the sausage was not present except for the tiniest of crumbs here and there, you couldn't see it with your eyes unless you looked very close. If there was fennel and fennel pollen, it must have disappeared into the sauce...oh but wait, there was barely any of that either, super dry! The cheese was barely discernible. Okay, a pizza of this calibre I would be okay with if it were $15, yes even in this current economy, IF NOT BURNT, but it was a whopping $38 which included a "take out charge" and taxes. Crazy! There's no way I'd go here again. I'd rather get a whole pizza made at Whole Foods for $12-$15 if I'm getting take out. If this place is 4 stars, I suspect some changes have occurred recently, and NOT for the better....Pizza bought tonight 3/1/2024 at about 7pm....

Food - good pizza! The price seems quite high for what you get but it was tasty and fresh. They have a few veggie presets and there's a BYO options. Service - the staff was helpful and polite. You walk up to order and bus your own table but they had helpful recommendations. They also have boxes!Ambiance - it's a chill vibe where you can sit inside or outside and relax. I believe the patio is dog friendly too!

Really good pizza and the focaccia was amazing! Luckily they allow you to do half plain half gourmet. There was two of us and the medium size pizza was perfect!

Happy Hour Everyday from 4-6. Caesar Salad 3/5 HH $10, comes tossed with sprinkling of cheese and a heavy helping of croutons. The lettuce wasn't the most fresh, I could see the red discoloration on the leaves but still crunchy. Not too heavy on the sauce and you can definitely have a piece of crouton with every bite and you might still be left with some croutons. It was a refreshing start of the meal.Medium Ballard Bridge - Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Olives. 3/5I enjoyed the crust the most, it was crispy, thin and not too thick or bready. Pizza is probably closer to thin crust but it doesn't have the same snap and can be easily folded if thats preferred method. On the table is shakers of cheese and pepper flakes, adds extra spice. The olives were the main flavor note which I didn't find the most appetizing, wished the other ingredients got a chance to shine out as well.Overall I would come back to try something new around Happy Hour if a friend wanted to check it out.
