When we go away on vacation we like to find locations that have some kind of "tiki theming" and tiki mugs because I collect them. Bali Hai did not disappoint. Our server was wonderful, very friendly and knowledgeable, and her recommendations were on point. The food was delicious and the drinks strong and the view of the bay couldn't have been any more perfect. And I took home some mugs so it was a win.

Been coming here for years. A few friends told us that we can order the buffet or items from the menu. Wrong. On Sundays it is only buffet for $68pp. A bit pricey when you know you cannot consume that much food. Since we were seated with no other reservation on a Sunday afternoon we decided to stay and dine. We noticed the party next to us got up to leave. Bali Hai should do better in letting your customers know that the buffet is the only option before you seat them. Make it clear on your website Menu too. Our server seated us and let us know about their drink selections then walked away. We noticed only a bar menu and no QR code. We flagged our server and then was told only buffet was available. Buffet had a decent selection but didn't have any bread (bagels, toast, rolls, croissants) options only sweet pastries. Normally I see Lox and all the fixings at a buffet but disappointed to see none. I tried to get my money's worth and avoided items I can easily cook myself and loaded up on the seafood and meats. I won't say I wouldn't have the buffet again but I would come more prepared knowing it was the only option and informing everyone in my party.

First off, great accommodations from the check-in desk and our server was amazing. The ambiance felt retro 70s tiki style dining -- nice, but dated. We ordered:The Coconut Shrimp (10/10!) the Korean Fried Chicken dish (Panda Express vibez) and the customize your own fried rice (excellent! We chose kimchi and spam)the prices are pretty steep but the portions are not reflective of that. also there is a junk fee added to the bill, a whooping 5%.I wouldn't necessarily recommend this restaurant unless you're just going for appetizers, cocktails, and the view.

Service and ambiance great. Bartender Nick was super great!! Ordered these spinach, cream cheese lumpia's , they were good but cold. Soon as we ordered them they came to us like In seconds! As if they were made for another customer, they were cold. We waited an hour for our reservation so my husband & I was very hungry so we ate them cold. Drinks was great, SeaBass excellent, I ordered cashew shrimp with out cashew! It was good just had to still pick cashews out! Very intimate setting , great for date night.

Food: 4/5Service: 4/5 Price: 4/5Ambiance: 4/5We came at brunch (party of 3). Our server was Alejandro, and he was really great. He offered solid drink and food recommendations. The prices are expected. The theming of the restaurant isn't over the top tiki, but the views are unbeatable. Absolutely gorgeous. This was a great early lunch, and we will be back in the future.

We've wanted to come here for years! Finally did it this trip. Views are to die for! The food is amazing as well. Prices aren't horrible for the views you get at all!Don't get the Mai Tai though! I love them but theirs is literally a cup of Rum. No returns. I appreciate a strong drink but I could barely choke it down.

I'm surprised I've never written a review on this place as many times as I've been here. My bestie took me there for my birthday in November and it was awesome. The view the food the ambience and even the cake for my birthday was amazing. I make such a big deal on my birthday or any birthday because I grew up in a house that restricted celebrating of birthdays for religious reasons. So now birthdays are so so so big to me! My friend Lisa takes us and our friends boating and we do Sunday Brunch here often.I'm sorry it took so long to write this but you guys are amazing and I suggest you often to newcomers to San Diego.

Been here about 5 times. I love the food & of course the ambiance is amazing! Every time I've come the food takes an hour :(. This past time we ordered drinks, which took 30 minutes and they didn't take our order until we got the drinks, then after we ordered waited another hour for food. I'm not sure why because all the tables around us were getting their food. One table arrived after and finished their food before too. There were only 5 of us so it wasn't a huge party, but I have also come with just my husband and the food took just as long. Good drinks and food.

Cocktails and appetizers celebrating with friends. Ordered the ali'i for tasting for two; Plate winners: coconut shrimp, crunchy and tasty; beef skewers, soft quality beef; and ahi poke, delicious. Plate losers: Spinach Lumpia, just a fried spinach dip wrap and unappetizing ; and the riblets which had an unpleasant taste of the freezer. Service was pretty good even with a packed noisy restaurant. Decor is amazing and the view is one of the best views of downtown San Diego and the bay. cocktails are strong and tasty and the beer crisp and cold.

Came by for brunch buffet on Sunday which is available from 9:30a-2:45p for $68 and limit is 2hours.The place was really nice and it did overlook the bay. They offer the strongest Mai tai which has no juice in the mix. They aren't wrong when they say it's strong and boy it was. You are only able to order 2 max. I was barely able to finish 1. Their food selection was not too bad. For seafood they had poke, shrimp cocktail, crab legs, and oysters. They also had crab Benedict, cinnamon rolls, coconut pancakes, nuetella French toast, fried rice, short ribs, ham and prime rib. They also have an eggs omelet station. Quality was not that bad, I mean I've had better crab legs and their other buffet restaurant across the way. Our server was really nice.Overall I would rate this place a 8/10
