Stopped by after having lunch. Got the cherry blossom cake, passion fruit mousse and German chocolate cake. The cherry blossom didn't have much flavor. Like it wasn't too sweet but it wasn't sweet enough at the same time. Very moist though, maybe too wet? It's cute though. The passion fruit mousse was better. The crust at the bottom is nice. Not hard and the passion fruit flavor is good. The German chocolate cake was soooo good. My friend said it's too chocolatey but I loved it. The coconut layers was amazing and not too coconuty. Inside was cute. There are sooo many selections to choose from and surprisingly price was not bad for how big they are and being in Seattle.

A friend brought 2 cakes for our NYE party and just WOW! They were divine. I can't wait to try more from this bakery. Pistachio cassis cake was just perfection of layers. It's so unique with soft mousse and a crunchy layer. Tartness and sweetness were balanced and the textures were on point. I can't wait to order this cake for my birthday! The dream praline cake was beautiful, rich and decadent. This is a chocolate lover's dream!!! It had a nice nutty flavor. I found it too rich for me, so a small piece goes a long way.Update: I initially gave 5 stars but i have taken 2 away. Im sure there are some bakes that taste good and i picked the wrong ones. As I wrote my review for the 2 cakes, I found myself going to Seattle and actually making a pit stop to try more goodies. The disappointment is hard to express. Firstly, I want to say that the staff were nice and it's a cute bakery. Everything looked delicious. They even have cute ribbons of different colors. Carrot cake- the lady said it "is the best I've ever had." So you can imagine that the expectation was as such. It missed the mark greatly. It's soooo sweet!!! Literally no one wanted to finish the slice. The only positive comment about the carrot cake is that the layers are moist. Tiramisu - I don't think it identifies as one! Maybe it went through a transition?? There is maybe a little mascarpone? The buttercream layer on top had a hint of coffee, but mostly just sweetened butter. Again, one positive thing is the layers were moist. Macarons - They are a fancy and pricey cookie which is so worth it when done right. These were not!!!Lemon, pistachio and earl grey flavors were good.Passionfruit was ok, not much flavor but the aftertaste was tropical. Cassis- offensive!!! Raspberry - very chocolatey and the raspberry flavor was not good. I think I expect fresh raspberry flavor and this one was rich and jam like.Mint chocolate - literally my child's favorite flavor and she spat this out. Too much filling! Too minty and strong according to her. We saved the best for last, thinking vanilla is hard to mess up. I don't understand how this is possible. It was stale and rich and heavy white chocolate flavor. I don't see myself coming back.

Ordered a mocha chocolate cheesecake from here as a birthday cake. It's small but hefty. Beautifully smooth and decadent. I don't even like coffee but this was wonderful.

The food is great, service is great. I give 4 stars because I'm just so bummed that the post-Covid version of this place (like a couple other places) is without any tables to sit at inside. It's been reduced to a take-out joint. Maybe having 4-5 tables is too much of a hassle? I can always walk over to KP and sit in their relaxing courtyard, but only in good weather. I can't bring visitors here because it's not good to take a friend to a takeout joint and then walk all the way home to eat. It's just a really bummer than they haven't returned the tables - I'm sure everyone agrees. The bakery you opened was great, please bring it back!!

When it comes to baked goods, fresh bread, or sweet cravings, Bakery Nouveau will always be the answer. Every time I walk in, I'm greeted by the friendliest faces, a colorful display of macrons, cakes, and scones, all in front of a wall of baguettes and loafs. To the employee who overheard me saying how I had never had a fair scone before and gifted me the unfair scone - I thank you. Since then, I've sent so many friends in to try your treats, and have made Nouveau part of my regular grocery rotation. Thank you!

Was visiting Seattle for the weekend and I was craving some fresh pastries for breakfast. My friend had recommended Bakery Nouveau, so I decided to check it out.I was planning on only getting 1-2 pastries, but I was so intrigued by their wide selection I ended up walking out with a bunch of them. I felt a little bit rushed by the staff while I was still trying to decide what I wanted to pick, and I didn't get the friendliest vibe from them. They were pretty efficient though! - Almond Croissant -- The croissant is very flaky and has just the right amount of almond flavor. Would recommend!-Un Fair Scone -- This one didn't really hit for me; the cream in it just was a little much. -Ratatouille -- I thought this was a pretty unique sandwich and thought it was tasty!-Ham and cheese croissant -- Pretty standard, but it was good-Pear Danish -- I liked the presentation of it and thought it was good as well.Overall, Bakery Nouveau has many options and they're pretty solid; I'd recommend checking them out!

Really enjoyed the almond croissant (full of almond filling, edges crisp and slightly caramelized tasting), enjoyed the ham and cheese (have it warmed up), slightly let down by the kouign amann (dough seemed like a nice but slightly dry pastry dough and not as buttery and flaky/coated as we like; our reference point is B Patisserie in SF though and they seem to do their own thing).Service was somewhat lackluster, almost as though they were quite rushed, even though they were only a few people in the bakery. There was one super nice person, which I appreciated, but it was certainly the exception.Overall would definitely return but keeping in mind variability.

My wife and I were visiting from LA and made it point to try as many bakeries in Portland as we could. We came here to try the twice baked almond croissant which sounded and looked amazing. Unfortunately, we found the almonds paste to be too sweet. The kouign-amann though was very one of the better kouign-amann I've had, Nicely laminated and not too sweet. Definitely a must try.

Wow, what a gem! I had the turkey and havarti croissant sandwich and a salted caramel macaron. The croissant was so flaky, buttery, and soft. The turkey and havarti were clearly high quality just by the looks of it. The stone ground mustard adds a nice little zest to the sandwich. It was amazing! The salted caramel macaron was melt in your mouth soft and so delicious! One of the best macarons I've ever had. The staff is friendly, attentive, and kind! The lady that served me even gave me more ice for water when I didn't even ask. What an amazing little bakery with high quality, delicious food! My only wish is that there were places to sit and eat as it has such a cute ambiance.

I was lucky enough to have a friend bring me some almond croissants when he was visiting. I got pastries here years ago, and I had forgotten how large and flavorful they were. There's a nice crust on top and just the right amount of marzipan. Again, the croissants are huge. Definitely reheat them in the oven before consuming!
