Purely based on the food, I love this place but I'm not sure what is going on lately. My go-to is the kouign amann and the last time I was there, I thought the kouign amann tasted a little burnt (sugar). I went there over the weekend and again, it looked a little brown and again, tasted burnt. I'll try to get a picture next time. Maybe it's off when I'm there but super disappointed, on the other hand, the other pastries were no problem. Always a busy spot weekend mornings and the staff do their best to help customers individually for their orders.

At some point I was obsessed with their twice baked almond croissants! Perfectly crispy on the outside and gooey but flaky layers within. I had to stop myself from being addicted lol. I've also tried their macarons, and cake. Their sandwiches are okay, sometimes if not heated up all the way they can be a bit cold in the center. A local favorite bakery! It's a quaint location with delicious smells! And customer service is always good.

The chocolate croissant here is AMAZING. I have been looking for a good croissant in Seattle for quite a while, and after having Arsicault's croissant in SF I've definitely been setting my standards quite high. This was a spot that I became aware of recently for having one of the best pain au chocolat's, and I knew I had to give it a try when I ventured out to West Seattle. There was a line outside but it moved pretty quickly and we were inside in no time. I obviously got a chocolate croissant, which was so incredibly light that it almost felt like I was holding nothing. I was afraid it might blow away as I took pictures of it outside! The first bite was actually a little underwhelming, probably because I got the one dryer/tougher part of the whole croissant. However, as I kept eating it I realized this was seriously a good croissant. It was light, moist, flakey, and had the perfect crisp on the outside. The chocolate was a nice touch and not too overbearing either. So yummy.I am so pleased to have finally found a good spot for croissants in Seattle! Too bad this place isn't closer to me, otherwise I would definitely be here much more often :)

THE place to go for absolutely yummy French pastries, sandwiches and breads. For anyone either living in or visiting West Seattle, this place is a must visit. I first visited to get one of the most authentic French baguettes I've found in the states, but I've since become absolutely hooked on their twice baked almond croissants. I've never had anything I haven't enjoyed from this place. Please try it, you will not be disappointed!

Bakery Nouveau is the perfect neighborhood bakery. The staff here is super friendly and amazing. I told myself I'd come here everyday and try something different until I've had a chance to try all of their pastries. So far, I've tried the chocolate croissant, almond croissant, Junction croissant, chocolate eclair, and the croque monsieur. Literally everything was delicious. You have to try it for yourself. I can't wait to try more of their things. I love my neighborhood twice as much just because we are so fortunate to have Bakery Nouveau here.

Did you know that Bakery Nouveau does wedding cakes? This is their best kept secret! For our wedding, Bakery Nouveau made a beautiful tiered cake and a big chocolate sheet cake. Everything was so DELICIOUS!

This bakery was a great little find on our work trip to West Seattle. What an amazing array of pastries, sandwiches, and other goodies. They had about a dozen different flavors of macaroons. The service is great. Highly recommended.

The original Bakery Nouveau location in West Seattle began in 2006, well before I was a Yelper. My earliest recollection was waiting in a long sidewalk line and Chef Leaman was handing out warm twice baked almond croissants. I knew of chef/owner William Leaman because of his involvement with Team USA for Coupe du Monde while I was in pastry school and later working as an assistant pastry chef. I only just met him in person at a class on Vashon Island back in late July 2022. I am surprised that despite posting for the other locations in Seattle's Capitol Hill and in Burien, I have not done so for the OG site, my bad. My most recent visit was back on 11/26/22. No surprise despite after Thanksgiving, the line at the retail bakeshop was lengthy. Note: the retail bakeshop appreciates that customers continues to wear masks while in line. There are a series of amazing pastry cases and shelves filled with the most tantalizing baked goods and chocolates. The guy ahead of me with his kids had much commentary and questions, so that allowed me to carefully study the pastry cases. Thankfully, the counter was well staffed with very patient and helpful folks. It was late in the day, so no surprise there were no pain au chocolat or L'Opera cake available. I ended up buying a chocolate eclair, a slice of tiramisu cake, a slice of praline cake, a California Club croissant sandwich, and an 80% dark chocolate bar. My phone has been acting up, so no photos taken except for one of the onsite pastry case views. Other photos taken were from earlier visits back in 2018 and 2019. Also, there's only a banquette along one wall for limited seating. The chocolate eclair remains the gold standard for The Homie. I've been buying them since he was a toddler, he's in college now. He's enjoyed eclairs from many other bakeshops, but this remains his favorite. Nicely filled pate a choux and a nice chocolate glaze. Both cake slices are wrapped to prevent the sides from drying out. Of the two, I prefer the flavor profile of the praline over the tiramisu. It has a nice balance of richness, flavor, and crunch. However, I recommend definitely eating them within the day of purchase. The cake slices had been refrigerated for a few days so they weren't at its peak. I have no idea what possessed me to buy the California Club croissant. I had only purchased Turkey Havarti and the Breakfast croissant in the past. And again, I made the bad decision to bring it to work for lunch two days later. Again, this needs to be eaten on the day of purchase. By the time I had it, the greens , tomatoes, avocado slices, and bacon were soggy. The croissant itself didn't fare too well either, especially with way too much mayonnaise. The only item that held up was the turkey. Actually, it made me kind of queasy and did not sit well with me. I had to leave work earlier than intended.Pro tip: buy only what you or others will consume the same day. Only item that will hold up well is the bean to bar 80% dark chocolate crafted bar.Worth a stop while wandering The Junction's vast retail area along California Avenue in West Seattle.

Food: 5/5 best croissant/pastries I've had in SeattleCoffee: 5/5 best cold brew we've hadPrice: 4/5Service: 4/5 (only bc there's often a lot of people)BEST pastries and croissants of all bakeries I've been to in Seattle (and I've been to a lot). It's the exact right texture, flakiness, butter, and size - closest to French croissants you can get in Seattle. Great espresso drinks and some of the best cold brew we've had as well in Seattle. Runners up include L'Experience on Mercer Island (though it's a little pricey) and Baked Flours in Beacon Hill. The only downside is sometimes it's crowded (probably bc it's so good) so you might have to just go in and out. But the coffee and pastries are really second to none and we also pick up their in-house made unique preserves on occasion which are wonderful! Their Burien location is much larger with more inventory of jams, coffee, etc you can buy and space to sit down. We just don't make it out there often but it's a great location.
