We had the absolute pleasure of working with Kelly Pruner for 19 months to plan our wedding in September 2024. Kelly is an absolute superstar - she's kind, open-minded, thorough, timely, and extremely helpful. She took the time to get to know us right off the bat so she could understand the vision for our special day. She gave us tons of tips and encouraged us to explore some of our less-traditional ideas. When we had no idea what was next, Kelly was quick to assure us that all couples experience certain challenges with planning and that she'd be there to guide our next step.As queer brides, it was extremely important to us to not only find a wedding planner (and planning company) that was open to working with queer couples, but also someone who was an ally and understood the nuance of our wedding day. She consciously provided gender-neutral / appropriate documents, asked questions instead of assuming anything, and communicated with openness the whole way through.Kelly was awesome on our wedding day. Her calm nature kept us calm, and she celebrated our excitement with us too! She thought of literally everything and kept our value to have a fun and stress-free day top of mind. She interacted incredibly well with our vendors, the venue, and our friends and family.We would recommend XOXO Weddings, and more importantly, Kelly Pruner, to help any couple planning a wedding. I first met Mel when she was coordinating my cousin's wedding last summer, and my cousin wholeheartedly recommended her when I began planning my own at the beginning of this year. If Mel is available for your wedding date, SNATCH HER UP because she was the best choice we made; if we had to do it all again, Mel would still be my first call and the most important line item in our budget.If I were to write a purely bloodless review, I'd say that Mel is efficient, organized, and responsive. She whipped up a timeline for us to follow from the second we hired her, without which we would have felt overwhelmed and out of our depth -- neither of us have planned anything this big before! She also touched base with us every month to see if we were one track and to field any questions we had throughout the process, and made sure to take notes for us to reference later. Finally, the day of the wedding went off without a hitch and in large part due to Mel's coordination. From large-scale issues like last-minute venue rentals, to medium hiccups like our cake arriving before the venue opened, to even small details like one of our wedding party members needing bottled water where the venue provided lemon spa water -- Mel took care of it all promptly. Even my parents noticed how put-together she was on the day of, and complimented her to me at length.Okay now for the part where I'm super biased, because besides being professional Mel is COOL. She's funny, she's friendly, and she rocks rainbow hair (and recommended me the colorist I used for the wedding! C:). I genuinely enjoyed every minute we spent speaking with one another. She has a knack for putting people at ease, and speaking with her felt like we'd made a new friend. I think this also translates further to her skill as a coordinator, because in taking the time to get to know us she ensured that the steps we took toward the wedding were *ours* -- I think our wedding day felt so completely like a representation of both of us specifically because of the care she took in advocating for our vision.So if you want a wedding that reflects you and your spouse and that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the moment on your big day, PLEASE ask for Mel. You won't regret it for a second.

Mel and Kaci are magicians. I've worked in corporate America as a personal assistant, executive assistant, project manager, operations... and I didn't want to be one on my wedding day.If you are a bride and the most organized person in your life/friend group/family, you especially MUST hire a wedding coordinator!! Mel is so strong, people went to her and not me with issues which was such a godsend to keeping me serene on my big day.Unbeknownst to me, we booked a very high maintenance venue (with rather insane rules like "you can't provide tampons in the women's restroom for your guests because the two female children at the wedding might think they are candy and eat them...") and Mel dealt with them so well. And we provided the dang tampons.Her experience is also invaluable when choosing vendors. I went through some of the most stressful once-in-a lifetime events I've ever gone through in the year leading up to my wedding (major car accident, insane job situation, death of my father, etc) and Mel was so helpful directing me to where to point my flashlight when I was trying to make my way through the forest.XOXO was the best money spent on my wedding. I would have literally cut budget anywhere else if it came to that or having to go without Mel, truly.If you're reading this and call them and she's booked for your date I'm already sorry, but honestly seeing how high Kaci's standards are, you're in good hands with anyone at XOXO.

We had the pleasure of working with Kehau as our Day of Coordinator. But "Day of Coordinator" doesn't fully explain the extent of the work Kehau put in; even in the months leading up to our wedding, we met for multiple zoom calls each of which lasted between 1-2 hours. During these calles Kehau was very professional and helped make sure the logistics around our big day were just perfect! We went through multiple rounds of small scheduling and table placement changes and Kehau was more than willing to record the changes and ensure our venue and vendors could accommodate.On the wedding day, Kehau made sure that me and my wife were taken care of incredibly well! She was present for everything while making sure things ran smoothly in the background. Kehau and her team made us feel very calm and taken care of. We can't recommend her and the rest of the XoXo team enough!

I knew I wanted a planner for when I eventually had to plan a wedding, and woo boy, I had no idea how critical one would be. I found Kaci at XOXO Weddings through a law school classmate who planned her wedding. Kaci was bubbly, bright, friendly - qualities I sometimes lack - and it was so appreciated for the many zooms, calls, emails, and texts we had. I'm stubborn and type A, and I know there is a lot of the process that I could have done, but I'm glad that I chose not to and let Kaci handle and manage. Having her on top of everything gave me space to focus on the design and details - things that took our wedding from great to amazing. I used Kaci for the whole package which included helping us find a venue. She nailed it with what we eventually chose. I will say that if you're anything like me, you will still look at the venues' reviews, photos, etc before making a choice. Same with the various vendors. Kaci always came equipped with the best, but again, because I'm type-A, I would still do my own googling and research all to just come back to one of her suggestions. OR if I found one that I liked better on my own, she would still swoop in and handle communication and all the "admin." It felt like we were part of the same team when approaching vendors. I had a budget and Kaci would give me ways to make it work and would help me come up with ways to make it work with the vendors. If there was ever a snafu, she would be our representative and get it worked out. You can tell vendors love working with her. Which is what you need, because then vendors will want to work with you. I always worried, what if I change my mind? What if we do alllllll this, set the design book, and I wake up and have a different idea - well that happened and Kaci was great at communicating that I could change things up until x date. Kaci was always responsive. I'm a lawyer and being responsive to emails is part of my job, but I didn't expect it to be a part of hers, yet she would always respond if not right away, just a few hours later (I should note that I never expected her to get back to me so quickly and it was not something I demanded). I feel like this review is all over the place because how can I put our working relationship for the past year into one review?! Here's some more things though, she had a designated binder for my wedding. She kept track of when payments were due and how much had been spent. She helped create a budget at the outset and helped us stick to it --- though we strayed. She held a 4 hour design meeting with me that got the juices flowing. She attended vendor meetings with us. She was receptive to my suggestions and took them on. She helped run our rehearsal dinner and welcome party. When it came to day of stuff, I felt like a baby when I realized I had to deal with my family and their schedules and their parking and all that. Because she had taken such good care of everything else, I was like, I can't possibly handle this haha. Day of, she was everywhere. Had a walkie talkie and her two assistants from the company. They were everywhere too. Making sure I was where I needed to be. Making sure vendors were in and out appropriately. I'm sure she saw things and handled things that I'll never know about, and that's fine because I had a good day. Surprising to me is that we got our own attendant during dinner who was on top of getting us anything we needed. I wish I could relive that day again and again. I wish I could've attended my wedding as a guest! It just went so smoothly. I'm sad it's done, largely because we won't be working together anymore. If you're considering XOXO weddings, just do it. Save yourself the stress.

My husband and I got engaged in March 2023, and within one week, I was too overwhelmed by the prospect of planning a wedding and handling the pressure of my overly demanding full-time job. Fortunately, my husband's sister had an excellent recommendation for XOXO weddings. We opted for the comprehensive wedding package and were rewarded by working with the owner of XOXO, Kaci! Kaci immediately put my mind at ease. From the first call we had, we bonded over so much. She makes you feel safe in your decisions but also has a keen sense of when and where to guide you to make the right calls for you. One of the most significant game changes was her list of what to worry about when. It made me realize I didn't have to take it all on at once; we could break each thing down into individual steps per month. Additionally, she didn't overwhelm us with options, she listened to our requests and presented us with three options at a time. If we didn't like any of the three, she brought three more. The wedding took place in Palm Springs in April 2024, and it was gorgeous. Every one of her recommendations was so kind and professional. From the venue to the flowers to her team that was on hand the weekend of to assist - it was everything and more.

We HIGHLY recommend Kelly and XOXO Weddings for anyone's wedding if you want it organized to a tee!! We actually found Kelly because she was coordinating some of our best friends' wedding and by the middle of the night, we were asking for her business card. She is so extremely hard working and goes above and beyond for you. She's perhaps the most organized person I've ever seen and she prepared us for things we never would have thought of. Every time we started to get any anxiety about the wedding, we reminded each other about Kelly and immediately felt at ease. Because of her diligence, our wedding day went off without a hitch! I can't say enough good things to say about Kaci and XOXO! I cannot imagine anyone else guiding us through and pulling off our one-of-a-kind event. I work in production, so I know a good producer when I see one... and the hallmark is balance of logistical/organizational abilities and interpersonal/communication skills. Kaci and her team have that balance.My husband and I brought Kaci on board for our Catalina Casino wedding on Catalina Island after interviewing a few planners recommended by the Catalina Island Company. We opted for a comprehensive planning package because it's not so simple to host a wedding on Catalina and we had a lot on our plate: soonafter we set the date, I found out I was pregnant (and due a few months before the wedding!). Kaci was extremely compassionate... which became even more essential when things took a downward turn with my mom. She passed not too long after baby was born, and Kaci helped us postpone and replan the wedding with the utmost kindness and understanding during a very difficult time. Our timeline with Kaci was a supposed to be 1 year... it ended up nearly 2.When we rescheduled it ended up our son's birthday weekend - so she also helped with the welcome-dinner-slash-first birthday. Many thanks to her team for helping to set up the party decorations perfectly so I didn't have to... (And while I'm at it, shoutout to Mel for operating my son's RC car for a grand entrance to the wedding reception!)Kaci is organized, thorough, and kind. She had excellent vendor recommendations, did research if she didn't, and stayed on us when we were pursuing other folks as well - to make sure we followed through and got everything we needed. And, her husband made perfect graphics/posters for us! For someone like me who likes to produce/direct and be in control, I felt comfortable handing her the reigns... and that says a lot. Truly.I'll leave you with this: I know in my heart that my mom would have been so very happy seeing how happy our wedding made us, and that was in many ways thanks to Kaci and her team. It was beautiful, unique, fun... but most of all... it was a happy day. A happy day with happy memories.

Of all the decision we made for our wedding, this was by far the easiest. We got engaged in October, 2023 and started interviewing planners shortly after that. Kaci was one of the first wedding planners we chatted with and the way she asked questions about us, our story, what was important to us, the vision of our wedding, gave us all the confidence that she was the perfect person to handle our special day. We live in Minnesota (although the groom grew up in LA), so having someone help plan your wedding when you don't live in the state is of the utmost importance.After hiring her in December, 2023 she was right there with us for the next 13 months. She made sure we stayed on budget, gave us various vendors to contact, and answered all of our questions promptly. She did all of this with a smile on her face through each conversation. She made us feel like we were the only wedding she was planning.The sign of a great wedding planner is how they handle everything when things don't go as planned. How about getting married in LA during the week of the fires? Our wedding was January 11 and we flew into LA on the 8th, the day where things really started to get out of hand. Despite one of the many fires getting close to Kaci's house, and her power being cut, she never panicked. She never made us feel like our wedding was of the utmost importance to her. She handled it all with professionalism.Because of the fires, we did have to pivot on some things, including our officiant not flying in. Kaci was there at every turn to help us with important decisions and she kept calm the entire time. The day of our wedding went on without any issues, 13 months of planning paying huge dividends.Bottom line, if you want someone that is going to make you feel like your wedding is the only thing going on in her life, can help you every step of the way, and can handle the most major of crises, then Kaci, and XOXO Weddings, is the company to go with.
