Wild Rose Tavern is nestled in an oasis resort within Death Valley National Park. It is near the gold course. Finding it wasn't the easiest as it is in the very back of the complex. The staff were friendly and attentive. I opted for the burger which came on a pretzel bread and a side of chips. The burger was cooked just right and was flavorful with the sauce and green chiles (not spicy). Fixings are provided on the sideI also ordered a "furnace creek mule" (Moscow mule) which was tasty and made to perfection. This visit was a little splurge as I was camping at the campground next door and within walking distance. I am glad I did!

The menu was limited. I can handle this. What I cannot handle is really bad service. I mean REALLY bad. I was greeted when I walked in and told to sit anywhere I like. (good)After I came in - literally THREE tables sat down after me. I listened to the waiters explain the menu to each table. Then, a waiter nonchalantly asked me if I was dining with them. (WHAT WOULD I BE DOING SITTING AT A TABLE WAITING?). He then sat a menu down and walked away. No drink question. No food question. Just walk away. Then, after he had taken two tables' orders, he casually walks up and asks if I'm dining. AGAIN. I was visibly irritated and said something. He then started explaining the menu to me. After I ordered he walked away without asking me if I wanted anything to drink. I called him out on it. He got snotty and mumbled something about me handing him the menu as he walked away. (The drink was terrible btw. A mojito with no mint. It tasted like koolaid).Snotty, bad service. Just no.
