This venue MADE our wedding! It is truly heavenly the way they've designed it. Gary, Jeanne, and their teammates Wendy & Ryan made our wedding so magical. They always communicated with us and answered all of our questions along the way, and they're just wonderful people to be around. You really feel their love and passion for what they do. I felt so serene on my wedding day, we got amazing photos, and all of our guests have been raving about the beautiful venue. We looked around at a lot of venues around California, and we're so glad we picked this one and joined The White Horse Inn family!

Five star venue with 2 star service equals 3 stars. The truth is, someone has to let others know what's really up. I waited to do this review until I spoke with several of my guests. I hope this review helps others be warned about a few little issues so that their wedding can be perfect. To start, my best man walks with arm crutches due to his CP. Wendy promised him that they would get him where he needed to go when he needed to go with the go cart. Awesome! right?...Wrong! They rushed him up to the hall right after the ceremony. As a result, we had to wait for him to be brought back down. Due to limited sunlight I did not get a photo with my best man. SMH... part of the cost of a photographer for a wedding is the photos of the wedding party in it's entirety after the ceremony. The appetizer bar we paid for was rushed and my wedding party didn't get any because we were doing photos. My guests later told me that they were rolling it away before even half of my guests got some. We rented the hall so our guests wouldn't be cold but it was freezing inside because the heater wasn't turned on. Most of my guest were wearing their jackets in doors almost the entire time because it was so cold In there. The chicken I myself had was dry. And to add insult to it, the mashed potatoes were instant. On a plus side, the squash risotto was amazing. I wish I could say the same about the green beans we ordered for our guest, but they were no where to be found. The Mac-n-cheese we ordered for our grand children was so dry and crusty it seemed like it was made the day before and heated up in the microwave. Which by the way was supposed to be taken down to the guest house for the kids which were there with a babysitter. My son in law was the one who had to go find out why the food had not been sent down yet and then take it to them himself.Wendy promised me there would be plenty of water, coffee, tea and condiments. There was not. In fact the entire day I personally only had one cup of coffee. The staff started removing My center pieces and chair covers from the tables while my guests were still sitting at the tables. It was 6:30 at night, dinner didn't even get started until 5:30. Glasses and plates were being taken away from the tables before my guests were finished. Right before the dollar dance, 15 or so of my guests came to me to let me know the wedding was beautiful but they were cold and the staff was clearing the tables they were at while they were sitting there, removing the center pieces, so they were leaving. I rented the hall until midnight and the DJ until 10pm. At 7pm I was on the dance floor doing the dollar dance and watching the staff clear tables and actually roll them away! That's when I lost my patience and walked off the dance floor to talk to them about it. They told me they weren't clearing tables unless the guests had already left but that is not what I had seen with my own eyes. Just because my guest got up to stand in line to wait for a dance with us doesn't mean they don't want to be able to sit down at their table when done. Wendy and Jennie looked me in the face and denied doing what I saw with my own eyes. I walked back inside and my daughter over heard Wendy and Jennie say they were gonna handle it by sending the staff home and not serving my guests anymore....and that's exactly what they did. SMH...I am very disappointed that we spent so much money on this venue to have the service we had. They said I could rent trees for the hall to make the indoors look more like the outdoors. After I already paid for the tree rentals they shoved my trees off as close to the walls as they could. The trees were a pointless expensive addition by the time Wendy got done not only moving them as much out of the way as possible but also hiding them as much as possible. She did such a good job that it's really hard to tell from any of the 1000's of photos taken that night, that I had 20 full sized trees at my reception. And finally, Wendy and Jennie are extremely nice women....until all of your non-refundable money has been paid. Once that is done, they become Very rude, short with you, express exasperation's through expressions and body language and treat your guest very rudely. If this venue and its caterer want to charge 5 star prices, then they need to give 5 star service. The venue is totally beautiful. A perfect setting for an outdoor wedding in the forest. Maybe if they get an honest review, they will consider improving to five star service. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask me. I will be more than happy to answer them for you. PS...the hired staff employed by the white horse catering was extremely friendly and helpful. They were just doing what they were told.

I had to rate this place just to leave a review. If it was up to me I'd give them 0 starts. The customer service is very awful. The fact that during a time like this they don't care about their customers especially when trying to get your money back during a pandemic. I'm trying to figure out if this place not reaching back out because of their discrimination towards people of color or what? I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, the place isn't even trying to return anyone calls, texts, or emails!! Very unprofessional!!!!! Would not recommend to anyone!!! Horrible customer service to P. O. C!!!

17 months ago my granddaughter and fiancé met with the owners of the White Horse Inn. It didn't take long to realize they had come to the right place and met the right people for their special day. 10 months ago there was a change of ownership. To reassure themselves that all that had been promised would be honored, they began what became a 10 month odyssey. No calls or emails were ever answered by the new owners. The couple-to-be endured a part-time manager and then no manager. A new wedding manager was introduced to them by the baker of the wedding cake! The new owners appeared the day before the wedding and it quickly became evident that they were only there to set up tables and chairs, forgoing all promised assistance and care. It rained the morning of the wedding. The new owners had been paid and made it clear they weren't there to help with contingency plans such as heaters and canopies. They did not even offer to assist in acquiring rental items. All they said was, "Where is your wedding planner?" A successful wedding venue is more than the renting of a geographical location. Our saving grace was the caterer. These long-distance, new owners need to emulate the dedication, the commitment, and the involvement that the previous owners showered on clients. It was what made this wedding spot so desirable in the first place. The White Horse Inn has been stripped of its heart and soul. It should be more than an investment. Flitting around wedding day preparations like tables and chairs does nothing to add to the White Horse Inn venue experience. BYO at this venue means bring your own beauty. Now that the rental fee has been increased by one-thousand dollars, perhaps the new owners will come to realize this

My wife and I could not have picked a better, more picturesque venue for our ceremony and reception. The White Horse Inn was a magnificent location for our friends and family. Also, the food was absolutely magnificent and their in-house chef did a fantastic job on all the dishes. I saw a review that the venue is not handicap and elderly friendly. Our wedding had several older folks attending and the staff provided service via golf carts from the parking lot to and reception hall to the ceremony venue. The staff was attentive, professional, friendly, and worked together like a well-oiled machine to make sure everything went off without a hitch. If you are looking for a lovely venue in the woods with a natural appeal, make sure you check out the White Horse Inn first.

Had my wedding here on May 2010, the owners Gary and Jeannie did an amazing job. Pros: You really don't have to worry about timeline, most of the set up etc. The food is reasonably priced as well as drinks. The venue is beautiful, lush and the river runs right next to it!Cons: just know that on your special day, other people can come to do their rehearsals. This is in the paperwork that you sign. I would suggest telling the owners to have people come to rehearsal early in the morning.

My fiance's Mom was recently married here (June 2008) and it was a beautiful place for a wedding. The grounds were nicely landscaped with the sound of rushing water (from the river nearby) that could be heard throughout the property. It was a sweltering hot day -- I'm talking face melting hot -- but what do you expect from a June day in the central valley? By evening it really cooled down making it tolerable to dance the night away under the stars. The grounds are really nice with a rock waterfall as the backdrop to the exchanging of vows. It is right near a river -- literally, there is a dance floor that edges out over the river which was pretty cool. After the ceremony, the guests moved to round tables set up outside and enjoyed a nice meal. One drawback was that the microphone kept cutting out and I did not get to hear the newly married couple speak, nor the best man and maid of honor and I was sitting near one of the front tables and still couldn't make out what they were saying. There is a house that you can rent for the day/night right on the wedding grounds which made it super easy to get ready and dressed without being "off-site". The furniture in the house was really old school and stuffy, but it came with a full kitchen allowing us to have snacks before and after the wedding. Oh, and it had air conditioning, I could forgive the poor taste in furnishings for the icy blast of the AC -- which we ran all day long...All in all, it was a really fun wedding! The bride boasted that the place took care of everything and all they had to do was show-up -- which was exactly the way they wanted it.

I'm so glad we got married here! This place feels like a private getaway. There are many small hotels near the site which makes arrangements very easy for out of town guests. Jeannie & Gary are very professional, hard working, and have many years of experience working together! It is obvious that their staff highly respects them. Everything went off without a hitch thanks to Jeannie's wisdom and careful planning. If you want a beautiful, affordable site, where the owners will take good care of you, this is the place. Warning: They have a very good reputation (word of mouth) so you'll need to call a year in advance to get the dates you want. Also, the central valley is very HOT in the summer and some people aren't prepared for that (even though Jeannie & Gary will try to warn you).

Very beautiful wooded place to have a small to medium size wedding. The walkways are alittle uneven rolled my ankle a couple of time waring high heels.

We had the absolute best experience having our wedding at the White Horse Inn. It is absolutely beautiful and Jeanne and Gary were so helpful and accommodating. They made things easy on us, provided the most delicious meal ever (seriously our guests keep talking about it) and were genuinely happy for us. They treated us like family, and if I had to do it all over again, I would pick The White Horse Inn again in a heartbeat.
