I have bought three cars from Volkswagen Bakersfield, and I'm not sure why I keep doing it. The sales service is great, of course, but once you're past that stage, good luck with customer service.I've been trying to get in touch with someone for three weeks now because I received a notice from the DMV about tags due on a vehicle I traded in four months ago. I've called numerous times, just to reach someone who can confirm whether they submitted the bill of sale to the DMV, but I have not received a return call.The finance manager, Daniel Gutierrez, assured me that someone would get back to me, but no one has. Now, I'm always directed to a phone number no one answers or told that I'll receive a call back--which never happens. It's incredibly frustrating.This is not the first time I've had issues with Volkswagen Bakersfield. For example, the VW I purchased in 2021 had ongoing electrical problems. The service department ordered parts, but they never informed me when they arrived. On one occasion, I was told my car was ready for pickup after it had been in the shop for 30 days, only for me to discover when I arrived that nothing had been fixed, and the part was sitting in the back seat.This level of customer service is making me seriously reconsider ever doing business with VW Bakersfield again.

I took my 2019 VW Golf in for 20,000-mile servicing. I average about 5,000 miles a year, which means I don't drive it much, but I want to keep up on maintenance. The service included the usual oil change, air filter, etc. I also wanted the air conditioner serviced as I am new to the area, which is very dusty. About a month after the service, I noticed a little bump on the hood. After a close inspection, someone left a tool on the engine and closed the hood. I waited for my in-law to look at it, and he came to the same conclusion. I opened the hood, but there wasn't anything on the engine. I called VW of Bakersfield, and the person I spoke with said he would have someone call me back. A few weeks passed, and I called again and was told someone would call me back. This time, a manager did return my call. I explained the situation, and he said that because 30 days had elapsed, he could do nothing. I contacted the BBB and explained the issue. I provided a picture of the protrusion. I asked if VW had spoken with the mechanic who performed the maintenance. VW responded with: "The client brought their car in for 20,000 mile service on July 10 2024.The client then calls back 58 days later and states we damage on the hood of their carif we had damaged the hood on their vehicle they would have noticed it within a day or two at mostNOT 58 days later. if client would have called back in 1-3 days we would have addressed this concernthe client did not call for 58 days , if we damaged the hood, they would have noticed the damaged long before 58 daysJason DoyleFixed Operations DirectorAs I mentioned, I only drive my car sometimes, so the damage wasn't immediately noticed. Now, if anyone knows what tools are used to perform the maintenance (oil, air filter, and air conditioner), I can determine what tool was left on my hood.

Final update as I've finally gotten the money back for my extended warranty and I can wash my hands of the situation. So after my last update a while later I got a call from the salesman I'd been working with in the past. He told me that Brad was no longer GM, they got a new GM and all new management and the new management really wanted to make things right with me. They asked me to come in for a meeting to discuss everything that happened and try to make it right. Against my better judgement I agreed since it was new management I decided to give them one more chance. I arrived about 20 minutes early for my appointment and I met the new sales manager. He said he was really busy but was up to date on my situation and my salesman would be with me shortly, we could discuss everything. I was left sitting in the waiting room for an hour, the salesman never showed. I finally tracked down the manager and told him I couldn't wait any longer, he told me he though a different salesperson was taking care of me, someone I'd never heard of before. I told him no one has approached me at all and I wasn't waiting around. I left and after picking up my check today I won't step on that lot again. The Jettas are not nearly as reliable as they used to be and the staff at VW are just so scattered and seem uncaring. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. I had a fantastic experience at Bakersfield Mazda, I was treated like I was valued and got a deal no where near what VW offered me.

Came in for my oil & filter change for my VW GTI and was greeted in a professional matter with knowledge staff. I like the fact that my air filter and cab filter was dirty and they come find you and show you why it needs replaced. Great service here! Love the New VW GTI and GOLF R's that are on the showroom floor and out front! Plenty in stock guys 2024 GTI are at $46k and GOLF R is at $60k. They are expensive but worth it!

You don't care so don't pretend that you do. If you did you would have made it right when you could have. I'm stuck with a service contract that I have to drive to LA to get serviced and if anything happens to my vehicle I have to tow it there. Your words mean nothing. Actions speak louder.

Very helpful! Bryce is a salesman the truly cares about his customers and wants to make them happy! He kept in contact with me and did everything he could to make sure my car buying needs were met. They made the process easy and we walked out with exactly what we wanted. Plus they surprised us with a cake after congratulating us on the purchase of our car. Carlos, Aldo, and their internet director are masters of bait and switch.Will set your appointment for their lease specials and then tell you we sold the vehicle at 10PM last night.The vehicles were never available. They advertised availability for the ID4 S when inventory was showing. And still showing the Pro. More than one option were available at 6PM.There was no attempt to of the dealership to call and cancel our appointment. We drove 78 miles in the morning only for them to ask if we're interested in a different option.

Just make a visit at this dealership today I am interested in a Audi, little skeptical many dealerships those days are rude and unprofessional at same time.A wile back I was interested in to a Golf that I didn't purchase because I had the filling that the mechanic shop at this dealership wasn't friendly.
