Village Grill

The best chicken fried steak I've ever had. Huge portions. My whole family loved their meals. The outdoor seating looked beautiful. waitress was very nice.

I haven't been here in quite some time. It was such a beautiful day I chose to sit in their charming patio area. The restaurant is charming with an old school vibe and has one of the prettiest outdoor restaurant seating areas in Bakersfield. It is shaded with trees It's relatively quiet because the entrance faces the parking lot instead of street. Classic rock plays in the background. This is a breakfast & lunch restaurant open from 6:00am to 2:00 pm. One of the downsides to this restaurant is that it isn't open for dinner. The patio is so romantic. Jody was my friendly and attentive server. I ordered the Cobb salad and was not disappointed. It is served with a delicious grilled chicken breast, bacon, olives, bleu cheese, boiled egg on a bed of fresh crispy greens. So if you are looking for a cozy and cute restaurant check out The Village Grill. I will definitely be back soon.

Today we decided to visit Village Grill. We were greeted right away and our drink order was taken. After looking over the menu we decided on bacon, eggs with ranch potatoes and biscuit and gravy. My husband ordered the Village Grill omelette. Both dishes were delicious. We both really enjoyed the country potatoes. They had just the right flavor and I could have ate a whole bowl all by itself. It was pretty quiet as we were the only customers in the building besides a couple that were eating outside. Their out door seating looks very tranquil and it was really clean. Prices for the food were good too. Definitely give this place a try. They are only open for Breakfast and Lunch.

The owner and staff are very friendly and always greet you with a smile. Orders usually come without a long wait. I like their specials, and the variety of the menu. The fish and chips are one of my favorites, as well as the clam chowder.

We love to eat here after we go to Kaiser late mornings. There's always seating we never have to wait. As you can see by the pictures, they have booths and tables. The staff is very efficient. Always checking on us to see if we have everything we need. The food is great. I love the breakfast, but lunch is also very good. The menu has a lot to offer and it's hard to choose but I haven't had anything bad yet. The portion size is also really good. We also like the atmosphere of diner like booths and the memorabilia.

Waitresses talking instead of helping us and when my burger came out it was very dry, we had to literally yell for the Waitresses to refill out waters after waiting for 8 minutes, we were waving for them to come over to us the entire time

Here'sMy daughter suggested this place, and I'm so glad she did! The food was fresh, delicious, and generously portioned, arriving quickly and piping hot. But the real standout was the exceptional customer service.From the moment I walked in, I felt like a VIP guest. The entire team was warm and attentive, ensuring I had everything I needed without even having to ask. My waitress was fantastic, but what really impressed me was how the whole staff worked together--constantly checking in to make sure I was comfortable and never lacking coffee or water.It's rare to find a place where great food and outstanding service come together so seamlessly. I'll definitely be back!

Came here on a brunch date, was seated and served quickly. The outside area is super pretty, lots of plants and had a lot of small birds roaming the area. The food was pretty good too! I got the French Toast and it wasn't very crispy... but flavor wise was really good! I tried my bfs chilli omelette and it was really good. Would recommend if you like pretty atmospheres and good food!

Stopped in this morning on my way to work as I was craving bicuits and gravy and this place is nearby. I will not be back. I placed my order to go at the cashiers counter. I was charged a credit card processing fee even though I was paying cash. ?? The waitress corrected that with no apology. I had to ask for a receipt because the total still seemed a bit higher than expected. She had to get someone to help her print the receipt. When I reviewed it, I noticed that I was charged a$1.00 as a "to go" fee. When I questioned them on it, I was told that it was for the to go box. I responded by asking if I had sat at a table and requested a box for left overs, would I be charged that? They said no, but everyone charges for to go orders. This is not true, but ok whatever. I happily said ok, I just won't come back and order to go. They just as happily said "That's fine". This is just silly. A moment later I had my food and left and was given a very sarcastic "have a blessed day" on my way out. Very rude and very unnecessary.I was equally disappointed with the food. I ordered biscuitS and gravy....(plural) as listed on the menu. I received one biscuit and something that resembled gravy but tasted like white grease. No other flavor, just grease. It was disgusting and inedible. I had to just toss it. Unfortunately, this experience will result in me not returning and not recommending to others.
