If I could I wouldn't even give this place ONE star!!!On May 20th, I drove across town, approximately a 30-minute drive from where I live, to Ventura's Party Supplies. I arrived just before 10:00am and waited for about 20 minutes before leaving because the business was still CLOSED. Business hours are posted on the front window and indicate that they open at 10am! I returned later that morning looking for a clown piñata. The owner I spoke to informed me that they did not have any in stock, but that she could have one made for me that coming Sunday. She recommended that I order a clown head piñata instead of a full clown piñata because they were much prettier. She also informed me that if I did choose to order a full body piñata that I would be required to place a deposit because they do not sell, but if I were to order a clown head piñata that I would not need to leave a deposit. She told me that if I ended up not liking the clown head piñata when I came to pick it up I had no commitment to purchase. I would at that point be able to order the full body clown piñata with a deposit. She told me to call the following Wednesday, May 27, to make sure that they were able to finish the piñata before driving across town to pick up the piñata. Before leaving, I asked the owner if I needed to leave my information and a deposit, to which she indicated that it was not necessary. On May 27 I called Ventura's Party Supplies to make sure the piñata I had ordered the week prior was ready to be picked up. The owner indicated that the piñata was available to be picked up. I sent my brother to pick up the piñata for me later that day. When he arrived he was informed that she had sold the piñata to another lady!!! When I spoke to the owner she not only spoke over me and was extremely rude, but she had the audacity to tell me that I should have left a deposit. Really? I didn't leave a deposit because she told me not to! Never again!!! I am a stickler for good customer service and above all good business practices, both of which this business owner failed to do. This is the second time I have had a bad experience with this business. Despite my previous bad experience, I went back and gave this place a second chance. Rest assured there will not be a third!!!I would also like to add that Ventura's Party Supplies' products are more expensive that the other piña stores on the east side. I ended up paying $24 for the same size and style piñata that Ventura's sells for $10 more.

I appreciate the common suggestions for this place for my choice in piñatas and I'm really excited when the woman there tod me they can custom make them I'm was excited to get the color coordination I want was going to be available. The business has been around ever since I was little growing up and for the first time I was able to get one for my baby I'm happy. Great prices for good sir piñatas

If there was an option not to give a star, I wouldn't. However, since this is the lowest rating I could give...this is what she gets. On July 31st my husband and I went into Ventura's party supply in the hopes of finding a number 1 piñata for our daughters first birthday. They did not have what we wanted, however, we were assured by the owner that we could have one custom made. After giving us a quote of 35 dollars we eagerly paid, told her exactly what we wanted, even showed her an example of something similar she had in her store (she tore off the colors from that same piñata to use as reference for ours), and told us we could pick it up today 8/14 before closing. We drove 30 miles to get to this place (as we live out of town) and my husband walks in and to our horror she made the WRONG THING! Then had the audacity to tell us that if we wanted something custom it would have cost us 45! Uh no. If you quote someone on a custom piñata at a different price and assure the customer that is what they'll get, then she should keep her word. After proceeding to tell us that we were wrong, she then told us if we wanted what we originally told her, she would charge us an extra 15 dollars to fix it. REALLY! It was her mistake and we have to pay the extra cost?! After taking her to the reference piñata we wanted ours to be like, she said that all we told her was that we wanted those same colors and not the same pattern, however, she had it written down on our receipt of what we wanted. After refusing to fix the piñata on her dime, she said she was going to give us back our money, that we were wrong, and to never return to her store again. Oh trust me...we won't! Not with that bitchy attitude. If she would have just admitted that she made a mistake, all would have been well, however, she refused to take ownership of her mistake and blamed us. Luckily for us we drove down the street to El Gran Piñaton (right across from Mercado Latino) and got what we wanted at a cheaper price! Don't waste your time going to VENTURAS. As you can see from other reviews, this lady is rude, and blames you for her mistakes. Go to El Gran Piñaton and get what you want at a cheaper price!
